It hit the spot. We were hungry, they served food. A perfect match!

The food here is pretty good. Fish and chips was the best meal ordered at our table — not too heavily fried, yummy tartar sauce. The skinny fries were perfect. I can’t recommend the burgers. We ordered ours medium rare and medium, then when they came out of the kitchen the waitress gave us a blank look about which was which and they were both well done. The buns fell apart and were dry. Also, they were avocado burgers with only one avocado slice apiece. The desserts were delicious, especially the flourless chocolate cake, as was the lemonade. We went with a group of five and even though the two servers covering the whole restaurant were slammed, they did a great job of accommodating us.

We live in Edwards and go out a LOT. Blue Plate’s on our regular rotation and never disappoints. Cindy’s wonderful, too.

The reviews here and Trip Advisor were good so we gave this a try. Disappointed with service and the food. Hanger steak was small portion, pasta had enough garlic for four meals and the server was busy juggling too many tables. I hate to believe it was that we were there off season or that the just don’t need to over deliver us tourists. Go with eyes open.

Delicious! The entrees were wonderful and diverse. The restaurant advertises as an American-style menu but the German schnitzel was fantastic. The snapper was also really nice. We had a party of six and the server didn’t add gratuity — we appreciated the option to tip well on our own. The atmosphere is beautiful and the wine list is vast. Highly recommended!

Blue Plate is my favorite restaurant in the Beaver Creek /Vail Valley area. I realize when you hear the name, you probably question what it might be like, BUT don’t! Adam and Elle continue to insure their establishment is great. The schnitzel is amazing and honestly, every entrée is worth having multiple times. Adam does a great job of providing an menu that is eclectic, each dish is made with a master chef’s dedication to his craft.

Scottish salmon was outstanding according to Robert. Filet was also very good. Service was a little off, but they were busy. Can’t beat the post ski atmosphere! :-)

I make sure to come to the Blue Plate every time we are in town, and have watched the restaurant evolve over the last 4 years since they moved to their current location from the Christy Lodge. I have always enjoyed eating at the Blue Plate and people in my party have had really solid food at least 9 out of 10 times. The Blue Plate does a great job of having solid offerings of red meat(beef, elk, etc.) fish, chicken, vegetarian, with over half of their menu being gluten free. It looks like most of the bad reviews here have to do with bad service, not bad food, but I have been lucky with good service every time. I recommend a visit here if you are in the Avon or Beaver Creek area.

We went there last year and it was great! This year just ok. I ordered the clam chowder and my husband had Cesar salad. Both were forgettable. Nothing special.

Yet to dine here but the plates are not blue if that’s what you’re in the mood for. Should advertise as the whitest somewhat affordable plates in the valley.

My husband and I left this restaurant so full but wanting more. Our tastebuds were definitely satisfied! We had the cheese fondue to start(we indulged in lots of fondue for my birthday), and then had a few smaller played to share. Not sure what was my favorite small plate… But I can say that I’ve never had falafel that was so delicious. They nailed that. The calamari was one of the best servings I’ve had of its kind, too.(That’s usually not the case when you order it in a land locked state!) we also had the duck patte, I can’t remember exactly how it was named of worded on the menu. Always a delicious plate… And was just as impressed as usual. Finished with the chocolate fondue(after convincing my husband it’d be worth it.) and I think he loved it more than I did!(See, I AM always right heheh) it was a great way to finish my birthday meal. Cindy Lewis was our waitress, and she was a ball of joy and energy. Very attentive and very personable. Made our experience extra fun. Kudos!

We ate at The Blue Plate tonight, at the recommendation of friends we were with who have been several times. We were drawn in by the smell of good food and live music. We got drinks and hummus, falafel and grape leaves for apps. Were very happy with the food, although we definitely wished we had a lot more! For entrees, three of us got the roasted chicken, one got salmon, one got one of the steak options, and my mom got the arribiata pappardelle with chicken. Everything came out in a timely fashion, and although the salmon wasn’t warm, everyone else was extremely happy with their food. However the pasta dish did not come out. Our server told us it would be out in 5 minutes, but it definitely took more than 10. Totally fine, though. We get it. It happens. I have worked in restaurants for 7 years. The pasta came out eventually and was very hot and everyone was happy again. However, when we got the bill, we realized the pasta dish was still on the bill. I’ve had enough experience with messed up orders on my end or on my servers end, to know what needs to be done. If it takes 10+ minutes to come out, to the point where everyone else is halfway done with their food, it should 100% be addressed by the server. Comp it, buy one of our drinks, bring out dessert… anything! Miglena was very sweet but when the dish was brought up(cringeworthy and we felt terrible, but felt something had to be said), she claimed that it hadn’t taken more than 5 minutes to come out, therefore shouldn’t be taken off the bill or anything. Pretty big turn off from Blue Plate. We enjoyed our food, but when you are a restaurant in Avon/Vail, if you are trying to compete with the more popular places in the area, you need to have excellent and comparable service to complement the food and live music. I know that it probably wasn’t Miglena’s fault the pasta didn’t come out with the rest of the food, but as the server in that situation, you have to swallow your pride and do what you know is going to please the customer and make them want to come back… Especially if every employee is asking you to write a good Unilocal review so they can win a bottle of champagne.

I have eaten wonderful lunches here for years. It has been my first choice for lunches. Last week, I brought my husband there for dinner and ww were both so pleasantly pleased. The décor changed to white table cloths, the menu competes with any nice restaurant in the mountains, the food was absolutely wonderful, and the prices were quite reasonable. Our server Cindi was both honest and entertaining. She clearly loves the food as well. My husband’s steak was delicious and my vegan zuke pasta was also yummy; the chef needed to change the sauce for my allergies, so know that they are very accommodating. And GLUTENFREE is definitely an option here; I am celiac and I stressed the issue. I asked if they kitchen would please change their gloves and wash my hands for my food preparation, and keep gluten away from my food and plate; the reply was«of course.» Will definitely eat here again.

Made reservations at Maya, but ultimately decided to dine here instead. It was a wise decision, although Maya is excellent by all means. The place has a relaxed ambience with windows that unfortunately didn’t offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, and the outside perimeter of the restaurant is under construction. Aside from that, the décor and ambiance were quite elegant and relaxing. Our waiter tirelessly attended to us and made our dinner pleasant. Water glasses were always full and our dishes were delivered piping hot. Pretty good service all around. After we ordered, from the oven to our table, fresh bread rolls arrived with whipped butter. They were to die for if you love baguette style European rolls. Then came the wonderful Beet Dip with fresh warm flat bread. The dip had a deep beet flavor without the earthiness, and the texture was awesome with shredded beets blended in with the smooth beet cream. My entrée, Veal Schnitzel, also turned out to be a tasty dish. The golden semi-sweet batter was fried to perfection with tender veal within. The potato salad was a nice departure from the mayonnaise versions with vinegar based dressing over sliced and seasoned boiled potatoes. The side of green salad that was fresh completed the meal. I’m 100% sure we will be eating there again when back in Avon in a couple of weeks.

I have bookmarked the Blue Plate prior to our trip. I am efficient if nothing else. Our first meal in Avon was a very memorable one thanks to The Blue Plate! Right now the surrounding area when you get to B. P is getting a facelift. SO ignore that part and please proceed inside to have one of the most creative and excellently prepared food. I’m a carnivore with a lot of love for a side of greens. So expect meat, meat and more meat in my review if you don’t know me. It just makes sense that I order their Hanger Steak $ 29. The price relative to what I had was peanuts. Cheap. Chump change. They use«King Natural» beef. It’s touted as the«Best Steak You ever had» in their menu. It’s premium Natural Grain and corn-fed a minimum of 350 days. No starving cow here. No added hormone EVER. So this cow was even tempered and no hormone induced crazy moo’ing. PMS for us ladies. Humanely raised and handled. 100% vegetarian diet. Sounds like someone was raised healthier than probably you and me and cared for lovingly in a hippie commune. This beauty sat on a bed of 7 oz mashed potatoes, zucchini, brandy, peppercorn sauce. This was the best mashed potato ever for me. The old mashed potato was kicked to the curb by this chef and turned it into a side kick for the above star worthy of its own praise or a place in the menu. This mashed potato had some structure and form to it taste wise. When you place it in your mouth you’re almost forced to chew and enjoy it courtesy of the julienned zucchini. Un-boring. For sure. the taste? Perfect! Now the hanger steak was so tender you wouldn’t need to worry about chewing it for too long. In fact one cut slipped thru and I didn’t even feel it.(stop it! don’t be like me) The peppercorn sauce is my fave sauce for any steak. Here it was! Just enough to help the steak shine thru. You must try this! Very simple décor. Tables, chairs, clean place and excellent staff! It’s all that you would ever care for after you eat there. The food was amazing!

My husband and I walked by Blue Plate on our way to another establishment, checked out their menu, and saw fondue! As we happy hour’ed next door, we found ourselves thinking about Blue Plate, so we settled our check and walked on over. And what a delight! The incredible Holly was our server for the evening. The tapas included the BEST hummus we’ve ever had in our lives(and we eat a lot of hummus)! Homemade gluten free bread was also a standout. Yummy Korean short ribs, tempura artichokes… we were wowed before the fondue! Speaking of which, it was stunning! Holly raved about the special– a shrimp tika masala– so we shared it and were blown away! Enough about the food – the staff are co-stars in this incredible restaurant. Holly is new to the area but gels perfectly with Colorado and the Blue Plate team. «We’re like a family,» she said, and so did the owner, Allie, and we believe it. The incredible chef, Adam, came out and chatted with us, helped me see where I’m going awry in my own attempts at hummus. Allie, originally from Austria, treated us to an impromptu wine lesson(she was only 7 weeks away from being 1 of only 136 Master’s of Wine when she and Adam fell in love and married). It blew our minds and we are anxious to work on food/wine pairings at home! Next trip to this area will most certainly include Blue Plate. Our evening was a magical combination of great food, wonderful service, and charming, delightful new friends. GOTHERE!

Recently My another and I were in Avon as a last stop on our two and a half week road trip. As a last meal together we wanted something nice. We stopped at Northside Kitchen across town 15 minutes earlier and walked out due to it’s drab and unwelcoming staff. So we headed back to the hotel and saw their specials board on the sidewalk, sounded great! We went in at an odd time late in the afternoon, so it was somewhat quiet, while a baby shower was going on outside on their nice patio. Including bar. So we sit inside. There are big windows everywhere so the views are quite nice. Our server Cindi welcomes us. She takes our drink order and tells us «I’ll put the bread rolls in the oven»…uhm yes please! I’m weak for a place with good bread and butter. They do have lots of great Gluten Free options in their menu though! Gluten intolerance is real people! She returns, makes some great suggestions and knows the menu. I love a server who knows their stuff. We order stuffed grape leaves and escargot, wonton style. Had to try them! Mom loved the grape leaves, which were vegetarian, thank goodness! Being a Veg/Pescatarian, it’s hard finding GOOD food that doesn’t have any meat/meat product in it. Nice garnish of tzatziki and tomato. My escargot wontons were decent. I don’t think escargot should ever be «wonton style», butter pastry probably would’ve been a better idea. Chewy snails too. The garnish of onion and tomato helped. Put it in a crispy pastry, serve with more garlic butter sauce and bam, you’ve got a winner. Just sayin… it was«decent». The bread came out hot, with whipped butter. Totally made up for my appetizer. Asked for a second order, she gladly obliged, and I had new hot rolls 15 mins later. Our main courses were fantastic! Mom had Summer vermicelli, with an avocado pesto sauce and tons of fresh seasonal veggies. I had the pork schnitzel. O. M. G. Awesome! They also do a version with veal, 7 dollars more. Served with potato salad, which was cold, vinegar-y, and with lettuce, so good! Like real German potato salad. Garnish of lemon and some berry sauce, the sauce was too sweet and covered the taste of the schnitzel. Ate it with lemon and the potato salad and I loved it. The food was good, the server was great, loved the booth we sat in too. Cindi talked with us a while about our home state of Florida and was a really outgoing, server. The world is small, always strike up conversation when you can. Next time we are in Avon, we will definitely go back.

The restaurant feels like it’s either in transition or the owners /staff have stopped putting the effort into making it exceptional. In the 30 minutes we were dining, I must have heard«I’m sorry» at least 10 times. Apologies are great when they are the exception to the rule, but it seems they are more the rule here than not. I ordered my burger mid-rare and it was well done. The $ 2 upgrade to a gluten free bun turned out to be a slice of crumbly, dry bread. The meat itself was a patty no larger than a small silver dollar pancake and although the menu states«never frozen,» I’d venture that it was certainly frozen. At the table next to us, hair in the soup. At the table across, wrong order. The writing is on the wall here. Overall, there are much better places to spend your cash.
