I grew up a teenager in the 90s remember running to the local music store to buy the latest CD. Through evolution of technology I watched my adventures to find the hottest music at a store to downloading MP3s. I cannot even remember when was the last time I stepped into a music store but now I entered FYE. FYE reminds me of the swap meet I used to visit when I lived in Earlimart which is about 50 minutes north of Bakersfield. The ways it does is majority of the merchandise here are products not doing so well, maybe even stuff people just don’t care for anymore. My reason for visiting FYE was for Kareoke CDs for my sons birthday party, okay I can’t lie, I was also looking for 90s RAP Kareoke haha. FYE is not just about CDs, they also have DVDs and Blu-ray movies, but of course with technology that is withering away too. What FYE has for them, at least in my opinion is the novelties they sell, T-Shirts, Funko Pop figures, etc. They have a large area for Funko Pop figures, if you’re like my wife who collects these, it will have you stuck there for at least 5 minutes sorting through the ones they have. Unless you are a die hard CD collector or a Funko Pop collector, there is not much here but if you have time to kill it is worth to drop by because you may find something cool. They do have alot of Marvel shirts, especially Deadpool. A little saddening to see something I grew up and saving my money to buy, slowly go away.

About a month a came looking for the soundtrack to Kill Bill. Kinda disappointed it wasn’t available and it took the staff a really long time to tell no they make it there. The temperature was incredibly hot and made for a frustrating experience. It’s s fun place to reminisce on old movies but other then that I doubt I’d be back as I feel I can find most and more of what they have on the Firestick and online.

Earlier this month I was on a mission searching for some CD+G’s for my 11 year old’s karaōke birthday party and although I didn’t find any CD+G’s with some 90’s music I ended up looking around for other things at this place. I am a Pop Funko fanatic and started collecting these figures since 2011 and I was obsessed w their wall of Funko figurines(Nerd toys). I then noticed a wall with cool backpacks and it just dawned upon me that I know about video games wayy too much… I don’t know if it was the tri-force that caught my attention or the bowser shell/koopa troopa shell that did it. I also noticed tons of cool shirts and tons of deadpool gear. They even had a deadpool face mask that looked quite interesting and looked like something my 16yr old would definitely sport. To make a long story short, I thought FYE was nothing but CDs, DVDs, and electronics. I never knew it was filled with attire and toys for geeks. I will definitely be back. I enjoyed walking around. I almost forgot that I wasn’t a kid.

I was looking for some Christmas items I was having trouble finding other places. I always forget about this place unless I am looking for CDs really. Not only was I able to find the CD I was looking for, but found a bunch of other things for people I didn’t even know they had. I got posters, t-shirts, hats/beanies, key chains, and more. They have popular movie and tv show stuff. My son is very much into Nightmare Before Christmas right now and I was having trouble finding stuff. But, Fye had stuff and at a reasonable price too. I also had a Walking Dead fan to buy for and they had tons of stuff there. They had several items on-sale and buy one, get one or buy one, get 50% off. The customer service is great as well. Several different employees asked if I needed help and went out of their way to see if they had an item in stock. I will definitely have to remember this place when I am shopping for gifts.

I love FYE. for starters the prices are insane! Got 4 seasons of Sons of Anarchy for $ 30 ha they always have a deal going on! MOST of the staff know us and are super sweet funny and helpful! The only downside is their new employees… dealt with one who was rude got a sale wrong and honestly looks like she hates her job! Move over I’ll take it! Right now all used buy one get one 50% off

Driving up for a Cody Simpson in-store meet/greet, I honestly had no idea what to expect. We arrived without the required wristbands and the staff was great to let us in before the crowd so we could make the necessary purchases without loosing our place in line. Really friendly, considering the onslaught they were about to face, and made sure it was a great experience for my daughters and their friends. I can only imagine having to deal with 200 screaming girls, then get them into a single file line after he did an acoustic set, which they handled very well. At events like this the staff can be complete asses, which makes it even less enjoyable for the parents, but the crew at FYE were awesome. I briefly walked the store which has a mix of both new and used with prices that were better than expected. Plus your assortment of shirts, hats and other movie items. I’d be hard pressed to make an 80 minute drive for a CD purchase but would definitely stop by if I was in the area.

I am only giving them one star because I have to. Otherwise it would be none. This company makes a profit buying stolen merchandise then refusing to help the person who has been stolen from. They don’t care about anything but making a profit. I encourage all to shop somewhere else so maybe this company might rethink its policies.

The staff is very friendly and always wanting to help. The store is clean and the items are easy to find. They also sell used music and movies that are at a great price.
