This is where you want to stay for your quintessential Maine shore vacation! The owner, Chip, and his staff have created the best experience in the area. Drive the scenic route, park your car and soak in the atmosphere and fresh, salt air. You will sleep comfortably and wake to the harbor view refreshed. Chip also makes THE best blueberry muffins. A highlight was Chip sharing a freshly shucked clam right from the dock! I only wish we could have spent more time here… well, there’s always next year!

Last May my wife and I were in Maine visiting our daughter at college. We knew her graduation was coming up in a year. Thinking about accommodations, we found everything near the school was already booked. Driving around the area we came across this sweet, little motel. The view was breath taking! We parked and walked in. We were greeted with a lovely lady, Connie, who gave us all the information we needed to book rooms for us and other members of our family. The time came this weekend for my daughters graduation and the Bailey Island Mote could not have been a better place to stay. We love it! It was so unique, charming, accommodating, and amazingly affordable. I highly recommend staying here is you are in the area. Ask for one of the rooms upstairs so you don’t miss out on the view.

This is not your ordinary«motel». Some people get creeped out by the thought of a motel(including my girlfriend) but there’s no need for that here. The service is excellent, the rooms are very clean albeit a bit dated and in addition to tasty Green Mountain Coffee the owner Chip makes some mean muffins for breakfast. You’re flanked on both sides by the water, there are tons of chairs to lounge on out on the grass overlooking the bay. You can watch the fishing boats come in and out and even go for a swim off the dock. If you’re expecting the Four Seasons, then don’t bother coming here. But, if you like beautiful views, hospitality and honest charm then book yourself a room for the weekend. There are a handful of decent restaurants around, you can go for a morning run, walk, bike ride, paddle. Or just sleep in and head down to the beach for some lounging in the sun and summer reading. We will be back and are going to tell our friends about Bailey Island.

The Most Perfect Motel! Bailey’s Island Motel is absolutely perfect. The rooms were immaculately clean, nothing out of place or any dirt found anywhere. The cost for a room was well below anywhere else on Bailey’s or Orrs Island. The motel is located right on the water– your room will have two windows on opposite walls, and you can see the water out of both sides. The owner and his staff are incredibly friendly. This motel is a great place to experience the charm of Bailey’s Island. In your room you will find a blue binder stuffed full of pages about the island, places to visit, things to see, all of the island’s restaurants’ menus and prices, hand-drawn maps of the area, and pages and pages of facts about Maine. Every morning in the lobby there’s coffee, tea, orange juice, and fresh homemade blueberry muffins, and they give you trays so you can bring your food back to your room(breakfast in bed!) or sit in one of the many Adirondack chairs spread around the property overlooking the sound. There’s a dock, so you can either launch your kayak or canoe from there, or boat right in to the motel itself.
