Worst produce ALWAYS! Everything is either picked way too early, always tasteless, dry … Other Vons stores have much better produce… Is it your broker, manager, What? There’s no excuse!

Love this Vons! They always have everything I need, the location is just right and the staff is always super friendly. Prices are decent and the products are of high quality. The weekly specials are also great and the atmosphere and décor are very pleasing. Not your typical super bright, blinding, fluorescent lighting everywhere, warehouse-​style store. They have a great floral department and Starbucks as well.

I love this particular Vons location. The layout is super weird for a grocery store I feel like, but it had every product I need on a regular basis. The thing that stands out to me about this one is I’ve been to all the other Vons in town and this one has by far had the best customer service… every single time! Everyone is so nice! The sales floor people are easier to track down and ask questions. The cashiers are always really kind and seem genuine. I really like this location.

Love this place! My family and I come here often as we are just around the corner and never fails when we come here. The staff is extremely nice and you can tell the staff is like a family here. This grocery store makes you feel welcomed and it’s a nice feeling to come to a place where there’s always a pleasant face. The produce is always fresh and they have delicious pastries/​baked goods that are just $ 5 daily.

This is my by far the best grocery store in the area. They carry so many quality products you cannot find other places. Uncured lunch meat, bacon, and hot dogs. All sorts of organic produce, dry goods, meats, and cheeses. Their bakery put outs delicious breads and pastries that they manage to keep really fresh. One quam, craft beer selection is just ok, not always the freshest.

Been shopping here for a couple years now and I am very happy with the service and selection. Would give 5 stars but they are a bit pricey. Any time I have needed to return something, which hasn’t been that often, they have refunded my money no problem. When I needed help finding something, they have always been helpful. The kale power food salad is excellent btw.

Nestled in a busy shopping center on Stockdale Highway it’s the best grocery store in town, in my opinion.
Most the time I can’t afford to shop here for all of my groceries. But I do come here for the $ 5 sales on Fridays. They have various items on sale for $ 5 every Friday. Check out the ad in your mailbox and you will see what I’m talking about.
The produce and meat is what I come here for mainly. Top quality and always fresh. I love their meat dept. I get the fresh kebabs by the pound and they are so great for a quick meal in which you don’t want to do any prep. Just throw em on the grill. The gentleman that run that department are just the sweetest guys ever. Always happy to make their customers happy.
I love their wine and flower selection! The floral department makes some very beautiful arrangements.
Bakery has a nice selection of cakes, cookies and pastries. They also sell glass cake stands here. Some really gorgeous ones.

Vons, 5 stars!

I was very hungry as I was driving by this store. So I decided to stop by and pick up a quick warm snack that is also semi-​healthy at least… I was hoping for something other than packaged foods. So I ended up buying some supposedly «warm and fresh potato wedges» from their deli section to eat in the car.
Let me tell ya! The potato wedges were old, and tasted just like cardboard… I don’t know if they were re-​heated in the microwave from the day before, or if they were made in very old oil or what… But it was not good at alll; you might as well eat wood!
If you want fresh tasty delicious deli on the go, this may not be the place! Aside from this, the store seems to be organized, clean, well-​lit, and the staff are friendly; except I wasn’t looking for friends. Some half-​decent potato wedges would have been enough!

Friendly staff and pretty convienient for us since it’s right around the corner from us. Make sure to have a Von’s card or it will get expensive.

You have to try Von’s deli sandwiches. I’m surprised that one of my favorite sandwiches in Bakersfield (and I’ve tried many) comes from Von’s. Any Von’s, they’re all good!
My favorite is the ‘Turkey pesto avo’
On ciabatta bread with mayo, pesto, turkey and a slice if provolone. Then toasted… Double toast it, trust me. Finished with sliced tomato, lettuce, and avocado.

Always great customer service! «Guy» the Manager is always polite!

Joe the cashier was very rude. There was a long line and we saw that the next registrar had his light on. The cashier had no one in his line while every one else had a line. My wife asked him if he was open and he smarted back «well the lights on» you think since he seen lines and no one is at his registrar he would let customers know he can help.

Came by here on my search for a particular drink. Unfortunately, I did not find it here so I left empty-​handed. Did notice that the atmosphere is quite nice. All the aisles and merchandise appeared clean and organized. They also have a Starbucks for you Starbucks lovers out there.
If I lived in the area, I would frequent this establishment.

A decent enough Safeway, er, Vons, location. Nothing extraordinary, but functional. Failed to find any chilled 1 liter soda pops anywhere, but not being the biggest footprint of a store, I could almost forgive it… if not for the 30 – 40 foot showing of chilled beers of all varieties, and another 10-​foot case of juices.

They have great produce deals and great Five dollar Friday deals!

Love the cashiers! I guess I go in there a lot cause they remember me. I usually go late at night and they really need to open more then one register.

This is Vons is the one I frequent the most since it is near my house. They carry just about everything I’m looking for and have a really good bakery. I always end up buying some sort of pastry even if it wasn’t on my list. My favorite thing about this store is the staff. Every employee I’ve ever had contact with was super nice and helpful if I actually needed help finding something.

This Von’s is pretty nice… sexy almost. The lighting is kinda chill and it has a loungey vibe. If I were the type to try to pick up cougars, I would probably be staking out this place.
The meat counter (aka butcher shop) is pretty weak sauce. The produce section is pretty nice, but like most of the big grocery stores, not the freshest. Which is odd because it is in Bakersfield… I am sure the produce gets shipped to San Pedro to sit on a dock for few days before it is properly wilted and bruised before it is shipped to the distribution center where it sits for a couple more days before it finally gets trucked back to Bakersfield. Yeaaa corporate efficiency!
There is also a Starbuck’s kiosk in the store I think.

I like the calmness from this location. I like to get myself a coffee at their starbucks and grocery shop.

Grody sticky chicken packages in the meat department, but otherwise a very nice store and lovely employees. Vons takes Safeway cards and sells Safeway products. Easy parking.
