This 7-Eleven added some much needed convenience to the neighborhood. Ever since the Fresh and Greens closed the ability to run a grab a quick something) jar of peanut butter, box of cereal, milk, gum). whatever if it is you needed was lacking. There is another 7-eleven up the at Charles and Centre but on those particularly cold & rainy days I’m not feeling the walk of 5 blocks for some cereal. It has a really good selection of items a decent balance of healthy choices and junk food. They even have a sections of 7-eleven packaged snacks, banana chips, chocolate covered pretzels, wasabi peas and other items. As most 7-elevens great drink selections. Energy drinks, Coconut Water, Water, Milk, Fruit Drinks, coffees and teas. Seems as though most times I go in there everything appears to be fresh. But then again I dont typically eat the hot foods, or «bakery» items. But on appearance it always looks clean. I work close by so I am in here enough… at least 1 or 2 a week. I walk in I say«good morning» and smile. And most days I get nothing back even if there is no one at the counter, even if the person is just standing behind the counter staring … nothing. On the out way I say«have a good day» … and I get nothing. Im not asking for a red carpet roll out. Im not asking for a song and dance routine. Im not asking for them shout«NORM» as I walk in. This isnt cheers. But it is a costumer service based business, so a mere mumble of a «good morning», «good afternoon», «have a nice day» or for that matter«you too» would be nice. And this isnt just me saying this. My whole office says the same thing. There are a select few(very few) employees that speak without my prompting or at least speak back. I used to work in retail… I worked in retail for about 8 years. So I get the exhausting constant chit chat and small talk with people you dont know, and I get bad days. But geeze this 7-eleven opened about 3 months ago. Sorry for the rant but customer service and dirty bathrooms are my pet peeves #endrant The other thing is the awkward entrance … I guess its a ramp but I have seen multiple people trip over the side. Its hard to explain. You pull the door open and if there is line then you try to veer over the right but then you catch the height difference in the floor and you trip. I do it all the time. But thats just a bad desing flaw and this is me giving a warning when you walk. not to trip. Who knew a 7-eleven review would be so long.
