Chipotle Mexican Grill

Came here after my workout because I was too exhausted to cook something of my own. I settled for the burrito bowl with barbacoa meat, pinto beans, white rice, mild salsa, sour cream, shredded cheese, corn, and guac! They pretty much stacked up and built a tower with all they put in my bowl; it was delicious. I especially like the freshness of all the food items. The only downside is the price. If you want to add more ingredients, it costs more; you also have to consider the price for your drink as well.

One the best chipotles i have ever been to, clean and fast most of the time.
Update 5 stars now: speed has improved and customer service has significantly increased. I was dissatisfied with the quality and the taste of the white rice (too sticky). The manager Susie made things right. Very impressed. One fixed bowl will continue to earn my business.

Chipotle puts you in the driver’s seat to design your own meal. Would you like to order yours as a burrito, a bowl, a salad, hard tacos, or soft tacos? You order and pay up front, so get in the queue and tell the first employee on the assembly line what you’d like and they’ll get it started for you. My personal preference is for the bowl (who needs that old tortilla anyway?). So many options! Cilantro-​lime white rice rice or brown? Pinto beans or black? My old standby is brown rice and black beans. Protein options? Yes, there are a quite a few: steak, carnitas, chicken, barbacoa, or sofritas (vegetarian/​vegan). I like to experiment with these, usually going for barbacoa or sofritas, but I like to branch out on occasion. Four types of salsa? Yes, please; I like to mix and match. My favorite combo is the red chili salsa (hot), fresh tomato salsa (mild), and roasted chili corn salsa (mild). And of course, don’t forget the fajita veggies (lots of them) and lots of crisp fresh lettuce with guacamole on top. The guacamole will cost you a wee bit extra but trust me it is going to make or break your bowl so spring for it. You won’t be sorry. I have heard that there is a ‘secret menu’ for those Chipotle fanatics that are in the know which include quesadillas, nachos, quesaritos, and burritodillas. mmmm mmmm good!
This location has booths and regular tables inside and an L shaped bar backing up to the windows with 7 seats. Outside, there are 16 tables shaded by 6 large black umbrellas so there is plenty of seating.
I’ve only been here a couple of times since this isn’t really my side of town, but my experiences here have been positive. I don’t THINK I have control issues (please don’t consult my ex-​husband if you want an unbiased opinion), but I do love getting to make all my own choices every step of the way. Thanks, Chipotle, for letting me be the master of my own dinnertime destiny.
PS — My mom became a vegan a year ago and this is one of the few restaurants in town where we can BOTH get a satisfying meal that meets our dietary requirements.

This is probably the worst chipotle location in Bakersfield. I’ve been to it many times and the food and service is very inconsistent. They are ALWAYS out of something and it’s extremely frustrating, from the looks of the comments, I’m not the only one who experiences this. One time is was togo bowls, the next time it was cheese, and the next time is was veggies, also the veggies are always left out too long and are soggy. The workers rush through your order, interrupt, and are just downright impatient and rude. From now on, I’ll drive the extra couple minutes to the location on Stockdale.

Our son has told us how good the food was many times before but he lives in the north west and we didn’t know there was a Chipotle on our side of town by Sams Club. So last week was our first visit and we didn’t have a clue. There was no line at 5:30 so we just walked up to the counter. The gentleman at the register welcomed us politely explained what to do, so we went to the other end of the counter to start. The girl at that station wasn’t nearly as friendly and seemed impatient, (we were slow looking at the menu) anyway, by the time we got back the the register we had a beef taco, chicken quesadilla and a Chicken bowl and we’re back to the first gentleman. I believe he was the shift manager, not sure but he made our visit very nice, even checking later to ask what we thought. We were very impressed. I went back today to try something new. This is excellent food and you can pick your calories as you go. These guys are geared to serve food fast so I checked the menu before I went. Excellent again. I see why my son eats at his Chipotle 3 to 4 times a week.

Usually a good experience, but not today.
Employees working the line messed everything up, despite me trying to correct them over and over. I ended up just leaving my meal behind and just my kids ate. They just didn’t listen to me, period!
The girl who seemed to be the one training another staff member was beyond rude. Told me «we can’t do that» when I asked for chopped tomatoes, even though I’ve gotten this millions of times. Then when I asked the very next crew member the same question, the tomatoes appeared from the back.
Both the kids meals were screwed up, the quesadilla wasn’t anything close to what we always get. I tired to explain but they didn’t want to listen, they instead just kept interrupting me.
They were more concerned about refilling the containers of food on the line, than they did about helping me the customer.
Like I said, it’s usually pretty good but today was a huge disappointment. I will try it again and if I receive the same crappy customer service, I will not ever return to this location.
Now at home making dinner for my kids, as Chipotle totally failed me.

Chipotle is definitely one of my favourite places to go eat because the atmosphere is not loud and the food is fresh and great. I like this location because it isn’t as busy as the others, and the staff is friendly.

My family and I love Chipotle… But this location is by far the definition disgusting. We had stopped coming here due to lack of BASIC cleanliness and watching employees cut in line and receiving free food. We lodged a complaint about six months ago with the manager and corporate and started to see an improvement. Unfortunately, this location in particular, had clearly regressed. The tables are left with food all over them. The floor is covered with trash and rice. The staff has an unmotivated, slacked demeanor. There are other restaurants that have a very similar menu that are far better managed and at least clean. We will not be back.

Decent food, usually go around the lunch rush hour. At least consistent with their food.

After all the issues with food, Chipotle did the right thing and took some time to ensure that they could create safer food. This means they definitely altered their recipes. I was prepared for some changes but, sadly, the chipotle that I used to love is no longer. I got a chicken bowl with veggies and both the chicken and veggies actually tasted burnt. The guac was flavorless and the chips were just nothing special. By the end of my meal, I was already convinced that I wouldn’t eat at Chipotle nearly as often as I used to. Then, not long after my meal, I got very sick. I have a gluten sensitivity so I’m not sure if the recipe changes means they now contain gluten, but something in my lunch made me very ill. So, given that the food was not good, and that I got sick from it, I will sadly no longer be dining at chipotle.

This is probably one of the best chipotle locations I’ve been to in Bakersfield. The dining area was very well maintained, the line was short on a Saturday night, and the service was outstanding from every single employee on staff. They were very busy the whole time I was there, cleaning and getting ready for the close in the last little bit of the day. Someone even checked on me at my table to make sure I was satisfied with my meal, which was pretty cool. It is a little out of my way, but I would make the effort to come to this location more now that I know it is awesome.

Most every time I’ve come here… these people bust a$$. Yes, I have been in the afternoon when it gets busy but they always seem to get you through the line as quickly as possible. For people that complain and say the turn over rate of emplyees is high… um, WHO CARES… as long as they make my food the way I ask for it! I have never had an issue with any of the servers. They are always friendly. Only negative comment would be the place gets a bit trashed because of the high volume of customers they push through.
TIP: Call in your order or go in at 8pm when it’s not busy!

Feels like a homemade meal without the wait. They have a variety of meats and atleast more than 2 options for everything they offer, from options for rice, beans, salsa, meat, extra, etc. The service is not all that great. The cashier Juana forgot not only my salsa on the side, but she didn’t even give me my beverage. I was so hungry I didn’t pay much attention until I took a seat and was going to start eating. When I go back and ask for what had not been given to me I felt like the blame was on me for not making sure my order was correct. The only reason I enjoy eating at this location is because of the outdoor seating.

Chipotle is the best «fast food» in Bakersfield. Always fresh. Whenever I want something close to home cooking (so I can avoid the usual billion calorie fast food meals) but don’t have time, we hit Chipotle. Only downside is I can’t hit a drive thru in my pajamas and bare feet. This Gosford location is less busy than the stockdale location (thank goodness), but they are a tad skimpier than usual with their rice and meat servings. I have to always ask for a «little extra» with an emphasis on the «little» so they don’t charge me for double. Clean restaurant, consistently great food. One of my favorites. I can’t even venture out and try other dishes because the chicken bowl has such a strong hold on me! Corn salsa is soooo good, but I have to ask for a small serving because it gives me such bad heartburn! I love this place. Moving to the Southwest and ending up closer to Chipotle has been a big plus in my book!

Chipotle in general is amazing. Therefore, I won’t even talk about the taste/​quality of the food. However, the Coffee and Gosford locations are horrendous overall. I don’t even know where to begin. Avoid at all costs.
Service is the cornerstone of any restaurant and it is so bad here. Staff turnover is terrible so you always get some newbie making your burrito. And they always mess up your burrito (tortilla splits open is the main issue I have seen). And it holds back the line. And they are young kids, so they start dancing around and the customers are like, «It is nice to have fun every now and then — but definitely not when the line is out the door.» A customer wanted to speak to a manager and there wasn’t one on premises (or at least that was what was said). So basically, a bunch of kids are running this place in to the ground.
This location is every company’s fear: A franchise that is basically marring your brand.

Ironically this is the second time I have been to a chain restaurant with in a week. first time was tilted kilt now Chipotle. This time i took pictures of the build of my bowl.

I also added a bit of Barbacoa to it again it was Marinated overnight in our smoky, spicy chipotle pepper adobo. then braised slowly and shredded by hand, providing a perfect balance of beef flavor and smoky heat
The Cheese, is a blend the mild qualities of Monterey Jack and the sharpness of cheddar.
All laid a top of Cilantro-​Lime Brown Rice Steamed whole grain rice simmered with bay leaves, which impart their herbal fragrance and flavors. then seasoned with lemon and lime juices for enhanced acidity and garnished with cilantro for its slightly bitter, fresh flavor.
I had the Black beans with onions on the side, it had adobo, garlic, and a blend of aromatic spices until pleasantly tender. seasoned with Chipotle chili, garlic, toasted cumin, and oregano
The Guacamole is handmade throughout the day and seasoned with freshly-​cut red onions, jalapeños, and cilantro.
again, good filling meal the staff was great here too, nice and energetic.

They were out of pretty much everything. They also made you wait in line until they did the delivery orders. Also didn’t listen when you order. I order guac and chips and she forgot the guac. Just bad customer service.

Friendly staff and the line moves quickly on most days. As with all Chipotle’s the food is great and price is fair.

I just wasn’t that impressed. We arrived at 9pm to a very long and slow-​moving line. We ordered chips & guacamole, and a kids quesadilla with rice & beans. It was ok, but not worth that line. I am not likely to want to return for that food if it means that line.

America runs on chipotle. This place is always busy no matter how late. It is clean and fast that is big. Parking is enough and people who work here do their best to keep you happy. That is good enough for most of us. I always come back despite limited options.
