Oh man, their tomato bread. So good. They have a great $ 5 happy hour with a strong chicken liver mousse, awesome parmesan dusted fries with aioli, and a solid house red and white. I believe the rest of their glasses are in the 8 – 12 range with mostly bottles on the menu. Tiny space, but cozy and nice. Their charcuterie plate at happy hour is on the smaller side(and no cheeses) but it’d be a nice place to return to. Would be interested to see if their dinner was as good as the sampling for HH was.

You cannot compete with their sliders. Blue cheese and bacon jam, bib lettuce on a roll. Mussels are excellent and a great wine menu to choose from. Just love the service and ambience of this place.

I rated my experience at Winebelly 4 stars because both of the drinks my boyfriend & I tried were not good. That could be a matter of personal experience, so don’t crucify me. However, the food was really really good and almost made me forget about the drinks. I tried my first fried quail egg here, and it was actually great! We also got the meat board & cheese board, which are our guilty pleasures, and they were as delicious as we had hoped. We would visit again if we’re ever back in the area.

The food was delicious. The ½ price wine on Monday night was a great deal. The back patio was ambient. The hostess was delightful and seemed genuinely pleased to greet us and bid us farewell. Why Three stars? Our server seemed annoyed to serve us. We were not told of any features or what to expect. This is a touristy area, you should probably expect non-locals to dine in your establishment. She seemed annoyed when we asked about any of the dishes. I can’t put my finger on it, but I’m guessing she pre-judged my little group consisting of my boyfriend, my 16 year old son, his friend and myself as below the venue, especially considering the fact that we all looked a little ragged for wear. My BF and I have been in the service industry for decades between us, and we have both learned not to stereotype our tables. We tipped 20%, but her attitude did not deserve it. I doubt she learned any lesson about stereotyping tables, sadly. We will be back, if we visit the area again, but we will be sure to ask for a different server. Maybe then, I can change my star rating.

This is a great little spot. Awesome wine selection with very knowledgeable staff. The patio outside also has a great vibe. Ordered the cheese plate and the sliders. The cheese plate was very good and the sliders with rich and delicious. Will definitely be back.

I really do love this place-fresh, fun, surprising. Every time I come I get a new palate experience. Seasonal and spot on. Add in great wine, stellar service, and stimulating conversation and you have a perfect evening.

Great ambiance, knowledgeable staff and amazing food, true tapas portioned to have room to try more than one. We experienced the lamb ribs(best lamb I have had in the Austin area), sirloin(perfectly cooked and so juicy) & salmon(awesome butter sauce with great spices) and several different wines that our waitress suggested. And no meal complete without desert & a port, perfect ending to the night! My boyfriend still talking about the food the next morning, especially the lamb. We were both impressed and glad we decided to flip around after driving past it! Would have liked more by the glass wine options as I am a new connoisseur which is the only reason not a five star review but definitely return patrons!

Winebelly is awesome. I love wine, but I can’t say I know everything about it. The staff here are great at helping you find what you like, even if you don’t know all the lingo. Their selection is big and varied, but not overwhelming. An added plus is the food. Small plates + wine = perfection! Definitely try the shishito peppers and truffle fries. Great vibe, great service, great products. I love me some Winebelly.

Great happy hour prices for Mondays. The truffle fries are always a wine. With a bottle of red wine and some shirt ribs, you will be okay for the rest of the week.

Wine. Check. In my belly. Check. Appropriately named establishment. Check. We didn’t venture too far into the menu. The featured wine @ $ 11/glass, the Meat Plate @ $ 13/plate, the Ella Fitzgerald cocktail @ $ 8/flute, but the above was pretty scrumptious. The slacker was the Ella Fitzgerald. It missed the mark on Prosecco/juice balance. Although, if you have a sweet tooth, this might be up your alley. We had great service and a fantastic hostess. Really, I don’t expect much from a hostess but she asked us how are day was going and was just generally bubbly. Maybe it just stood out because it was unusual, but it was definitely worth noting. Overall, this is definitely a good place for light bites and a couple of friends after a long day.

Have drove by this place so many times on my way to work and never had the chance to stop by… until last night. Was blown away by the atmosphere, wine selection, and the food. Winebelly truly embodies the«mom/pop» small business model that encompasses a unique take on both tapas and wine, but also prioritizes top-notch service. That’s why if you go do everything in your power to sit in Jordan’s section. She is a tremendous asset to the Winebelly FOH staff and needs to be recognized.

I had a friend that mentioned she wanted to try this place. I had heard of it, but had never been and did not realize how far south it was. It is a cute little spot located on Oltorf just west of Congress. I loved the outside, it was cool and rustic looking. The inside was just as welcoming. They have a ton of wines to choose from as you might expect it being a wine bar and some tasty wine cocktails. I ordered the Ella Fitzgerald from the cocktail menu and it was great! It was actually my favorite thing about Winebelly! My friend and I then started to dive into the menu. We were originally seated at a small 2 person table, but when our waitress realized how much we were ordering she quickly offered up a booth close by so we could have more room for all of our dishes … haha! This is how I roll I guess. We tried the tuna crudo, oxtail, veal sweetbreads, tomato bread, charcuterie and chicken liver patte. My favorite dish was the veal sweebreads. I loved the pickled cauliflower on it! I hated the oxtail — there seemed to be a weird flavor to it and my friend and I did not finish it. I also enjoyed the tuna crudo. Everything else was just ok really. I would skip the tomato bread in the future. The service we had here was great. Overall I would come back here. I think it’s a great place to grab a delicious wine cocktail. I look forward to trying the other wine cocktails on the menu.

Came here on Saturday night to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We had: 1) a few glasses of wine: chenin blanc, and a few reds 2) shishito peppers 3) cheese plate — phenomenal 4) Wagyu beef sliders — to. die. for. We were stuffed by this point and many cocktails to be had downtown and birthday cake at home so we had to cut the night short — here but I cannot wait to return.

Incredible tapas with a very affordable and well curated wine list. Went there for my Birthday with 6 other people. They have a lot of wines made in new world(America, Chile etc) in the old world style, which is why they are affordable and taste close to their Spanish or French counterparts. If you are looking for Bordeaux or Burgundy, this wouldn’t be the place. We got 3 bottles — 2 white and 1 red and they were all really good, at about $ 40 — 50 a piece. We pretty much ordered every app and most main dishes from the menu. It didn’t break the bank. No point is describing the menu as I’m sure it will change. Special mention about the curried mussels, nothing like I’ve ever had before. Jason was our server and he provided incredible service. One my friends was lactose intolerant and he made sure to point out on every dish whether it had milk substances or not. Such small things go a long way. Place to return to.

Positive: Cute spot! Great for a girls night out/date or your like me and simply loves wine! I went pretty late but the server was nice. I got a bottle the was recommended from the special. I will come during happy hour and try different wines. The price is reasonable and it is a relaxing spot. Minus: Unlike some wine bars where the server will pour a little in your glass and allow you to you to taste the wine prior to purchasing it.(This is just my personal preference since I buy a lot of wine). The server poured me a full glass. Sadly, the pino noir was to acidity so I could not enjoy the wine.

Went here for a girls night and shared a bottle of local wine and ordered the chautierre plate, bruschetta and French fries– all amazing! Loved the ambiance on the patio. We’ll definitely be back.

Went to Winebelly for the first time last night and had such a great experience. Our server was super nice and on top of everything — refilling our water glasses without being asked and offering us more bread when she saw we were low included.(Thanks, Jordan.) We ordered their cheese plate, the truffle parmesan fries, and the duck bruschetta, as well as two fantastic glasses of red wine that paired almost perfectly with everything. We LOVED the fries. The flavor was balanced and the fries were cooked beautifully. I also tried duck for the very first time on the bruschetta and thought it was very tasty. I’d order that again. Overall, I really have no complaints about the food nor the service. I recommend checking out this place soon, and if you can make it to their happy hour or a day with a good special, take advantage of it. I’ll be back.

We came here for wine. Solely for wine, so this isnt a food review. The wine was tasty, and the service was great. The bartender/waiter was very knowlegable and gave us some nice tastings of a few wines to help us make decisions. Good prices for glasses of wine. Will be back and hopefully for food too. It smelled delicious.

Since they survived, I decided to try again. And, I’m glad I did. We had exemplary service and there was none of the«angst» around not having a reservation, experienced on my first go around. I’ll still complain that the menu is too limited, but I loved the cured white anchovies(omg) Since I was determined to have the chicken liver mousse, I didn’t get to try to duck bruschetta, but it’s on my radar for next trip Like all tapas bars, my ask would be for something healthier on the menu. I had the tomato bread to satisfy my taste for something«green» and found it heavy on bread, light on tomatoes. All in all, good experience and I’ll be back.
