Due to limited dining option outside the security checkpoints, we find ourselves eating here more than most 2 star locations. The food has been good and could have earned another star, but the service and need for some renovations and upkeep prevent that from happening. Service is very slow even though the place has never been full when I’ve eaten there and I don’t think I’ve seen more than 2 people working the main dining area. Compared to other airports BWI is lacking in the pre-security offerings, but this place will provide you with a decent bite and cold drink.

Going back over some photos, I appear to have forgotten to review this place. I’m not surprised. Forgettable. Two stars because of a few local brews on tap, and also by rating relative to what else is in BWI. I can’t remember exactly what I had, but I’m not sure that anything else they serve is different.

Came here after looking for a bar to hang out in. I’m new to glen burnie and decided to give this place a try. The service was good and friendly. We tried their«famous» chicken wings… They were alright. Tasty but not amazing. Drinks were tasty but not terribly strong. Overall, it was a ho-hum experience and I would return if I wanted to dine-in for wings somewhere rather than order out.

Okay… the service you get here makes McDonalds look like a five star restaurant. I was looking for food and stopped by Bill Bateman’s Bistro since I was craving a nice burger. I should have ran when it took a while to be greeted(even unenthusiastically) and seated. After waiting for 20 minutes for a greeting my server arrives and just says very unenthusiastically if I was ready to order. No greeting at all… well at least he got to the point. When I got the food, I didn’t have napkins or utensils, and omg it takes forever for someone to pass by so that they can get them for me. The food was old, slightly cold and not worth it. I ate some food and wanted the check. After 30 minutes of not seeing my server, I ask another server who was walking by for my check. 15 minutes later no check… I ask again… the server tells my server to get me my check… 15 minutes pass longer… i just want to walk out at this point… the other server comes to see if I got my check, which I didn’t. I wait another 15 minutes and my server finally walks by and says you want your check? Omg when he printed it out I threw some cash on the table(since a credit card would have taken I don’t know how long) and ran out. OMG I will never come back to this place.

Typically, I hate airport food. I usually end up going to a fast food chain like McD’s when I fly mostly because I at least know what I am getting. I’ve tried all sorts of places; the CPK and Chili’s inside of Phoenix Sky Harbor, the Ruby’s diner inside of LAX… all of them suck. However, we got a pretty decent meal at BWI(Baltimore) yesterday that I just had to give credit to. The Bill Bareman’s Bistro inside of the airport isn’t a fancy joint by any means, but the service is good and the atmosphere is laid-back. I had a bacon cheeseburger that was good, but not great. I especially liked it because it tasted like a backyard burger– grill marks, char, and all. However, it was a little dry and the buns were a little too toasted. Boyfriend got the cream of crab soup, which smelled very fresh and we shared an order of their original buffalo wings. Tangy and a little spicy– good sized wings with just the right amount of sauce. I was a big fan of them, but have a low spice tolerance so I only had 2 or 3. If you’re in the area, go here for beer and wings– good for solo travelers and families. Low prices, too.

I virtually always come here before I fly out of BWI since it is close to USAir ticketing and the USAir terminal. I always order a Blue Moon or two or… Sometimes I do have the food. It’s OK. Solid bar food. IE decent Philly cheese steak, yummy spicy chicken sandwich et cetera. I always seem to get good service here. The staff are always very courteous to me and efficient with getting my food and beer to me. One cool feature of this bar that is cool is that there are two video displays that show flights and their status so you know for sure if there is time or not for you to have another Blue Moon before you go through security. No it’s not modern looking or trendy, but it is clean, efficient and conveniently located. I am sure I will continue to come here whenever I am flying out of BWI.

I arrived around 2pm and ordered a salad. There were two workers, but one worker was mainly working the floor. He was the waiter, the bartender and the bus boy. He worked VERY diligently. Watching him constantly on the move working made me tired! My salad was very good. I forget the name of the salad but it had romaine lettuce, walnuts, dried cranberries, and chicken with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Service was good. Prices were reasonable, and I enjoyed the dining atmosphere. There were plenty of televisions to watch here and it was not too loud. If I got stuck at the airport I wouldnt mind coming back to this place for a meal.

BWI is a shockingly pleasant airport. Sadly, Bill Bateman’s Bistro is every bit as depressing as you might imagine an airport sports bar to be. We attempted to cope by ordering two pints of Blue Moon, a crab pretzel, some southwestern chipotle chicken egg rolls, and a plate of chicken sliders. Meh. I’ve experienced better. Yet another reminder to myself: bring your own in-flight food!
