Uber Manor Hostel Bed & Breakfast

Note that the location you’ll be staying at is in SOUTH Austin. The East location has another use (ask about it because it’s a nice story).
This is definitely not a «normal» hostel. Maybe a mix between that and airbnb style?- I don’t know, I haven’t stayed in either before. But the experience was great. Conor is definitely a character and one of the nicest people I’ve met. I’m glad I surpassed the few reviews that are out there & did it anyway– my friend, hostel mates, & I had a good time.
If you’re open minded, want to make new friends, and laugh/​learn a lot– stay here. A
It IS a converted building and by «approving» your booking request, he is letting you into his home. He was very hospitable to my friend & I, along with the others I saw him interact with that were staying there. Be respectful & there won’t be problems. But hey, everyone takes experiences differently.
He gave us a huge map and showed us local gems, plus the public transit (that worked well to get downtown everyday).
Do as you will, but I’ve got stories & memories for days after staying there.

If you want the assholes at Austin Express Towing to tow your car and charge you $ 193 to get your car out you should stay here. Obviously there is an issue with running a «youth hostel» out of a duplex which is only assigned 2 parking spots with a vulture towing company preying on clueless guests! What a disaster, honestly. A $ 50/​night stay ended up being a $ 250/​night stay! And meeting someone at a coffee shop without first disclosing the location of the «hostel» has red flags written all over it. The address is actually 4800 Southway Drive, NOT 1008 Waller St, Austin, TX 78 702. Connor greets you at a coffee shop on South 1^st and escorts you over to the shady apartment complex! He essentially runs a business out of a rented apartment.
A week after he realized I wrote this review he kept harassing my boy friend to tell me to take it down. When my boy friend asked him to send us a check for $ 200 for the towing fee and I would take it down Connor stopped harassing him.
