La Pizza Veloz

Went here for an early Valentine’s Day lunch. I saw the reviews and thought we should try it out. We didn’t have any pizza, but instead went for the seafood pasta which to my surprise was very tasty. Don’t go here expecting a fancy restaurant it’s more of a pizza place that has a little more then your run of the mill place. Will defiantly have to come back to try the pizza. Service was great as well. I didn’t catch the young lady’s name.

So my fiancé took me here for an early Valentine’s lunch because we’re servers and work holidays. #serverlife We were expecting something fancier, but we went with it, and ordered because previous reviews made it sound so outstanding. Instead of getting pizza, calzones, or wedges (typical pizza parlor food) we opted for two different pastas: the seafood pasta, chicken carbonara, and split an antipasta salad. Everything was delicious! The salad was huge and for only $ 8.99. The pastas were also reasonably priced at around $ 12 each. The portions are huge too. We ate ourselves miserable there and still had enough to take home for dinner later on. We definitely plan on coming back to try the pizza, wedges, and other menu offerings-​probably through takeout.

I’m writing this review in my spare time waiting for the pizza I ordered an hour and a half ago, the wedges were delish! However it’s sooooo slow. An hour for pizza? Never again!

I always get the Eggplant parmesan. Lots of cheese and eggplant over a bed of red pasta. Is enough to feed 2 or 3 people. and for $ 10, can’t be beat.
The pizza wasn’t my favorite because I like veggie thick crispy golden crust.
Will have to try the chicken and more dishes.
Wish you would deliver to City of the Hills. Was told we are just over the 2 mile radius. Boohoo.

The All Meat is delicious! They aren’t kidding when they say All Meat. There are delicious Chunks of meat all over this pizza. Next time I’ll ask for extra sauce on it though.

One of my favorite places in Bakersfield to eat!!! Great food !! I always order the eggplant Parmesan or the chicken fajita pizza the price is fair and the portion sizes are big! Both of the plates I am talking about is a must try south flavor ! The place is clean tables are clean! Love the home feeling when I’m eating in this place. Cozy gem must try it! The customer service is wonderful and the bread is to die for !! I always order extra

One of my favorite places. The customer service is amazing and they are so friendly.
Normally I order pizza with friends or pick up pizza for my boyfriend and I. I love their combination and he enjoys their BBQ chicken pizza.
Tonight was special anniversary, so we sat down to eat. They were a little slow at bringing us the menus, but at least we got our drinks fast.
We started out with a small salad. It was delicious, but I wish they would of had some croûton to add on it. The main course came very fast. I was shocked that we were given bread with the Alfredo fettuccine pasta, because before they didn’t. The bread and pasta was delicious and I would chose them over Olive Garden any day.
Overall this is a great place for a date night with a little wine or just a small family dinner.

Love their Chile Verde wedges. Well worth the price. My daughter in law fight over these because they are so amazing. Oh yeah and their pizza is pretty good also. We normally do the Chile Verde pizza and combination. The Chile Verde is pretty good. Definitely spicy.

Love this place. I was surprise to know they served pasta dishes and its some of the best I’ve tasted in this town. The pizza is good and you can taste how fresh the ingredients are. I did not give them 5 stars because I think the place can use a facelift. Will definitely be back.

I come here for lunch and get their «submarine» sandwich. It has a few different types of cold cuts with cheese, tomatoes, peppers and lettuce. I love it! They make great pizza too.
Their prices aren’t the best in town (7.50 $ for the submarine) but the food is definitely great.

Hawaiian pizza is amazing from here under $ 20 for a large. The zucchini sticks were not as good as I hoped. Some were well done others were undercooked because the sticks were different sizes. Pizza was amazing though and will order that again

Really, really yummy pizza!!! The prices are really nice, and the staff is great! I love that the sauce isn’t too strong but, doesn’t lack flavor. The crust is soooo good! My favorite is the supreme pizza. My hunny and I go here anytime were craving pizza, with prices and the freshness of the food I don’t feel guilty for going once a week

Just like the name of this restaurant, they are quick! in a good way…
A group of friends and us got together on Sunday May the 10^th, we made plans to go to a different restaurant, called ahead and were told there was no wait time and food was served fast (did a review on it) anyway, we decided to leave and come here to Pizza Veloz. We were attended quick and efficiently.
We shared a large chile verde pizza, large feduccini alfredo pizza, wedges, spicy wings and salad…
Excellent food, great taste, flavorful. Environment is very casual and chill.
I do recommend this establishment to others
the only downfall, is the location… ehhh not a fan ;)

The salad was made of very fresh ingredients. We ordered extra cheese on our pizza, and boy did they add extra cheese!!!

Pizza Veloz has an amazing Chile Verde Pizza and Chicken Alfredo Pizza. I ordered ½ and ½. The price for a large was $ 20. Pretty large pizza and tasted delicious. Definately would order again!

Ate there once around fall ’14. Had a salad before eating a personal pan pizza. Found a bug inside my salad. A dead greenish bug on my lettuce.
pizza was ok.
Not ever going again.

Fyi, I’m not a pro. I’m a normal guy who loves to eat. I started Unilocaling to help others find delicious places to eat.
I’ve been to this place three times. It’s amazing! In my opinion this places kills Olive Garden. Especially because it’s cheaper.
Let’s start with the spaghetti and meatballs. The spaghetti is cooked through and the meatballs are hot and fresh. Not fatty at all. I only wish they would add a third ball. Mmm balls. ;) lol jk. This plate comes with side bread and a small (lettuce, cucumber, and tomato) «salad.» Also, the side bread is so soft and crispy. They butter it and it’s delicious! Best part: $ 9.99!
The Parmesan chicken is my favorite. Two big chicken breasts on top of a bed of spaghetti. The best part is its piled with hot melted cheese! The chicken is hot and cooked perfectly. Sauce isn’t overpowering and combines deliciously with the cheese. I love the cheese! $ 13.99!
The pizza is up there. I want to say it’s close to the best pizza in town. Yes, up there (if not better than) with Tony’s! Here’s the thing. I love Tony’s pizza because of the toppings, cheese, and the crust is perfect. However, they’re stingy with the toppings. I used to be all about Magoos because they would PILE the toppings, but the crust would be too soft. This pizza is perfect. Soft is crunchy and warm, but not hard. And they pile just enough toppings. Definitely filling and feels fresh. Almost as fresh as the toppings at Boss’s Pizza downtown.
If you think I’m over exaggerating, try it for yourself. Great food, great price, great atmosphere. Don’t forget the great price! :)

Living in NYC, I definitely miss this place. Very family friendly and the employees are very good at customer service.
The food is like heaven and I love the chile verde pizza. Great for a football game or takeout.

Occasionally I find myself in Bakersfield. Not knowing anyone to ask, in situations like this I usually Unilocal for my meals. After checking into my hotel room, my associate and I headed out to La Pizza Veloz. Located in a strip mall with another pizza restaurant and a Mexican food restaurant adjacent! Going inside, the bright florescent lights, and framed football jerseys hanging from the walls (including Troy Aikmans) did nothing to contribute to the traditional Italian neighborhood restaurant atmosphere that we expected to find. Tables lined the walls and looked more like a deli or sandwich shop, not an established Italian restaurant serving finely prepared foods, wine and beer.
Looking at the menu, we noted descriptions of delicious sounding foods including all the traditional pastas and pizzas. A whole section was dedicated to different calazone with pictures and listings of the ingredients that convinced both of us that is what we must order even after we were warned of a 30 minute wait for our dinner to bake. Me, enjoying a glass of red and he nursing a cold Cervesa, dinner finally arrived.
We were truly expecting something much less in magnitude, like a folded in half portion that may push our appetite’s limits but not drive us over the top to the gluttony we were each destined to face.
He had ordered a small with all the meats and my dinner was stuffed with generous portions of melted cheese, Italian sausage, pepperoni, black olives, peppers, mushrooms and onions sided with a bowl of heated marinara sauce to top it off. Each small calzone portion was enough for serving 2 appetites and we both had a plate of calzone in front of us! After consuming half, to go boxes were in order and I knew what was in store for me for breakfast!
The food deserves 5 stars, the bright lit room and lack of red checkered table clothes with no vino bottles hanging from the ceiling, plummeted the rating down to 4 stars. Service was attentive without being intrusive. This is a great place for a family or just bring the kids or business associates and eat but definitely not a romantic or traditional Italian experience.

My husband and I came here for dinner tonight, with a Spotted Fox voucher in hand. We’ve never been to this part of town before, but glad we were able to experience it. :)
Upon arriving, we proceeded to order:
Chicken Carbonara (with asparagus, chicken, bacon) — creamy and rich parmesan sauce with spaghetti. It was surprisingly flavorful; yet, as we were eating it – I was thinking about how many calories it must be with all the bacon + cream!
Pizza Fra Diabolo (chicken, garlic, and peppercinis) — my husband ordered a medium and we still ended up with 2 slices leftover. Pizza was heavily laden with cheese, but we couldn’t taste the garlic for some reason. Nothing too out of the ordinary for this pizza — interesting that it had some peppercinis scattered throughout as a topping.
Overall, big portions and friendly service! Glad we were able to get our Italian pasta + pizza fixin’ tonight.
