Tuesday morning was pretty cool went shopping with a friend there’s not very many items of the same choice that you want so if you see something you want you better grab it you better buy it. especially if there’s a markdown price or it’s on sale. last week I got a killer deal on some glitter glue for our project I’ve been working on. Only paid 74 cents each and they were larger than normal size bottles

Drop by on occasion when going to Half Price next door. Have peeked in pretty often and only bought a few little seasonal items. For being a «close-out» or bargain store, I don’t see many real bargains. A rug marked down to $ 300 is still not in my budget. The linens are especially high priced. Stock some REALLY fugly clothing items. Minimal staff, but not very many customers to wait on. The whole fun in bargain shopping is gettin’ a good deal. No fun!

I was thrilled at the opening of this location, then I moved. But when I am in the area I like to stop in and shop. It’s in this shopping center kind of hidden around the bookstore and next to a Fire Station. So it was my secret little hideaway. You see I am a professional shopper… no I don’t have an addiction, I seriously am a professional shopper! I get paid and everything! I am an Interior Decorator so I love finding neat, clean shoppable stores with lots of bargains. So, so far I have painted a decent picture of the place. I even spent about $ 5k in this location alone last year before Christmas. This is where the good part of the review ends. They have had a staff turnover, wahhh, I am no longer special. Boohoo… not. Not like it benefited me. But nice to have a friendly Hello! Ok, my latest issue with this location. I went in to locate some final accessories for a project, few plates and knicknacks etc. well I came across this super cute pillow with a painted cross and ribbon fringe. Gotta have for myself! Well no price on it, me being the pro I am I look for the mate. I know not to get up to the cash register without a price tag. I don’t have the time and nor do I want to waste anyone elses. No luck… I am mean no luck from this point on. I stroll up to the front and show the gentleman my pillow. He says«no problem, if we can’t find it we will find something similar and price it for you». Great I say! This is where it turns really bad. He call over this lady, forget her name but she seemed to be the«power that was».or wishes I sarcastically think to myself. She spends 8 – 10 min looking for the mate. I am by now being given the evil eye for holding up the line. I didn’t ask to be rung up, the cashier said it wasn’t an issue. So I ask to be totaled out so I can pay. The lady behind me had two small kids. I was there once, would have been kind of her to say thanks… by now I am regretting even stopping in this store. I knew it was bad joojoo when I walked in the door after no greeting from people I knew! oh look, the manager of the day is back up to the registers with no pillow mate. Ok, instead of dragging this out I will give you highlights of the next 15 minutes leading up to me storming out of the store vowing to not let any future Client’s $$ be spent there. It went like this… Managerzilla looks up in the system, 1200 matches… nice. Then answers the phone, «nah, nothing, you… it hit 106 here… no kidding… are you serious… yeah…yeah…yeah…hey, I have this pillow, you got one like it? It has a cross on it… oh, you don’t…» New customer is at the register looking for a product and asks for them to call another store… Managerzilla says«whatcha need Hon? Hey, I have a Client here needing so and so, do you have any?» Uhm… HELLO, you have another customer waiting over here as I give the wth look. I am acknowledged again finally, «oh they don’t have them at the Burnet store either, .she hollers over to Employee #1, how would you describe this pillow? sequins… beads…» Oh for heavens sake I can’t take much more… it’s paint! Just a painted cross! Try embellished, painted cross… ugh. I am done, patience gone, I say«I saw a similar pillow at another store for $ 15, hint hint… not taken… she replies«sorry Hon we just can’t find it in the system». I turn and walk out… with no pillow. I walked slowly hoping for the«hey lady, you can have it for ??»…nope. I can take rudeness but not ego issues and no common sense. I also noticed the same artwork fro the opening of the store almost a year ago. Hope they last in that location! Said with a sly grin :)
