Nail salons are tricky: when you find one you like, you may tend to go there and only there. Trying a new place is tricky: unless you know someone that has gone there before and loved it, you may be hesitant to go in blind. And when you do go for your 1st time, you may run out of there with your cuticles bleeding, or you may be underwhelmed. THATWASNOTTHECASEHERE! Sorry for the caps but I wanted to get your attention. I moved neighborhoods in South Austin last summer, and have been trying to find a new«go-to» nail salon. My mother-in-law kept telling me about Town Nails and I had never heard about it before. So I thought I’d give it a try. I was not dissapointed. It’s in a very non-descript strip mall on Manchaca. Not a place you may walk in as an un-known. But once you walk in, it’s very clean, with a very pleasent atmoshere and good ventilation. The pedi chairs are new and in very good shape. I only got a pedi and manicure, but my mother-in-law gets acrylics there, which she loves. We even talked to another woman who regularly got solar nails there and had nothing but great things to say. I think Town Nails is one of these diamonds in the ruff in South Austin. If you’re looking for a new nail place in this neighborhood, go for it! You won’t be dissapointed.
