Went in for brunch on a Saturday. Nice staff, food was great, and drinks were pretty good. We’ll definitely come back at some point!

Jazz brunch!!! Three of us came in for brunch and had such a lovely experience! The band was awesome and looked like they were having the times of their lives! This restaurant has a series of different Benedict’s, which we were graciously willing to try! — crab cake bennies: yummmmm — pulled pork bennies: yummm — burger: ehh Another huge plus for all you Unilocalers is the free green tomato appetizer when you check in(duh, always) on Unilocal!Just show your phone to the waiter!

The Carolina Shrimp and Grits is so incredibly delicious!!! Wish I had know about this a long time ago. The grits are cooked in a clam broth and it comes with andouille sausage as well. I had no idea grits could be this tasty. The grilled hanger steak is fantastic too. Just go!

Not really impressed but not awful. Food was presented very well — riblets stacked like Jenga planks, nice looking wedge salad. Just wasn’t that good. Rib sauce tasty but ribs were like reheated parboil. Salad was fresh but skimpy on amenities. Haricot Vert arrived late but good. We were the only people in the place on «steak night». Weitd

Meh. So I came here on my way back from a business trip because I heard about it some kind of way. Anyhoo, I arrived around the universally accepted happy hour time(I’m happy EVERY hour, thankyouverymuch), so I sat in the bar, anxious to get myself some wine and good food. Initially, I ordered the red wine that was on happy hour special. It came WARM. Like, this was waaaaay warmer than room temperature. I had to send it back. I opted for a white instead. I ordered an appetizer of the shake shack shrimp. Blah. It was some popcorn shrimp with lackluster buffalo sauce on there. Under my breath, I cursed my server who recommended it to me. For my meal, I originally wanted the scallops. I asked if I could have it without mushrooms, and was told that I could, because everything was made fresh and customized. Fantastic! Buuuuuuuuuuuuut, then the chef comes out, and quite rudely, tells me that the mushrooms are already in the ragout. Ok. Fine. So I opted for the shrimp and grits instead. The shrimp and grits just wasn’t. .. good. I finished the shrimp and poked around at the grits, but wasn’t moved. Finally, after 2 glasses of wine, I decided it was time to order dessert and be out. I ordered pecan pie. Ugh. It was allllll pecans, none of that gooey filling. I sent it back. It wasn’t good. The server recommended the bread pudding. I packed it up and took it home. Too much allspice. WAY too much. Like, it was just bad. I threw it out. One thing I *really* disliked about my experience was my server. Though, she was trying to be sweet, she just kept referring to me as honey, baby, and sweetie. I’m 30. She might have been 31 at best. Unless you’re an old lady in church, pulling random peppermints from her purse, don’t call me honey, baby, or sweetie. It’s kinda rude. So I’d have to recommend you skip this place. I see the ratings and I fail to get the hype.

First place I ate when I moved to Fed Hill, and it is still one of my favorite places to go. Brunch on Saturday and Sunday are great! Make sure you get the mimosas at brunch which are $ 5. Grace the bartender is real cool. Kelly the owner is really cool also. Great food. There are different specials every day of the week.

The rest of the reviews say it all. It’s very hard to complain about this place. I have never had a bad experience. The food is exceptional and so is the pricing. My most recent visit was unknowingly during their kick off to Baltimore’s Restaurant Week. They offered the normal dinner menu as well as a special 3 course selection for around $ 30 pp. I had the apple salad, talapia and red velvet cake. Absolutely nothing to complain about!

I can’t believe this place has such good ratings. The ambiance was lovely, so I really wanted to like this place. But from my eggs benedict, I can only assume that the kitchen has no salt or pepper because it was completely unseasoned. Potatoes were underdone(and unseasoned — who doesn’t at least salt potatoes?), and after a snooty response from the server, she returned with a burnt order. Inedible. And after my companion was done with coffee after brunch, we just wanted the check and I had to yell«excuse me!» at the top of my lungs to be heard by our waitress who was yakking it up with co-workers at the bar. I would say I really like the place — except for the food and the service, but that really means that there is no reason to return. :(

Came to Langermann’s on Light for a late dinner on our trip to Baltimore. I ordered the Shrimp & Grits, which I am ashamed to say, was my first grits experience. Langermann’s has me hooked. The grits were creamy and flavorful, the shrimp and andouille sausage portions were both generous, and the delicate clam broth made the dish really become something more than just shrimp on grits. Everything that was ordered in my group was delicious and enjoyed immensely. We tried the chocolate mousse for dessert, which was rich and light. Service was friendly, attentive but not overbearing, and didn’t seem to delay at all, even on a busy Saturday night. I’d love to go back and try Langermann’s brunch.

I came here with my boyfriend and our two friends this past Sunday after he had just finished a triathalon. Despite coming in almost at noon, I was rejected by my server thrice. First, when I asked for a sandwich from the lunch menu; second, when I asked for a salad from the lunch menu, and third, when I asked for the free fried green tomato appetizer I saw for checking in on Unilocal. They clearly were not doing lunch at noon on Sunday. So I opted for the bagel, cream cheese, and smoked salmon for $ 7.95. Bf ordered the Yucatan Eggs Benedict for $ 11.25, and as per usual, we split our orders. I was wary of ordering the bagel and salmon. The last time I did that from another place, it was incredibly salty and inedible almost. This time, the poppy seed bagel was great with the cream cheese and smoked salmon. I did think the bagel might have been of the frozen variety though. It didn’t have that freshness I expected. I topped my half with a slice of tomato, a couple of thin slices of red onion and some shredded lettuce and was happy. Under our friends’ advisement, we ordered grits. Yum. The grits were homey and comforting and warm and delicious. We agreed the chorizo looked more like a sausage patty. I don’t really like poached eggs because of the runny yolk and this was fine. It was a salty dish though. Oh, and there was live jazz! Awesome! It was loud since we were sitting right in front of the band, but it was good.

Maybe it was just today, because most everyone else seems to love them, but my experience was less than stellar. My coffee was just plain gross, so I ordered a diet coke, it was flat. For my meal, I ordered Chesapeake Eggs Benedict. My eggs were hard boiled, the crab cake was a millimeter thick and the hollandaise was more salt than anything. At one point, our waiter came to the table and asked how everything was, I said«my meal and both drinks are actually awful» to which he responded«that’s great!» And walked away. Maybe I will try again, but only if I’ve been given a groupon.

Awesome brunch! Mimosas are perfect and service is always solid. Also would recommend the Jerk Chicken Philly and the Salmon(sauce on the side) is probably the best thing on their menu.

Great food — lousy service. It’s a shame because the place is awesome. Great location, well laid out, and with a full menu. They even do jazz with brunch on weekends. But the service is about as bad as you can find. I’ve been here about 4 or 5 times and every time I leave I swear I won’t be back until its under new management. The last time I was here for brunch they told me it was going to be a 15 – 20 minute wait. Not bad, right? Over an hour later I’m still being told that my table is almost up. At that point I had already waited for a while and wasn’t about to leave. It took another hour and a half to order and eat when the place was at about half capacity. I would’ve had better luck going home and making my own brunch. Bottom line — the food is really good, but it is not worth the wait or dealing with the lousy service.

*Baltimore Eats* Unilocal 365 Challenge x 2 #205/365 Dear Langermann’s, I don’t know whether to weep with joy or despair as my visit with Baltimore is coming to a close! I weep with joy for the many Unilocalies in Baltimore recommending your restaurant! I weep with joy that you are only a mile away from my hotel! I weep with joy because I finally found a restaurant that makes GREAT coffee! I weep with joy that your Grilled Hanger Steak entrée is the ultimate comfort to my belly especially with the wild mushroom, corn and asparagus risotto!!! I WEEPWITHJOYFORTHATBREADPUDDING! Oh my goodness… I LOVE that bread pudding… the cinnamon flavor especially with hot coffee… I love you! *beats chest dramatically while whispering* BUT I WEEP with DESPAIR that I will have to fly out the end of this upcoming week knowing that I will have to fly back to Baltimore if I want that risotto and bread pudding! I weep with despair that I can’t drag you to Hawaii with me! Seriously? From the service to the food! It was very very friendly and quick. Our hostess shared the specials and also gave great recommendations on the menu if we weren’t sure. I believe this is their second location because this location is in Federal Hill. Overall Customer Service: Excellent Menu: EXCELLENT especially their grilled hanger steak and bread pudding! I can imagine the apple cobbler is just as delicious because it was my first choice but they ran out, which is how I ended up with the bread pudding! Prices: Just a TAD pricey but I swear… if you fill your belly with that bread pudding-you won’t mind at all because you’ll be well-fed and content! Ambiance: Dark wood, clean and a friendly air about the place Recommend: YES and if you do, be prepared to lace up and run afterwards especially if you were a glutton like me who if had the chance would have licked that dessert bowl clean!

I went here right after they opened and we ordered all of the appetizers. We were very pleased. My favorites were the crab dip and the tuna crab tartar. I went back for dinner and ordered the pork chops. On paper, they look really good but I wasn’t impressed. I felt that for the amount of money I spent, I could have made them much better on my own, and cheaper. My mom did have the ribs and really liked them. I went back a third time and had the goat cheese salad, which was very good but nothing too exciting. Overall, I’d recommend just going for drinks and appetizers, as I have yet to be super impressed by the menu.

A warm & cozy atmosphere welcomes you in, and you can sit at hightops in the bar area, or tables in the dining area. The L-shaped bar is pretty large, with a wide variety of beers and wines to choose from. Hubs + I have been several times, but we took his parents and sister last night for dinner. We’ve always received stellar service, and our visit last night was no exception. We ordered the Hangar Steak, Catfish fingers with a side of Mac+Cheese, Shrimp & Scallops, BBQ Spareribs(very generous portion!), and the special of the night — the Braised Shortribs. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their selections, and most of our plates were just about licked clean! Very happy to have a great restaurant in our part of the neighborhood, albeit a bit pricey for everyday dining, with entrees in the $ 18 – 22 range. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant, and will continue to return for the delicious dishes.

Visited on Mon 11⁄12 and had a wonderful time. My boyfriend and I each got one of the specials, which were only $ 12.95, and we both enjoyed our meals. We tried the yummy(if normal) draught beer before trying a bottled beer from their extensive list. We also were able to buy an unopened bottle of wine to take home b/c they have a ‘sellers permit’- which was awesome. Our waitress and the bartender/manager were extremely nice and helpful with our choices. So much so that we ended up getting the crème brûlée dessert(which we NEVER do). As a young professional it was a little pricey, but the perfect place for date night and the service was stellar.
