Torge’s Live Sports Pub & Grill

Had, a burger, was what you would expect from a pub and grill. I don’t think the paddies are hand made and therefore lack the flavor to kick the experience up a star or two. The fries are crispy, but also weren’t «high quality «. Service was friendly and speedy. The atmosphere was fun and friendly.

Good food. Cold drinks. Staff was nice to me but bar tenders treat wait staff like shit. No «I» in team kids.

Stopped for lunch on a Sunday. The burgers were good, service was ok, may need to have another waitress on. Special on burgers was a great deal and tasty. We ordered a chicken quesadilla. Was good but think the chicken may be not so fresh, but ok. We will come back. Wish we could have stayed for pounders of your dad’s beer special. 2 bucks for old Milwaukee, Pabst etc.

Tasty burgers, cooked exactly as we asked for, with a nice char-​grill flavor. Fries look and taste like Ore-​Ida crinkle cut fries but I was okay with that. Draft beers were cold and reasonably priced. Waitress was nice and attentive. Had fun listening to locals do karaōke.

The food at Torge’s is below average especially considering the high prices… People say their burgers are great but mine are always overdone. I do like their pizzas, which is a bit strange since they don’t really market themselves as a pizza joint. They also have a great plate of pork nachos that is listed as an appetizer but is more than enough for a meal. Speaking of appetizers, there are some deals on apps and drinks during happy hour, especially on Fridays, so be sure to inquire about deals.
In terms of atmosphere, I find the place to be a weird mix of club and sports bar. On Friday and Saturday nights, live bands, rednecks, and drunk college-​age students turn this joint into an experience that you’ll regret the next day, but it does seem to remain awfully busy. It’s the only place like it in Austin, I guess, so for those types that enjoy beer from plastic cups being spilled on you by the drunk 23-​girl on the dance floor, you’ll feel like you’re at home at Torge’s.
Earlier in the day, of course, the place is much calmer, and it is conveniently located for travelers (just off the freeway and connected to a Holiday Inn) but there are definitely far better restaurants and bars in Austin if you’re willing to venture a bit further.

My wife and I are from Scottsdale AZ… been in AZ for 20 years. Moved to Austin MN early 2011 and we have to say Torge’s is the place to go to hear some cool bands that come in from Minneapolis. Great staff and the food is above average for a Bar. The Burgers are outstanding and the drink specials are crazy cheap. Fun place for a group or a date.

$ 7.25 for a 8oz sirloin, baked potato, and salad on Tuesday nights. Now that’s a deal. The steak was good. The place seems to be crowded most of the times I am in there and most of the people seem to be local so thats always a good sign. They have a decent beer selection and they have plenty of TV’s to watch and I am sure i will be back the next time I am visiting Austin.

What to say about Torge’s? Well, I think the previous reviewer states it best: «A good place to see Bands play with a couple Hotels in the same place So Drink up and Sleep it Off!»
But, I would like to add: Mullets are everywhere and the People-​watching is the Best. On the Smoking patio, I engaged into a Conversation with the Biggest Sexist on the Planet, and for that, I will always Love Torge’s Grille. Random capitalization of Words is really Neat.
But, seriously, this place may win the contest for hokiest bar ever. (Said contest only exists in my head, but if it every becomes real, I will let you all know). The cover-​band had the sexist guitarist I’ve ever seen so how can you not love Torge’s? Someday, if Unilocal ever allows video uploading, you will all be in for a real treat, because I have a clip of this band and you will rock your socks off so hard you’ll slap your grandmother in her face.
