My family and I came to an early dinner on Thursday. We live in AVentura and have wanted to test this place out. By far the best pizza in the Miami area. Not greasy, made with real fresh ingredients. We enjoyed the Sicilian salad, chicken wings(small) and a large JOEY whole grain pizza. We ended up at around $ 45 including a beer and no dessert. The portions are large we had pizza left over. The salad is yummy though the dressing is a little vinaigrette but you can always put it in the side. I did enjoy it here more than Anthony’s coal fired pizza. I will return again, manager was attentive.

Got a pizza and a couple of rice balls delivered from Sicilian Oven through Delivery Dudes. Delivery was quick and the food was piping hot, which I’m sure it can be attributed to both the restaurant and the delivery service. The pizza, small whole wheat crust with pepperoni and mushrooms was absolutely delicious. Awesome chewy crust, flavorful sauce, not too greasy and the toppings were of high quality. The rice balls I didn’t love at all. Stuffed with meat and peas and fried and served with what was described on the menu as a bolognese. They were dry and the sauce was just not good. I unfortunately ended up throwing them out. Regardless, I’ll definitely order from Sicilian Oven again for the pizza.

I really wanted this place to be my go to spot for pizza but I was disappointed. I think I was blinded by my first taste, today not only was the pizza bad but the manager also was in bad taste. In short, pizza was burnt on the outside and raw inside. Both the Nona special crust and the personal pie was undercooked. Wings sounded amazing, they were not bad. Wings were not good either. They were also burnt. Two stars for the ladies that helped me, felt like they wanted to warn me. I should listen to my intuition more!

Hubby got this as take out for us and I have to say I love this place! I’m normally a NY style pizza girl but this is great to switch it up, its close, and, most importantly, it is so so so so so so so so so yummy. The sauce is the best. I will readily admit that it trumps my recipe(you know – the one that’s been in the family for years blah blah blah). Seriously, thinking back I am wondering if I can go there and ask to buy vats of it to put in my freezer so I can put it on everything. We tried the calamari and that was good too. But the pizza is where its at. I’m happy happy happy we live so close to this place we can get it all the time! Sweet!

The whole party loved the place. The salad, meat balls, pizza, and wings are great choices. My absolute favorite was the eggplant Parmesan, I have no clue how they were able to slice the eggplant so thin but it was brilliant. One of the best places to eat in the food lacking Aventura area. Service was nice and quick but I cannot really gauge that because one of the members in the party has great relationships with the staff so we may have been getting all the attention.

Very good pizza. Excellent sauce… thou make sure to order extra sauce(on the traditional pizza). Also tried the Mona Lisa… also very good. Calamari was excellent… best I’ve had in a long time… next time I will request regular marinara instead of the spicy sauce it come with(a bit too spicy for my taste) but it was still good. Prices weren’t too bad. Expect a long wait as they do get insanely busy. Great food… good prices… good service… what more can you ask for?! I’ve never had a bad meal here :) definitely worth a try!

This place represents very well Sicilian cuisine. The wood fired wings are amazing$ 11 for 10 $ 8 on lunch time. Pasta Norma$ 13 is a special recipe by Peter’s(owner) mother in law, ask for the light on oil version to get the best taste. Service is on point, Angelika was very friendly, professional & attentive. I’ll be back!

Wow. I can’t believe I have lived in this neck of the woods for over 3 years and have somehow missed out on this gem. First off, the sauce here is phenomenal. Probably the best sauce I’ve tried in the state(with perhaps one exception). Second, the crust is fantastic as well. It’s Neapolitan style that reminds me a little of Antico’s crust in Atlanta. That’s high praise because Antico is one of the great pizza places in this country. Their Sicilian style pizza is good as well. We got their firecracker calamari almost as an afterthought, and I’m glad we did because like everything else, it was really surprisingly good. Service was prompt and friendly. Prices are on the high side of average, but definitely worth it. Recommend.

This place is well located at promenade mall… Most of the time in lunch they are pretty busy… Service is very bad… I even stood up once to ask for a refill on my diet coke… Pizza is good… Not the best around this area, but acceptable… Salad is ok… All in all, came to change some from the other places around… Enjoy

Updated review for dine in: tried another pizza while dining in, and it was very good when served right out of the oven. Also the prices were reasonable, and our server was friendly and helpful. We were there at a non-peak time so we had no problem getting the staff’s attention. I’d recommend dining in vs. carry out or delivery, the pizzas are good when fresh but get soggy quickly when they sit for delivery. Review for carry-out: The place is always jammed, so there must be something to it, but the pizza we ordered was for takeout was decent. It was super oily, and the crispy crust went soggy. The spicy peppers were scorchingly hot. I usually enjoy spicy, but the combo of oily and spicy gave me a brutal case of heartburn. Good sauce, cheese and sausage. Next time we’ll try dining in and maybe I’ll try something without hot peppers.

The hostess asked if we wanted to sit outside because there was no wait. Seeing how incredibly busy the inside dining was, we were happy to be seated outside. After reading Unilocal reviews, we were excited to try this place out. We sat for 15 minutes without being acknowledged again; our drink order was not even taken. However, the people who were seated AFTER us had their entire order taken. Finally, we decided to leave. As we stood up to leave, the waiter assisting the people who came AFTER us gave me a thumbs up and walked away. We will not be visiting this establishment again. This business had the potential to gain a wonderful set of customers, who also happen to tip well. We left with hungry stomachs and a feeling of disrespect. There are far too many competing restaurants in this area to put up with terrible service.

While Anthony’s is more popular than this place, it shouldn’t be. Sicilian Oven has pizza similar to Anthony’s but also offers some different types of pizzas that Anthony’s doesn’t. The biggest difference between these restaurants is that Sicilian has a diverse menu of interesting foods and not just a few common items. The rice balls are amazing and I never would have thought to order them had I not seen them being delivered to a nearby table. The eggplant and lasagne(I know these are common Italian foods but they offer a good test of a restaurant’s quality) are also delicious and everyone at my table enjoyed their entrees. While I hope they have more success, i selfishly hope they don’t get too popular because I don’t want to have to wait as long as I have to at Anthony’s.

The Sicilian Oven offers a good pizza and some specialties claiming to be Sicilian. They have good service and a simple but pleasant environment. Italian and Sicilian food is not complicated but rich in flavors and dependent on very high quality fresh ingredients. My meal on Sunday night was unfortunately badly prepared. I was totally surprised by the huge quantity of garlic on the Pasta alla Norma that totally overwhelmed the subtle flavor of the eggplant. I was very disappointed that tiny mozzarella«bits» were used in lieu of ricotta salata which is the traditional cheese to balance the flavor of this famous dish, and the pool of oil that the pasta floated in was greasy and unappealing. I’ll stick to their pizza in the future and make my own authentic Sicilian dishes at home . FYI this dish was named after the opera by Bellini and not someone’s grandmother :)

I prefer this place to Anthonys Coal fired. as you can usually find a spot at the bar if tables are full. I had to tell the new waiter to stop calling me chief. which he did three times. The female mgr Wendy is very flirty and also not so helpful. I think she is here as the owners girlfriend. The food: The rice balls are decent, but dont need the huge bed of lettuce that they sit on. I like they come with a meat sauce side. I prefer the Sicilian pizza here to the regular round, its thick and crusty. This dough is not always available, you have to ask. I do like that they have fountain sodas. whereas Anthonys gets you on the per bottle or can basis. That can quickly add up. The wings are a bit greasy but I will say tasty and a different flavor. I do enjoy the Sicilian salad. as its similar to a small antipasto.(nice touch)

Employees are very nice, they open the doors for you as you enter and leave the restaurant. Big TVs to watch sports. The food came out extremely fast and was perfect! We ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and«The Boss». Definitely going back when I’m in the area :)

Great Italian food, and so fresh. The philosophy is: we made it fresh and good, so please wait till your order comes. And that works. The restaurant is always full. You had better to book your table. Pizzas and pasta are both excellent. You cannot be wrong going there.

In this, my third(unprecedented) review of the same place, I conclude that the initial review of 5* for dine in is warranted, as is the 3* for take out. It must be like eating sushi at the bar/counter — the magic is in eating it immediately. See prior reviews for more details on each of these experiences. This place flies completely under the foodie radar, but it was packed today, so clearly the word has gotten out. As we say each time we dine here: «I gotta come back more often».
