Salon Dez

I came to Dez today after a terrible mullet-​esque cut from another stylist a few weeks ago. Her professionalism and cheerfulness put me to ease right away!
Great shampoo and conditioning –very relaxing, though I secretly wished she would massage my scalp for 2 more minutes, haha! Throughout the cut, she explained why she was using the technique. She showed me a few easy styling tricks as well. Ended up with an awesome haircut (and many restaurant recommendations) thanks to Dez!
Look no further for a stylist! You will be so happy with her.

I was looking for a decently priced stylist that could work work with my very curly hair, and I found a Groupon for Dez so I gave it a shot. My curls are not all of the same tightness so I was a bit nervous, but she is a total pro. She’s very knowledgeable and she listened. The result was the best haircut I have ever had! She did exactly what I had in mind without my having to be painstakingly detailed.
Also, the salon was very clean and inviting. I will highly recommend her to my friends. DEZ ROCKS!

Ugh, Dez did so great with my hair. She understands a «trim» for us long haired ladies means half an inch MAX haha!

I found Dez through groupon. I had been searching for about a month for a stylist that was in one of those group salon style places because I was tired of going to corporate salons where I felt like I was a burden and just another number to them. I would much rather give my money to an independent stylist. Dez REALLY does listen to the client. I immediately felt comfortable talking to her about what I was thinking and she gave me lots of feedback and options. Sometimes at a corporate salon, I don’t fully understand what the stylist is going to do because I guess they’re rushing but with Dez I knew I was in really good hands. She is very easy to talk to and I loved that it’s just you and her, it makes it easy to relax and enjoy the experience. I am so insanely happy that I’ve FINALLY found a stylist in Austin. I will absolutely be returning to her for as long as I can.

In my 18 years of coloring, cutting, and sitting in a salon chair, I’ve finally found my perfect hairdresser, Dez! She’s an expert in color, cut, style and nails! She even knows how to put me to sleep while washing my hair! She’s always flexible, sweet as pie, and honestly the best hairdresser I’ve ever had! I highly recommend her! Besides her superb talent, she’s amazingly sweet, reliable, friendly, and genuine!

I LOVE DESERAE! She is amazing at what she does, and I would venture to guess she’s one of the best stylists working in Austin right now. She is kind, compassionate, funny but above all that she knows her stuff. When I first starting seeing her, we stuck to the basics: cut and blow out. The next time I let her put in some emerald green strands in my dark brunette hair. I’d never bleached my hair ever, and she put me completely at ease. The color turned out really well, and my hair even though it had been chemically bleached had never been healthier. The most recent hair adventure was to go completely royal purple. This was very involved and required several chemical processes and multiple washes. She explained everything in advance and we jumped in. She only uses the best products and is up to date on all the latest styling technologies, and I would say even after all the processing my hair has been though in the past 4 months, it has never looked or felt better.
The picture of the purple updo… that’s me. The color is bright and vibrant, and the style is exactly what we came up with. She listens and works with what you have in mind. And if it’s not right, she will make it right.
Finally, after searching all over town for a stylist that doesn’t feel elitist but provides elite service, I will be a client for as long as we live in Austin. Dez is the only stylist I will trust my hair to. You won’t be disappointed.

Deserae or «Dez» as we call her is GREAT at what she does. You can tell she cares about her clients and really does listen and wants them to have the hair they want. She is a very sweet and caring person and is a perfectionist when it comes to hair. Dez isn’t happy UNLESS YOU’RE HAPPY! She loves making her clients look and feel beautiful.
Dez understands that when you have long hair it’s really hard to trust just anyone to it! She is not one of those stylists you have to be worried about not listening and paying attention to what YOU want done to your hair. Dez understands how important it is to listen to her clients and also to offer suggestions to help them realize the vision of what they want their hair to look like.
I have her cut and color my hair you don’t realize this is a huge thing for me… I don’t trust just anyone with my hair! LOL Because, ladies you all know how it goes… One bad haircut and that’s when it seems it takes your hair FOREVER to grow out! Well, with her you don’t ever have to worry about a bad haircut.
She has helped me to get my hair looking the way I have wanted for a long time now. I am always receiving compliments on how healthy and beautiful my hair looks and it’s all thanks to Dez.
My daughter also has her hair done with Dez. My daughter had a really bad ombré that was growing out and Dez was able to give her a wonderful red color that looked fantastic.
But, just this past week my daughter decided to change it up again and is now back to a beautiful natural looking ombré full of lovely browns, and blondes my daughter is in love with her hair. She thinks Dez is the BEST!
Oh and our family loves Dez so much even my Mother has started to have her hair cut and colored with Dez. Now, Mom is very particular about her hair and Dez was able to listen to Mom and achieve the look she was going for.
So, it’s a family affair for us all… THREE GENERATIONS! We are so thankful we found Dez and have her in our lives to keep our hair looking fabulous! We love Dez! SHE IS AWESOME AND OH SO TALENTED!
