This place is usually 5 stars regardless of the wait time. The quality of their breakfast tacos and veggie tacos are super but… not today. I ordered two migas tacos at 8am. The cashier said it would be about 15minutes, awesome. I end up watching several people order and get their food before me. When I asked about it the cashier said he misplaced the receipt and he was sorry. Alright, no big deal. My migas tacos were finally ready at 8:40am. I drove home and opened up the tacos only to find they’re covered in grease, waaaaaay too salty, and they taste like they have meat in them. I guess this place is turning into a hit or miss.

This place is the crazy good! Tacos are off the chain, hand made tortillas, ingredients taste phenomenal, this food truck makes me want to marry one of their ladies in there cooking. This food truck makes similar restaurants taste bland. You get the point?! I’m seriously excited about the Barbacoa torta. There salsa has avocado chunks. That all I’m saying. I’ll take a date here any day, heck I’ll bring my grandmother too. Super cozy because of radios awesome vibe, get your food and eat on picnic tables on a nice day. Makes you seriously personally reflect on life. Yes, we are still talking about Vera Cruz food truck. I get the steak tacos with everything. Barbacoa torta. Try it!

With all of the delicious tacos Austin has to offer, Vera Cruz definitely comes in at #1! You have to try the migas! The tortillas are freshly made and they marinate their meat for hours to give all the flavor you can ask for in one bite. You won’t find a more authentic and flavorful taco in Austin!

. Tacos are getting better than before. The chips were not good at all because it didn’t have any taste. Good service and nice people. Thank you.

Well I’ve tried to eat here twice now. I came 2 weeks ago and they were out of corn tortillas. I wanted the fish taco on corn. Ok. I left. I just now tried again and was told by the man at the register that they close at 3:00 and the cook was cleaning the grill. It’s 2:10!!! Are you freaking kidding me??? Everyone around me getting food. I won’t be back!!! Caesar Chavez location here I come!

I’ve had my fair share of tacos in Austin, and growing up in the Rio Grande Valley, I consider myself a bit of a taco snob. With that said, the migas taco from Veracruz might be my favorite. It seems so simple and plain(it doesn’t even have meat!), and I had my doubts after hearing all the buzz around it. Suffice it to say that I was not disappointed when I finally ordered one, and I’ve been back more times than I care to admit…

This is my favorite neighborhood spot. I come here probably twice a week and ALWAYS when I have friends visiting from out of town. These tacos are arguably my favorite in Austin, and the ambiance at Radio makes this taco truck worth the wait. String lights and live music often light up the evenings when Radio isn’t showing an outdoor movie or hosting some other adorable event. On the weekends expect a wait time of 30 to 45 minutes and potentially trouble parking. But I promise it’s all worth it. These small, hot tacos just reinforce Austins claim to fame as a taco Mecca.

I found out about the Migas Taco from the Texas Monthly with«120 Tacos you must eat before you die». I’ve tried several of the tacos in the Austin area and these are my favorite. In fact, it is the only one of the«120 tacos» that I have returned to for a second try. First of all… Flour tortillas are fairly easy to master if you make them homemade. But a corn tortilla is a different story. Theirs are fantastic! The migas taco is the right combination of eggs and peppers and still somehow crispy tortilla strips. Darnit… now I’m getting hungry… If you plan to «grab and go», then the Cesar Chavez location is good. If you want to stay for a bit, then go to Manchaca. They are right next to Radio Coffee and Beer, and have a larger outdoor seating area. Oh, and another thing… One of the workers is kind of a «Taco Nazi». He asked me a question, and when I took too long to answer he kind of cut me off. But I don’t care. I’m not paying for his conversational skills. That guy can make a taco!

The migas here were AMAZING – the crunch, the cheese, the egg, everything was made fresh to order and you could tell(the wait was MORE than worth it). We had the migas at Radio and I’m in love. We also got the guac, which was just super chunky, fresh, and wonderful. I’d get both again in a heartbeat. Also, I loved that green sauce, whatever it was. It was spicy and creamy. Yum. I’m glad we were at Radio b/c we got some great coffee to go with it and we sat outside at the picnic tables enjoying the weather. Highly recommended.

BESTTACOSINAUSTIN. That ^^^ is my passion speaking, but seriously, I love Veracruz. It’s my go-to-spot to bring friends when they are in town, if I had too much wine the night before or basically any excuse I can think of to get tacos. The tacos are authentic, fresh and delicious. I love the corn tortillas, they are actually as good or better than the flour tortillas. The Migas is the best Migas in town, in my opinion. There’s usually a wait but that’s because the ingredients are fresh! Last but certainly not least, their green salsa is magical(and spicy) and their regular salsa is delcious. Enjoy Veracruz!

I enjoy a good breakfast taco, although admittedly I’m no expert. I had heard high praise for Veracruz tacos, so I went out of my way to try one. I’m glad I did, but the experience didn’t do much for me. I ordered a migas taco and a breakfast taco with sausage, egg, and cheese. It was fine, though if I’m honest, I was a bit underwhelmed. Sad to say, I think Torchy’s tacos are more flavorful. The good thing about eating at this particular Veracruz however, is the ambiance. The food truck is parked in front of some benches and tables in front of a coffee house alongside some folks selling some crafts. It’s a cute setting much more preferable than a chain taco shop. A great place to sit and have a conversation. If you have the time to sit and catch up with someone, I’d recommend going here. If you’re looking for a taco on the go, you’re probably better off at a Torchy’s.

Phenomenal tacos that are worth the wait, and with Radio’s beer and coffee to keep you company, being patient is easy. I’m a big fan of good bars subcontracting out their food to good food trucks, for the standard division of labor reasons. Pulling in the estimable Veracruz from the east side is a fantastic move, because even in taco-rich south Austin there’s still room for tacos these good. You’ll have to wait about 20 minutes, and you’ll pay a bit more than at the taqueria down the street, but the extra time and money is worth it. Consider the following: — Migas, $ 3. Everyone raves about their migas and they’re right to because these are incredible, especially with the avocado. The fried tortilla chips are somehow always the perfect consistency. — Fish, $ 3.50. This comes with mango pico de gallo, slaw, and avocado, and is awesome. Lots of places struggle with fish tacos, but this is done absolutely right. — Barbacoa, $ 3. Only available on weekends, but this is rich, juicy cheek meat. With«the works»(cheese, tomato, avocado) one is almost enough on its own to soak up your beer. — Tortas, $ 7. After several rounds of only getting tacos I swore to myself that I’d get a torta and I didn’t regret it. These come with ham, cheese, avocado, and the rest of the usual torta fixings. At $ 7 per though, I’m probably going to stick to tacos. I know only the corn tortillas are made there, but their flour are still great. Be sure to sample the salsas as well: I like the pico-ish one, but the orange and especially the green jalapeño are excellent and must-haves. Order your food, order your beer, and about when you’re ready for your second round you’ll get to chow down. Is it beer with a side of tacos, or the other way around?

My absolute favorite taco of all times can be purchased at Veracruz. The«La Reyna» taco is a vegetarian taco, but don’t let that throw you for a loop. It is insanely delicious. Check it out. Word on the street is Rachel Ray loves Veracruz. The salsa is also very good. They need to package and sell it because I would buy many bottles of their spicy green salsa. Their fresh tomato salsa is also excellent and they use chunks of avocado in it. My one gripe is very often they are out of one or two of the salsas. This is not fast food. Don’t come to Veracruz and expect to get your taco in 5 minutes. You will wait 20 – 30 minutes on average. If you can hack the wait, then you will enjoy their glorious tacos.

The healthiest taco I’ve ever had! Perched outside of Radio Coffee and Beer, it was the perfect place to grab a taco! I ordered the vegetarian on a corn tortilla. It was loaded with veggies and lots of mushrooms which I like. It also had cheese on it. All I can say is, very good! :)

Finally made it to check out this place today, and I have to say, the tacos are good, but not mind-blowing. I don’t really get what the long lines and long wait times are all about. I had one breakfast taco(potato, egg, and cheese) and one al pastor taco, and both were good, but neither was the best I’ve ever had. The service was friendly and the wait time quoted, 20 minutes from ordering, was accurate. The best things were probably their homemade corn tortillas and their two spicy salsas, red and dona green. I preferred the red of these two. The set up is nice, lots of shady seating at picnic tables outside and the ability to order your drinks at Radio Coffee & Beer. This was a good experience, and I’d come back if I was nearby again and not in any hurry to eat, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for these tacos again. The hype was bigger than the reality, in this case.

I generally love everything about food trucks… and tacos, but this experience was rather disappointing. Maybe it’s just an off night? The person who took my order was really distracted. Ordered steak tacos. The meat was a little off(rotten maybe?) — lost my appetite. Salsas lacked flavor — mostly just hot(pepper hot), and they’d been left out for a long time on a table.

Veracruz probably has the best tacos I’ve eaten in Austin. I went to the food truck on Manchaca on a Saturday evening and there weren’t too many people, so the wait was very short and we got our food very fast. I see some negative reviews on their service, and was told by a friend who frequented the place that the wait for food when busy could take up to an hour. Thankfully, the place wasn’t that busy when we got there. I also saw some negative reviews on the prices– and I do admit I wasn’t sure how they calculated my bill. I got one barbacoa taco(they only offer this on weekends) which was priced at 2.25, and a fish taco, which I believe was priced at 3.50(higher estimate), yet my bill came out to be 7.30 +. I didn’t want to argue with the cashier over a dollar or so but I don’t believe subtlety hiking the prices and hoping the customers won’t question it is right(if they are doing so). That being said, the tacos themselves were so delicious. Each taco is packed with filling, and I especially liked the mango pico and blend of flavors in the fish taco. I also enjoyed the tenderness of the barbacoa and the generous amount of meat they put in each taco. The outside area also has ample seating with shade, though beware of the number of bugs in the summer.

My all time favorite taco place! This location and the Caesar Chavez location are by far the best taco joints in Austin! Your mileage may vary. Every time I go here on the weekends, I shave my head, tie my sandals, and order 3 Barbacoa tacos with the works on flour. After this insane experience, I travel back in time to eat it again. All jokes aside, here are some things to look out for on the weekends: — it’s very busy. IF you can, I dare you to phone in an order. you might wait up to 40 minutes… for a taco — it’s very busy. IF you can, go early in the day. I love this place so much. Another plus: they’re very reasonably priced. $ 3 for a taco with everything you love. Can’t find many places like this anywhere else.

Read as 4.75 stars. This was my first visit to this Veracruz location but I did try Veracruz on the Eastside for Alison L’s stellar ROTDC. This location is located next to the Radio Coffee and Beer. I was quoted an approximate 25 minute wait(they make the tacos to order). I was skeptical if it was worth the wait but it soo was! 35 minutes later I was delivered a warm taco piping full of fish, mango pico, fresh slaw and a slice of lime. I love their corn tortillas and all the ingredients were super fresh! There was a very small portion of the fish(like maybe a bite worth) that was overcooked and to tough to eat. Otherwise a nearly perfect taco. I also recommend the veggie taco based on my experience at one of their other locations. There is plenty of seating and the Veracruz employees run the tacos to your table.
