Closed. Went to go here for the second year in a row for tradition only to find out once we arrived that the restaurant was for rent and had closed down.

When we arrived the owner wasn’t there and the stand in didn’t know crap about the menu. So on top of waiting our meter was ticking. I ordered the bouillabaisse soup and the grilled seafood salad. The soup was below average to what I had experienced during attending culinary school. It soup base was light and not very flavorful. I wasn’t impressed and didn’t finish it at all. The grilled seafood salad was nice. I liked the fresh mixed greens and mixture of seafood. The vinaigrette dressing complimented the grilled seafood by kicking up the flavor due to its tanginess. I would get that again. I would be open to trying her other soups.

Finally visited tis small but large menu restaurant AND met the owner, Angie. She not only provides great food and friendly service but is very entertaining! The menu posted on the wall was diverse, extensive, and cleverly described… made me want to come back and try all of her soups! I had the green cuury soup with shrimp and also the gumbo, very good, What really caught my attenton, was the very discounted menu for senior citizens. I also observed the way she interacted with those less fortunate. Other restaunteers should follow her example. Boillebaise has won my business!

I’ve been meaning to try this place for weeks now since I walked pass out one day while out for lunch. More specifically, I wanted to try it out on a Friday when they offer their«Bouillabaisse», but because of life I just haven’t stopped in! Today while trying to find lunch, I walked by with no intention on going in. I thought, I’ll just come back on Friday.(Thinking about how I still hadn’t made it yet) I turned around and went inside. I opened the door and it’s quite smaller than I had imagined. There are a few tables along the wall where you can sit and eat. Right away I was greeted by the woman behind the counter. I forgot to ask her name, so I’ll just call her«friend» lol. «Friend» was very nice! She made conversation with me and everyone else that was inside at the time. There was this older man sitting down eating. Immediately you could tell he was a regular just from the dialect between him and«friend». So on the wall is the menu with some specials and also the daily soup menu. Today was taco soup and Maryland style crab. Neither was something I wanted to try. Instead I ordered the grilled seafood salad to go.(Romaine lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, banana peppers, cheese, cucumbers, shrimp, clams, bay scallops, and fish) It came out in about 7 mins and with tax was $ 6.63. Great price! The salad was pretty good. If I had known there was cheese, I wouldn’t have ordered it with cheese. But that’s just my preference. I can’t wait to go back for the Friday Soups!

Delicious homemade soups. The menu changes daily and each season so there is a lot of variety to choose from. The soup and sandwich combo for $ 6.50 is fantastic!

I went on a Friday for the bouillabaisse. I also picked up an order of the seafood gumbo. Both were among the best I’ve had and that includes bouillabaisse in France. Both soups were stocked with seafood, not too salty, and tasty. And the price was one-third of what you pay for less quality soups in high class restaurants. I also tried the shrimp poboy which was loaded with shrimp with just the right amount of crunch. I’ll be going back next week to try the fries and Filipano salad.

So don’t come here on your first date unless they’re a downtown art scene hipster who is tolerant of a somewhat sketchy block and a restaurant that is devoid of any atmosphere that could even be remotely romantic. But, do come here with if you want the best soup around at any price. The Boss Lady is quite enjoyable. Check it out. The namesake Bouillabaisse is only made on Friday. My buddy had the beef barley for $ 3.5 and loved it. The Bouillabaisse is a whopping $ 7.75. Best deal anywhere for such quality!

Just got a message from a random person, but it was the owner because they knew where I was and the situation. They said I should be glad that they delivered to a festival and to stop complaining. I am sorry guys but if you don’t want to deliver cause its a festival then say sorry we can’t deliver right now don’t make excuses for your shoddy food and horrible service. This is why when I am in town for artscape or the book festival I only order from turps. Great food great delivery. Again I am taught a lesson about giving other local places a chance. Btw just looked and the message came from stephanie T who is 1 of there only 2 other reviews. Interesting…

This place is amazing! The staff is courteous, the service is faster than ANY of the surrounding eateries for delivery(as far as my experience). The prices are also great, and you get MORE than your monies worth. Today I ordered a soup and sandwich combo and my boss had an italian sub and chips. came out to about $ 14WITH delivery and WITH tip! and the sandwich(chicken cheese steak) was so filling that I am saving the soup for tomorrow. Last week we ate here two days in a row and I was literally excited to order from here again today. The soups are amazing also. Basically, I will ALWAYS love this café.

i found this place while searching for new delivery options on grub hub, all I can say is «wow!» I have ordered from this place twice this week and both times were fantastic! The soup is hot, fresh and delish! So far I have tried the red and green curry, the bouillabaisse and the Portuguese soup— Oh, and the fries! I really like that their menu includes cold soup options with B-more’s sweltering summer knocking on the door! Everything on the menu is really reasonably priced.(Soups average 4 bucks), and their delivery minimum is only 10 dollars! So glad I found this place!

Found Bouillabaisse Café on and figured I’d give them a try. The food is awesome! I had the Chicken Cheesesteak, Coq au Vin Soup, and Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. All were better than expected. The Cheesesteak was full of full of chopped white breast meat chicken, my choice of cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and mayo(there were also pepper and olive options, too). The Coq au Vin Soup was full of huge white breast meat pieces, celery, carrots and potatoes. When I ordered 2 Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, I received a BOX of made to order cookies! You can’t get better than that! There was a small incident with me delivery driver being offensive, but once I called the owner to report the incident, the issue was quickly resolved. This is my only reason for removing one star. I am hopeful that my next experience with them is much more pleasant.

Just had their cheesesteak delivered to my house. The meat was rubbery and i couldn’t even eat more than a couple bites. Ended up throwing the whole thing out, waste of my money…

Everyone always dreams about that local lunch place near where you work where the staff always knows who you are, the food is fantastic, and the price is low. Few people will find that, but for those that work near Bouillabaisse Café, it can be that place for you. Bouillabaisse is a small restaurant that only serves lunch, but that lunch is fantastic. All of their subs and sandwiches are piled high, the salads overflow the plate, and one order of fries(cooked in peanut oil) is enough for a group of four to enjoy. True to its name, Bouillabaisse is on the menu, but only one day a week. The owner, Angela, serves a variety of homemade soups which are rotated on a daily basis. This rotation is changed about twice a year and Angela is always trying something new. Classics such as Chicken Noodle are there, but for something new, try the Coq Au Vin soup, the Arroz Caldo soup, or the Chicken Curry soup. All the sandwiches and subs are delicious, but some outliers above the rest should be mentioned. Their cheese-steak sub is the best around and uses Amaroso bread from Philadelphia to give it that authentic flavor. The chicken salad is unlike any I’ve had elsewhere. And, if you like chicken, try the bonnie burger(a ground chicken burger) with fried onions and mayonnaise. The service is friendly, and Angela will know your name after the second visit. The price is exceptionally reasonable. In a town where it’s hard to get a good lunch under $ 10, Bouillabaisse Café has many selections under $ 5. In all, this is my favorite place to eat lunch when I am at work and I recommend it to anyone in the downtown Baltimore area.

The food at this place was amazing. I ate here 3 times on my 2 day trip to Baltimore. I think it’s a family run place and they were awesome to say the least. The minute you step inside they make you feel welcomed. I was known as Vegas after my first visit there. I stay and chatted with the locals there for about 3 hours. I highly recommend this place. Absolutely love it and can’t wait to go back.

This was the most adorable ordering experience I’ve ever had. The owner welcomed me in and talked me through the menu asking questions like«How hungry are you?» etc. It was too hot to order soup that day, but the soup list looks awesome(4 different homemade soups a day). Delivery is free, but sadly they’re only open from 10 to 7 on weekdays. It’s certainly a great bang for your buck.

I love this place! It’s right around the corner from where I work and the food is amazing. Angela and her husband own the place and cook everything from scratch. They make soup(they have 3 different soups everyday) and a wide variety of sandwiches. I love the chicken cheesesteak, and their fries are incredible!
