Great little bar near our home. I initially wanted the princess peach but you seemed to have a bad batch of it but your brewery wouldn’t serve us a possible«bad» beer. He let us know that it would be fixed next day which is awesome. Instead he took time to explain the different ones on the menu as well as offer samples if needed. My girlfriend and I bought samplers and enjoyed each one. Prices were very reasonable and he even showed us the custom made soaps that they use the beer in. They all smell really good. Had a great conversation with the other customers at the bar and truly enjoyed our time. We will be back and I’ll be sure to bring others.

The seasonal Offensive Tanooki is my favorite by far. My husband really enjoys the black mage — which is funny because he doesn’t like coffee but it has cocoa beans!

Pretty chill place to hangout. I went here during the super smash tournament and I loved their gamer christmas tree, it was the coolest thing ever! Their bathroom is really clean too! I would go here often to chill with my gamer friends more often if I had lived nearby, definately will go here again!

Let me start by stating the obvious. This place is far away. This may be prohibitive as it is a place to drink alcohol. Regardless, the beers were surprisingly tasty! I thoroughly enjoyed their s’more beer(dark, yet somewhat sweet) and their wit(fruity and light). The theme is amazing, they even have old school gaming consoles at their tables for entertainment. Further, the service was friendly and accommodating. If you are anywhere near avondale, Check out 8 bit!

So I finally went and found out… yes all the reviews are true! This place has awesome craft beer and a true IPA which is my fav. Ryan is great and we loved talking with him. He’s like a beer scientist! You can sample the different beers and he will tell you about the future madness he is creating! Love the theme too. Its a great pre or post dinner drinking spot but make sure you have a DD because the police do patrol the area!

Located in a maze of other suites, 8-Bit is a hidden gem for beer lovers everywhere. True to its namesake, the bar is video game themed with pixel inspired local art on the wall, two arcade games and a video games menu with video games on demand in the next room over. All the beers are brewed on-site, and the popular White Mage(golden ale) is light and crisp for starters. On tap right now they have a S’mores Stout which is a must try. The S’mores Stout is one of the best beers I have ever tasted! I could smell the s’mores aroma right before it hit my lips, and unlike other beers that seem to use imitation to capture fresh flavors and ingredients, the S’mores Stout was just the right balance of a cozy campfire s’ in my mouth essence and stout. Besides the awesome beer, the service is very friendly, and there are board games to come play with friends. Don’t come here hungry though, there’s no food offered.

So we went to try the beer. They only have a few to choose from, not a problem. The variety is enough everybody found one to like. The Wit I had was good enough to have a second. You can also get a flight. There are a few early video games and consoles spread out to play on that emphasize the 8-bit theme. They don’t serve food but did not mind our group setting up a table with appetizers for our group. The place was spotless. The service was very friendly. If it wasn’t so far out I wouldn’t mind going another time to see what they have brewed.

This place is out in the middle of no where but it’s very cool. The owners are a couple and they’re really friendly. There’s 8-bit art all over the walls that’s handpainted by a friend/artist they know and it’s cool. The names of the beers are named after video game stuff. I had the full flight of 8 beers and it was $ 18. That’s solid and what I expect as they brew and store all their beer there on location. There was a few beers I had that were really, really amazing. I think the best thing was a sour stout. Yeah, I’ve never even heard of such a thing and yet they totally brewed it. It was awesome. I mean, talk about the best of both worlds! Crazy good and this says a lot about the brewing skills. They totally encourage you to bring your own food in too from other places or your own stuff. I also saw a table playing a board game. If you’re a boardgamer and love craft beer like I do, this is your spot!

Why aren’t you here?! The absolute only reason this isn’t 5 stars is because there isn’t food, and no radio/jukebox. Honestly… I’ve been called a beer snob by many many people, and 8-bit is a dream come true. It is a rare RARE occurrence that I find more than 2 or 3 beers on draft that I world call«fantastic», but 8-Bit is a winner. So good… So dark… So spicey… So chocolatey… So sour… So yummy. If you like good beer… And appreciate REALCRAFTBEER… You should be drinking here. Their new gose — Ryan’s Temporary Insanity — is AMAZE-BALLS… chocolate sour? WHAT? You should be drinking this Figgie Pudding — a spicey winter warmer of sweet strong deliciousness. This is definitely a new favorite, and I’m bringing home a growler! Mayan Chocolossus — an imperial stout that is thick and rich and a chocolate dream. Thank you 8-Bit… Thank you. I’m a happy girl, and those who know me, know that isn’t an easy feat.

Superbly awesome brewery in an industrial park in Avondale. Beer and décor totally video game inspired. Exceptional experimental brews– like the Mayan Chocolossus. We spent about an hour chatting with Brett on a Sunday evening. Hope to return next time we come to the area.

Love this place. Definitely my favorite brewery in the valley, and lucky I’m so close to it. 8-Bit themed, think Nintendo graphics. Great place to come and hang out, play some card/board games. Owners are beyond super friendly, level 20 charisma for sure. This is not a sports bar, there are no TV’s(except during Tecmo Bowl Tournaments). Here you can«interact» with people and be «social» versus staring at a TV and ignoring the person you came with.

Hard to find but worth looking for. I’ve been waiting patiently for a brewery to open close to home. So I was pleased to finally locate a brewery in my neighborhood and for the Westside of the Valley in general. I’m glad to say that 8-Bit Aleworks has been worth the never ending search for a brewery. 8-Bit Aleworks is a small operation and and serves about five beers on tap. I’m preferential to wheat beers and 8-Bit’s ‘White Mage’ Wit is fantastic as was the Stout ‘Black Mage“ 8-Bit is immaculately clean, and the look and feel of the interior give off a relaxing and comfortable vibe. Fans of nostalgic gaming will enjoy the pixel artwork adorning the walls, of old school video game. Ryan is one of the owners and he is accommodating, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. In fact, all the people I met at 8-Bit were extremely friendly. Ryan mentioned that they plan to have arcade games there soon. That would be an absolutely perfect fit. Great beer on tap and old time video games, does it get any better. I really enjoyed my pint and can’t wait to head back to 8-Bit for another.

8 Bit has some great beers & love the atmosphere. Very fun, funky & low key. It is tucked away in an industrial area off the main road. So don’t give up you’ll find it. I promise. We were there for the first time on a Wednesday evening & the bar was full but there were plenty of table space & games if you felt so inclined. I’m not a fan of IPA’s however the Princes is a Peach IPA& it’s yum-my. I even brought home one of their little growlers. They do have a beer dinner coming up next week at $ 50 pp for 5 courses that include the beer pairings. So go enjoy.

I came here a few weeks ago with my boyfriend and his best friend, who are craft brew fans. We drove over from the East Valley to check it out. They seemed to like the beer. I don’t drink beer and so water was the only other option. So I mostly just looked at them, looked at the other patrons, tried to identify all of the 8 bit renderings of video game legends in the paintings on the walls, sipped my water and listened to the 8 bit, midi music playing overhead on a continuous loop as it slowly drilled into my skull. A couple of thoughts… It is a little off the beaten path and in a mostly vacant(at least on the weekend) light industrial/office park so look for the sandwich board signs to guide you if you come. There were a few other patrons so we were able to pinpoint the location by seeing the cluster of cars parked outside. There is no food offered, yet, but apparently you can bring in your own, which is a huge plus. Also, there are no video games, huge bummer, but apparently locals also bring in their own games on Fridays for use??? I am a HUGE fan of video games, both old and new, and I would suggest we trek back out here at some point *if* the owners brought in some retro gaming systems. Wouldn’t be too hard: Pick up some cheap televisions at a secondhand store(Goodwill occasionally sells them for $ 1 on special) and get some retro game systems and games for the patrons to enjoy: Right now a Nintendo 64, with games, can be had on eBay for less than $ 100. eBay also has Sega Genesis, Atari and Nintendo NES platforms with games for sale for dirt cheap too. Imagine happy patrons sitting around sipping their beers and playing the games of their youth: Super Mario World, Pac-Man, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Castlevania, or Mortal Kombat 4. Think about that, get back to me. ;)

The graphics may be 8-bit but the beer flavor is full HD. Hidden deep in an industrial park is 8 bit, it took us a bit of looking to find but with modern smart phones you wont be too lost. Walk in and it is a true taproom and brewery, tables a bar and beer, no more, no less. The fire flower table decorations, NES tap handles and 8bit style art had me nostalgic for the good old days. The beer made me remember how it is nice to be grown up and able to enjoy a quality beer. I tried the dark mage, their stout. It was great, not to sweet or bitter a full body and great flavor, a balance that can be hard to find in the micro brew scene. I decided to use my extra life and switch teams to the white mage, a wit again full of flavor but nothing too offensive or off balance. This place is fun, grab a few drinks with the friends, maybe not a date place but more of a guys hang out. Keep an eye out for their beer as it is quality.

I met the proprietors at Phoenix Comicon 2014, and I have followed along via Facebook as they prepared to open up shop. It was fantastic to attend their«alpha» grand opening to thank early supporters. I met my husband over 15 years ago because of our mutual love of Final Fantasy. We fit in at 8-Bit Brewery. My husband loves his craft beers, and he enjoyed all of 8-Bit’s initial offerings – he even had the distinction of having his orders blow their first two kegs! The wall art depicts classic gaming scenes, and the background music streams familiar soundtracks in 8-bit renditions. Quite appropriate! They don’t serve food, but that night the Frites Street food truck dropped by. They plan to have more food trucks visit. These are genuinely nice folks who have created a phenomenally good product. We’ll continue to follow along and support their business.
