I’ve been here multiple times since 3 Bean has opened. I’ve tried a variety of menu items and have been satisfied with everything that I’ve tried. Staff has always been friendly and helpful! I appreciate this business as they sell local, Baltimore made goods. Some other reviews say prices are a bit high but I’m willing to pay a little extra to support local business and GOOD quality items. Definitely worth giving this place a visit. The atmosphere is great. I’ve been lucky enough to never have a problem parking. Very short walk to the harbor and Fed Hill.

I am sitting in this amazing coffee shop, and instead of being productive, I decided to wax poetically on Unilocal on how great this place is. The coffee is delicious, but the ambiance is what makes this place. The clean, modern design of the space makes it comfortable. There is a really nice view of the harbor with lots of natural lighting. Seating and parking were easy. The music selection is key – I don’t usually listen to whatever classic easy-listening rock they’re playing, but I am loving it. If you have an afternoon to kill in Baltimore, then this is your spot.

Was in need of Java fix while in Baltimore. This was close by was warmly greeted by both the Barista and his fellow worker. He made me a perfect Caramel Latte with a nice design in the froth!

Yes local cafes win again. The seating area is in a separate room from where you order but that helps to eliminate the noise of you want a quiet experience. Long tables, window front bar, individual tables and couches — plenty to choose from. Also free wifi and outlets. I never order pie simply not a pie person. But the seasonal mixed berry pie was warm, gooey, buttery and so refreshingly good! Not too sweet and a mix of fresh raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. Hot chocolate was average and actually lukewarm. Friendly staff!

Dropped by 2 days in a row now because of the shortage(absence?) of good coffee in Fed Hill/Riverside. Happily, this new, 3 month old entry tops everything in the neighborhood, far better than Spoons or Starbucks out on Fort Ave. Though Koba is an exception, its non-central location is a hit against it. Plus, 3 Bean offers a different type of good service. Excellent coffee knowledge without pretense. Interesting factoid: the owner lives in the block behind the café and apparently noticed to utter lack of good coffee in our neighborhood, so kudos for fixing that. Snagged a perfectly balanced Corrado, and a nice single brew from Counter Culture. Space is nice, lots of light, conveniently(if awkwardly) positioned on Key Hwy in that weird bit of commercial strip mall west of Fed Hill Park. Parking by meter out front, but 2 h free parking in the neighborhood during the days. All in all, very happy and hope to continue returning daily for the foreseeable future.

Great little coffee shop to spend the afternoon in. We got the speciality lattes which were the eggnog and gram cracker lattes… the eggnog was fantastic and didn’t have a strong eggnog flavor so don’t be put off by that if your not an eggnog lover and the gram cracker was good as well but in the sweet side. Also got the Maple honey latte and I’d steer clear Of that one unless you like extremely sweet coffee. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy.

This café is so full of #win. * Pourover coffee from Counter Culture Coffee, made perfectly to order, with every sip bursting with complex aromatic notes. * Inventive seasonal lattes sending you into the perfect holiday mood. * Dangerously Delicious quiches and pies(both savory and sweet) warmed up perfectly to order. If you’ve never had a Dangerously Delicious pie, you’re missing out. They are delicate and crispy on the outside, while being soft, moist, and flavorful on the inside. * Baked goods delivered daily from the Amish bakery in Pennsylvania. In particular, I recommend the cinnamon roll. It’s simply the best I’ve ever had: soft, not overpoweringly sweet, slathered on top with real cream cheese frosting. * Hardwood tables for sitting and studying, lounges for relaxing, and yes, even a Christmas tree * Picturesque view of the Inner Harbor and Maryland’s Science Center * A treasure chest full of books, coloring books, and markers to fulfill every(inner) child’s dream This café simply has something for everyone, and most notably, an assortment of sweet/savory food and drinks that are sure to please anyone’s palate. On a casual weekend morning, you can find young families stopping by and enjoying the ambiance while their children color away. You can find students studying with their laptops. You can find young couples enjoying each other’s company while taking in the amazing view of Inner Harbor. The staff is friendly and engaged, and clearly cares a lot about their product. I’m so thrilled that such an excellent café has opened in Baltimore!

Most people are aware of my love of coffee shops. When ever I see a new one I have to urge to pop in, check out the ambiance and grabbing a drink. Since I was in the area I stopped in to see what the new coffee shop on the block was doing. There was plenty of pay parking in front and the street parking was decent if you only plan on staying for a couple of hours. The staff were super nice and pleasant. I opted to get my chi tea and muffin to go but after a peak around the place it looks like it would be cozy to settle in and get some work done. I do have to say it wasn’t the best chi I’ve had but I’m willing to give a different drink a try next time.

There’s no shortage of coffee shops in Baltimore, that’s for sure. However, for the most part they’re located in Hampden or Mount Vernon, unfortunately, there are very few in Federal Hill. Fortunately for me, 3 Bean Coffee just opened in Federal Hill and they brew Counter Culture Coffee which is perhaps my favorite brand of coffee. A friend and I were looking to grab coffee and something very quick for breakfast so we decided to walk over to 3 Bean Coffee. Because it was very early and we needed a coffee jolt, I started with a Latte. The latte had latte art, which is just something that makes me happy as I sip my beverage, but otherwise it was a very good latte which is really a testament to the coffee beans they use. My friend ordered the Coffee Cake because 3 Bean Coffee has a lot of coffee options and pastries, but don’t go there if you’re expecting an egg sandwich(venture to Dooby’s, it’s worth it!) The coffee cake was buttery with a hint of cinnamon, it was a great accompaniment to a cup of coffee. To pair with my cup of coffee, I ordered a slice of pie. 3 Bean Coffee sources their pies from Dangerously Delicious Pies. Dangerously Delicious has been on my Baltimore bucket list for a while, I just haven’t made it there yet. However this Chocolate Chess Pie gave me a reason to venture over to Canton for some more pies. The pie was a chocolate mouse consistency over flaky pie crust and probably one of the best pies I’ve ever had. Coffee and great pie for breakfast, what’s not to love? 3 Bean Coffee also has ice cream and some other wonderful looking pastries on their menu. If you’re looking for something on the sweet side, I’d highly recommend a stop there for your next coffee break.

Cozy little spot directly across the Inner Harbor with great pastries and chai. The staff was very friendly(smiling is contagious here) and the service was very speedy considering the huge running event right across the street at Rash Field(5K race). The environment is that of a hidden city gem; a rustic but homey coffee shop comfortable for all, not to mention EVERY seat in the house boasts a clear view of the Inner Harbor and downtown Baltimore. I would definitely come back for coffee and a quiche next time because my experience was so good!

Beautiful view of the harbor. Great coffee.(Latte art! So cool!) Dangerously Delicious Pies. Cool interior. What more can you ask for? This is a great place to study or meet with friends. It’s a little pricey, but it’s worth it. You are getting value for your bucks.

Best cappuccino I’ve had in a while! I love the little story behind their name, that all of their items are made from the coffee, cacao or vanilla beans! The interior was nice, a bit small, but a good variety of seating from tables, to high tops, window counters, and couches. One of the only spots left for me was the couch, no complaints there, other than it was tough to eat my dangerously delicious pot pie on the comfy couch. Whilst eating and sipping my coffee, I got right to work with their free wifi after the nice cashier gave me the password. My only complaint(other than the music playing exclusively Coldplay, yuck ;)) is that they asked me to move so they could put up their Christmas tree. Nooo biggie that they politely asked me to move, but I had assumed they would actually be putting it up. So when I packed up and moved, they put the tree next to where I was sitting, then a new group of people came over to take the spot I had been sitting, and the tree was then ignored. Did I really have to move, if all you had to do was lay the tree against the wall? That definitely wouldn’t stop me from coming back but was a bit irksome.

Seems like there’s been a new wave of coffeeshops hitting Baltimore. 3 Beans is one of the newest. It’s located across the street from the Maryland Science Center in Fed Hill. The interior looks like a typical coffeeshop with dark, earthy tones. However, what separates this place from many others is the amazing view of Baltimore from the window. You can see the entire harbor if you sit at the seats by the window :) The seating area, however, is a little on the small side. In terms of coffee, it’s good. I ordered a latte and it was everything you’d expect a latte to be: rich and creamy, yet still retaining much of the coffee flavor. For you latte art fans, they also do that here. Next time I’ll try their normal coffee; they have regular brewed coffee, pour-over coffee, and I think I even saw an option for aeropress coffee. There’s also a decent selection of teas and specialty drinks. You can also get snacks and pastries as well. I didn’t get to try any on my last visit, but I’m sure I will at some point in the future as I definitely plan to come back!

I was really excited to try this new coffee shop located by the harbor but was slightly disappointed. The prices are high which is to be expected from this type of establishment but 1 dollar surcharge for soy milk? I simply don’t think that is fair nor reflective of the actual price difference in those products. I ordered a café au last which is usually priced between a drip coffee and a latte which makes sense if you think about the work involved, however here I was charged the price of a latte. This would all be okay if the coffee was exceptional. I would say it’s better than average but not exceptional. One last tip… I went on a busy Saturday morning. The barista ringing me up poured coffee into the cup and then placed it in line for the barista making drinks to add steamed milk… which meant that when he finally got to it 10 min later my coffee was no longer hot. That simply does not make sense so I would suggest adopting a different system. Honestly I should have asked for him to remake it but I hate doing that so I didn’t. The actual location is very light and airy and has ample seating. Maybe I would go back and give them another chance but for now this place is just okay.

I didn’t realize I was dating a millionaire until I heard of this place. My boyfriend comes here weekly, sometimes twice a week. He spends over $ 7 per cup of coffee(pour-overs). I’ve tried their hot coffee, I personally don’t like the roasts of the coffee sold here. I also can’t justify the prices for the coffees here, or anything else. The interior is very nice, but I don’t come here unless my boyfriend drags me. I guess if you’re really into coffee, this is a great new establishment to the Baltimore area, but for the rest of us it’s just overpriced coffee. Also, parking is SUCH a hassle.

Great new coffee shop in Federal Hill! The inside is really nice, with a modern industrial feel that still feels warm due to a lot of wood accents. They have some parking outside, and a good amount of parking nearby(if you’re fast you won’t need to feed any meters). Inside they have a variety of seating options, from hightops and couches, to small tables and counter space. They sell a variety of snack items including energy bars, chocolate, and baked goods. But the standout here is the coffee. They do coffee really well, and unlike a lot of places, they do it every way you can imagine. Cold brew, immersion pour over, aero press, french press, espresso, and everything in between. I prefer the pour over with an Ethiopian bean if available. It may take a little longer, but their coffee is special. They get all of the facets of the coffee, with just the right amount bitterness and acid. I guess weighing and timing the preparation isn’t just for show! I’m sad to say I’ve yet to try the espresso straight up, but if it’s anything like the other drinks I’ve had, it’s probably great. They do have free wifi, so if you need somewhere to get some work done, this is a great spot! And if you’re in the inner harbor, it’s about a 5 minute walk to get here(i fyou need to relax somewhere away from the crowds.

New coffee shop opened on Key Hwy. Across the street from the Science Center and just west of Federal Hill Park. It has a very cool industrial vibe with a large sipping area. I have been here at least 4 times. It is definitely a place I want to hang out. As far as the coffee goes, it is delicious. My only reservation is their consistency. But, like I said, they are brand new. I fully expect that to go away in a few weeks. Can’t wait to go back.

…Ode to 3 Bean Coffee… People do crazy stuff to enjoy and have fun. For me, I get my fun doses at nice coffee places. I’d have a blast at any coffee shop that has conducive-to-studying/working atmosphere, comfortable chairs, smart and interesting interior décor, beautiful views and good coffee, and of course all of that with good company. This place is my kinda hanging out spot! Every college town deserves a coffee shop like 3 Bean Coffee. It just opened 2 weeks ago(today is 10÷6÷15, I think) and their grand opening is next Saturday. Staff are the most welcoming, hospitable and pleasant. The mixture of lovely coffee smell and fresh wood subconsciously touch the human heart! Comfy wooden chairs and tables smell like freshly cut pine and eucalyptus wood. It’s a sublime fragrance! There is a high table and seats with views of Key Hwy and Baltimore downtown. Red brick walls are a muse to artistic eyes. Internet is super fast. Atmosphere was fantastic! Bathroom is super clean and cozy. Low calories latte was great! Kudos to 3 Bean Coffee designer and founder!

I love this place for studying. It is quiet, with lots of natural light from the huge window, with individual tables outfitted with adjacent outlets along the wall for laptops and phones. For group studying, there is also a long hi-top bench and a comfortable couch. The colors are contemporary orange and wood paneling combo that, when paired with the open, airy space is quite comforting. I am in love with the coffee here. They embrace Ethiopian blends that are fair trade and embrace the natural roast flavor of the bean. My favorite is the Finca El Puente from Honduras, served in its own individual glass carafe that looks like a truncated Erlenmeyer flask. Though their pastry selection is small, they are still new, and I’d prefer their attention to detail reserved for its excellent coffee beans and ambience. Located right across from the Science Center, it had gorgeous views of the downtown Baltimore skyline. All-in-all a perfect study spot to keep you on point. Hopefully the hours will become later as it grows in popularity.

Synopsis: Atmosphere: 5⁄5 Service: 5⁄5 Taste: 5⁄5 Price: 4.5÷5 Selection: 4.5÷5 This review is more of a first impression because I have only tried it once(brand new after all), so my review will be updated after more visits. However, this place so far has me very pleased. The people that were working there were very nice and talkative when asked questions. The service seemed a little disorganized when I was there for my visit, but they were juggling not only multiple orders from multiple people but also questions, so that could have been a reason. I am sure the operation will be super smooth after this business gets started. The price for my pour over was only slightly more than I paid for before. Now the beans come from a different provider, but the price is well worth the taste because the taste is excellent. The cup of coffee I got was so delicious and requires no adulteration with cream or sugar. As for pricing/taste of other foods and coffees I cannot judge on, so my update later will include those, but so far so good. The selection of coffee and foods seems to be the normal for this type of business. They have ice cream, all coffee things you can imagine, as well as other café treats. I am sure they have more than I am mentioning, but that is what I saw. As for the atmosphere it is very nice. It has an urban rustic appeal, and it feels like a chill place to grab your coffee and do some work. The main window also faces the harbor, so you will have a nice view. Overall, this new business seems very promising and I will become a regular for sure. If you like coffee I would easily recommend this place to you.
