With flood season here again I feel compelled to voice my concerns about this company and to the victims who find themselves needing«true’emergency service. You have enough problems to deal with right now and this company will not be sympathetic or honest in addressing your concerns. They will however take your insurance checks immediately and avoid you for months without doing any work whatsoever, tying up your funds so you can’t hire anyone else. My home was heavily damaged during the October 2013 Floods, a very upsetting and emotional time for those of us trying to deal with the horrific damages we sustained. Trilogy reps showed up that same day and made all the right promises to assure my home would be completed by January. It would actually be July before I could move back in while work continued for another month — only after I had to resort to legal threats to get them to do the right thing and do the work. All this stress and frustration with the added expense of having to rent an apartment and incurring additional living expenses, while my home sat vacant and in ruins. During this time I heard from some of their suppliers & subs who were not getting paid for many months even though Trilogy had long received insurance money. Sadly during the course of our neighborhood flood meetings I met many people who were having the same problems with them. The flood wasn’t the only disaster that hit our neighborhood that day and shame on all the unscrupulous contractors like Trilogy that took advantage of that horrible situation. Also, good luck in getting any warranty work done or punch list completed.

I was taken in by the Trilogy folks. The do no real work as a general contractor other than book the subs. None of the subs work is inspected. You have to tell the subs what to do because they are never around. The floor they laid in my 2 bathrooms are cracking because the hardibacker was not laid properly. They include a «warranty» which they do not honor. Now it seems like their numbers are disconnected – probably out of business due to all of the poor work they’ve done. Avoid at all costs. I’ve reported them to BBB and Licensing.

Dear Community, We are so sorry to have to warn you to «Stay Away!» Trilogy will court you for your business with great finesse, make grand promises that feel reasonable, and conveniently forget you. As the previous reviewer stated, Triology takes the money and doesn’t show up! The job was to be completed in 3 weeks– 3 months later, only after calling(Aaron, Ben, Pablo) continuously, pointing out the shoddy workmanship, begging to have our home back, not one promise fulfilled, and here we are just wanting them out of our house!!! Our hearts hurt over all of this. The subcontractors Triology hires are not craftsman rather day laborers, it seems. We feel ripped off and cheated by Triolgy. Look elsewhere, dear Austin community. Look elsewhere!

From what I read in other reviews, this business does great work. Just know that you may have to work pretty hard yourself to get them to do it. I contacted Trilogy after we had to have mold treated in our bedroom closet. Aaron came out and looked over the damage, then, nothing. It took a reminder call from me to even get an estimate. However, being without a part of the wall between the closet and the garage, plus a chunk of carpet, we were pretty desperate. We let that go by and set up a 9AM meeting with a job manager. Aaron called to tell us it would have to be rescheduled after business hours on the day before it was to take place. When I asked why there had to be a change, he said the reason was«beyond his control,» with no further explanation. I have no idea what it would have taken to get an actual crew out to the house and working. I wish I’d seen the dependability that other reviews have mentioned, but I sure didn’t.

If you have lots of time and don’t care about communicating with the contractors, this is the place for you. They work well with the insurance companies and do a decent job at finding some good prices, but the lack of communication between the workers, foreman and the homeowner was unacceptable in my book. They rarely did what they said and it took them 4 months to complete what they originally said would take 2 – 3 months. Handmade cabinets were well above standard. Most of the final work was an acceptable standard, however the clean up, after a few attempts was well below standard.
