This location of Lenny’s Deli is part of the food court in the Horseshoe Casino. Not a true deli, it does sell a variety of deli sandwiches and has breakfast items available all day. The prices. Yes, everything is more expensive than elsewhere. You’re in a casino. Have a problem with that? Win more. It is a little off-putting that they went to all the trouble to load the casino with Baltimore institutions, but charge almost twice as much for a sandwich than one of their other locations just a few blocks away, but whatever. Thirteen bucks for a Ham and Swiss sandwich. Was it worth that much for a sandwich packed with so much ham I could have taken half of it home? If it was less than that it would have been a heck of a bargain. As it is, I did get a lot for what I paid. The sandwiches are so big that we probably should have split it rather than drop ten buck for my wife’s BLT. Both perfectly serviceable, very basic, deli-style sandwiches, but both pretty darn huge. The service was rather slow and confused, but hey. Food court.

I wanted a quick bite between having fun in the Casino. Grabbed a rare roast beef & swiss on Rye. It was fantastic and only wish I had asked for some spicy mustard. The staff is very nice and helpful. Between this, Pizzetta & Heavy Seas Burgers the Marketplace is a homerun!

(5÷10÷2015) Went to the Horseshoe for Mother’s Day(I swear, that’s where she wanted to go) and didn’t want to waste too much time and money at a sit-down place for lunch. The Marketplace is actually quite nice. The«local» representatives are generally well-known for their food around town(except maybe with the exception of Tark’s). Guy’s we expect to be disappointed just because of all the hype. Was really looking forward to some corned beef from Lenny’s from Corned Beef Row over on Baltimore Street, they’ve been there 24 years(although they’re no Attman’s). On a Sunday late afternoon it was pretty much dead in the food court. There was only 1 guy ahead of me who got a cold sandwich to-go(smart move), kind of took forever for a Reuben on the grill. Pretty much the corned beef at the ‘Shoe is Lenny’s in name only. Pretty much it looked like it was from a package of Buddig’s from the grocery store, likely it was ordered from a large food purveyor like U.S. Foods or Sysco. Volume of meat was sufficient, dressing was mostly mayo with vinegar, sauerkraut was tart. A side of onion rings also from a mass-produced frozen product(kind of like from school cafeterias). Price for the sandwich and side? Little over $ 20, def NOT worth it.

A Lenny’s in a casino? Score! If you happen to find yourself at the Horseshoe Casino on a late night — it could happen — and have a hankering for a deli sandwich, this is an option. I got a BLT that didn’t take long to come out. Got it toasted, and it was a tasty treat, crispy bacon and huge tomato slices. They take credit cards, which is a mercy since all the prices are appropriately jacked. You know, the normal deal in a casino. Friendly customer service.
