College Coffee & Donuts

I am not a big fan of donuts… but I go for their Kona coffee. The guy made an iced one just the way I wanted. not too sweet and bitter a little bit. I can grab a sandwich from next door and the coffee from here. A meal plan completed near BC.

I’m good with a cup of Joe and a great donut, especially a apple fritter — which this place makes the best! The cake donuts could use a little more pizzazz, but their moist enough. I like lots of icing on my donuts. This place is worth the effort though and I’ll keep on coming back.

There aren’t many donut shops on the east side, so when I found this one a while back I was very happy to find a good one so close to home. Located in the Albertsons shopping center which means that it’s easy to get to and the parking is ample. College Coffee and Donuts has a very large selection of donuts and other pastries (including cookies) which is surprising considering that the location is pretty small. They also have a smoothie bar and serve different selections of hot and cold coffee. The donuts are always very fluffy and moist. Even at noon, their donuts aren’t stale. The only problem is that because the location is smaller, there isn’t a lot of seating inside. Several people were seated already which with us would of made if really cramped. So, we took our donuts and drinks to the car. A big plus… they have crushed ice for their fountain drinks! My favorite donut that is not really found at other places is the peanut butter bar. It has peanut butter and chocolate chips on top as well as in the middle. They also have cronuts, eclairs, and different crème filled selections you don’t usually see at other shops.

Great little donut shop located on the northeast side of town. The staff is friendly and service is quick. Donuts always taste fresh & the prices are very competitive. They also have great tasting frappes and coffee. They recently just added smoothies to their menu and I’m looking forward to trying it soon.

I was an out of area visitor on this day and was requested to bring donuts to the family event. I did what I do most often when seeking out places, I went to Unilocal to see what fellow Unilocalers have said.
This was on the way to where I was going and got pretty good ratings. Besides the pictures of the donuts looked really good. I decided to give it a go.
It turned out to be a great donut shop which also sells other foods and drinks. They had plenty of donuts on hand and they looked great. I bought 2 dozen assorted.
well everyone at the breakfast loved 5hem and said they were so big! on a side note, the service was very good.
Next time I’m visiting I will buy a dozen!

Today they had Cherry, Banana, Red Velvet, Cronuts, and many other awesome options. I’m so excited for their sprinkled glazed donuts (always used to pick off the frosting on the old style sprinkled donuts) in a rainbow of colors, my kids were so happy and got one blue and white. I enjoyed my glazed twist.
Love this place, never disappoints.

Our donut gem on the east side. I stumbled upon it with my 2.5 year old daughter when we moved to Bakersfield over a year ago and I thought it was the best donut place, but surely I thought that there would be some competition. After a year now and trying donuts in all the «popular» places, this one still reigns supreme. I love he smoothie and coffee drinks too and the service is always great.

I finally came here last week! I had a little breakfast emergency where I forgot mine on the counter at home, so I stopped here. It’s got a wonderful location if you are stopping on the way to BC, no awkward turns just a right in, and then when you’re done ita a right back out of the parking lot. That saves tons of time. The girl that helped me was super friendly! I tried just one donut, a basic chocolate bar. It wasn’t the best donut ove ever had, but I’ve certainly had worse. I will be back to try more types soon.

I’ve been visiting this donut shop for many, many years. Unquestionably the best donuts in town.

I was tired of getting those dried up gas station doughnuts, so I decided to go to the source. These doughnuts pack a tasteful punch. Soft, fluffy and sweet enough!!! Services are fast, friendly and welcoming. Great selection even in the afternoon for that sweet tooth fix, and they also have a smoothie bar with fresh ingredients. If you are in east Bakersfield, a got stop for that sweet tooth

Donuts/​breakfast pastry are seriously delicious! The coffee? Terrible! Like cold tap water run over whole coffee beans for a second– but less flavor. Seriously frustrating to go to a donut shop that sells awful coffee. Do yourself a favor, grab the donuts here and get your coffee elsewhere, heck– the AM/​PM across the street has better coffee.

This is an update– my most favorite donut shop now has a smoothie bar. I love it. After a hard 6 mile hike or a good workout at the gym I come here and create a good protein endowed smoothie. A great finish to my workout. They have a nice variety of fresh fruits and greens. Give them a try

Best boba In town so many things to choose from it’s awesome donuts are soft not as greasy as other places. Customer service is outstanding price is good. Must try the New York style donuts ! Clean and feels cozy ! This place has a lot to offer must try !! We will be back

This is the best donut shop in Bakersfield it out does any other one the donuts are always fresh restaurant is very clean the coffee is always fresh and strong you can make your own smoothies from fresh assorted ingredients the fruit is very fresh also they have a wide variety of drinks the staff is very friendly and polite I highly recommend this place stop by and check them out you will not be disappointed. Plus the prices are very reasonable for the quality of donuts and products you can get.

Hadn’t been here in years but they have upped their game since then. The best donuts in Bakersfield and definitely in the top 10 for the state if not the country. The standard donut shop menu with a few lovely additions like the «NY» style donut and a cinnamon roll that will knock your head for a loop.
Though I have one complaint and that is the coffee. Several «gourmet» options which amount to little more than a string of flavored stale beans. Also they don’t understand how to work their espresso machine or how to make micro foam. In fact their cappuccino come from a separate machine that makes a weird milky substance that you can’t really call cappuccino. On top of all that the coffee section of the store is just dusty and filthy.
In summary. Avoid the coffee, enjoy the donuts.

If your ready for a good shot of sugar in the morning this is the place. Very helpfull employees and the location is very easy to find. They have iced coffees, hot, and even a build your own smoothie bar. Tables out front by a newspaper machine if you want to lounge and kill some time.

Great tasting donuts and now they have a fruit smoothie bar, you pick out what fruit you want put it in a cup and hand over to employee, pick what base you want (coconut milk, green tea, water, ect) and they blend it for you. Always friendly helpful staff.

Went in this morning out of pure temptation… I know I know I should have resisted but I ended up inside only wanting «coffee». Once inside I noted their wide variety of donuts, very impressive. They had a wide variety of coffees to choose from, iced, blended, hot etc. this place definitely caught my attention, what put the icing on the cake was the girl behind the counter who was very helpful, she recommended a few and answered any of the questions I had. I bought a newyork style donut and was impressed, def. will come back.

College Coffee and Donuts is located in close proximity to Bakersfield College so I’m guessing that is the main demographic served by this store. They carry a good variety of donuts including most of the ones you’d expect and a few surprising ones. The ones that really stood out for me were the frosted cake donuts in red velvet, pumpkin spice, and carrot cake, though they also carried donuts that looked like fruit filled burritos.
To increase the number of breakfast options, they also carry a number of breakfast cereals that the customers can serve themselves in little bowls.
They carry an array of different coffee and espresso drinks. I ordered a tall Dutch Chocolate which the boss explained was made with expresso, chocolate syrup, and mint syrup. I have to be honest. The chocolate mint flavor was good, it didn’t measure up to the standard I’m used to at Starbucks.
The main negative — there is no wifi available. I might stop in for a donut and a coffee to go, but it’s probably not a place I’d stay and hang out.
