We had a very nice lunch on the patio outside. The sandwich, kabobs and fruit were good. The salad with corn and lettuce and buttermilk dressing was excellent. The waitress was friendly. Service was good. Plenty of parking. The only downside was the traffic noise. It is near a very busy road.

After a day being totally confused by the Austin roads I just wanted a beer and some food and this place was right near my hotel. TV’s galore was the first thought to enter my noggin as I entered the establishment and a big bar right in the middle. The server recommended sliders and I went with the philly Cheesesteak, buffalo chicken and pulled pork. The order came with a mountain of fries. All the sliders were nicely dressed and flavorful and I cleaned my plate. The cheesesteak stood out the most as it delivered the most balanced(salty, savory) bite. The fries had a nice seasoning. I left satisfied and full.

Here is the deal, this is a good sports bar for far north Austin. The best dish on the menu is their medium wings. Real tasty. I have tried a few of their other staples, avg at best. The beer is cold and priced fairly well on Sundays to watch football and the atmosphere is decent.

I stopped to grab a quick lunch yesterday and had a great experience. I set at the bar & ordered the green chile burger on gluten free bun. The burger was great, as were the Cajun fries that came with them. Everything was fresh and the presentation on the burger was great. Overall a great lunch, I will be back!

They put ice and a straw in my draft cider. When I took it back to the bar, because I haven’t seen my server in forever, the bartender strained the ice out and tried to give it back to me. Flat watered down cider. I’m so disgusted. If I order red wine will they put ice and a straw in it? I don’t know because my server has not returned for 45 minutes.

The atmosphere was pretty good. The staff was vary friendly. The restaurant was clean there were plenty of TV’s to watch the game. The fried pickles and the queso we’re absolutely great. My wife had a burger and fries… she wasn’t impressed. I ordered 24 wings for $ 18.99 I was expecting a pluckers, Hooter’s like wings far from it the chicken wings tasted boiled the seasoning I felt like was thrown on top and then microwaved for a few minutes, they were absolutely terrible. The michelada was great very well seasoned no complaints on the michelada. The appetizers were the best part of our meal.

My husband and I recently stopped in. We wanted to grab some drinks and watch the game. They actually have good food! Not bar food. I had the fish tacos and he had the nachos. Everything was really good. Mojitos were amazing. The manager(Dave I think) stopped by to make sure everything was good and our waitress was awesome. We will definitely be back!

Came here to watch the ufc fight on Saturday night. The atmosphere was good semi crowded. Ordered the sliders buffalo chicken and philly cheese with sweet potato fries. Food came out promptly hot as it should be, the sliders were not as I remember them being the buffalo chicken had cheese on it that tasted sour and the Philly was very dry, sweet potato fries came out good tho. I alway ordered 2 drinks from the bar made to perfection and good size. Had a nice booth to watch the fight. Will come back but for drinks abc entertainment solely Not the Food at all. I recommend coming for drinks and the atmosphere.

Preface: I’m not into sports bars, have a preconceived notion that their food is sub-par, generic drinks, and obnoxious patrons. I’m so glad I left behind my bias and came to this Third Base. I don’t understand why this place has such a low average, and I’m hoping that this review can help turn it around. Food is *excellent*(and reasonably priced) Drinks are *on point*(and arrive in proper cups) Service is *fast*(and friendly) Patrons are *happy*(and chill) Atmosphere is *inviting*(and with good music) If I didn’t live so far away, I’d make this a regular haunt. If you live up here, definitely frequent Third Base. Oh, and do yourself the favor of ordering the stuffed tater tots(ohmygod).

I usually like to stop by on a Sat afternoon for a beer and some TV sports time. On Friday evening we stopped by to watch the NE Pats preseason game, dinner and of course beer… We sat outside right in front of a big screen showing the game which was great. Service was spot on and our beers arrived quickly. I had the buffalo chicken sliders and sweet potato fries. They were both really good and the sliders were spicy and tender. By sitting outside we were also able to enjoy a nice post dinner cigar as well, always a plus. Third base is a nice option amongst the plethora of similar venues in the area.

This is one of those times where I’ll admit that I was completely wrong about a place. Me and several girlfriends from work went here for happy hour a few weeks ago. It was their suggestion, not mine, but I went ahead, just knowing that I wasn’t going to like the place, but I like these girls and knew we’d have a fun time, regardless. Right off the bat, our server was awesome. He had our drinks out to us immediately, and then chatted with us as we decided what to eat. I opted for the hatch chile white cheddar mac’n’cheese with chicken. And you know what? It was really, really good! Surprise! Large portion, spicy, a good amount of chicken,(and oddly enough, there was corn in the mac’n’cheese… but I like corn, and it actually went along with the rest of the flavors.) We were there on a Monday night, so there was a happy hour special on 22 ounce beers, which is exactly what I got.(Two of them, as a matter of fact.) My girlfriends all seemed to enjoy their meals and drinks, as well. We sat there for several hours, and our server was super attentive and really awesome. I typically never order dessert at a restaurant, but we’d been there so long that we opted to get milkshakes. I got a Butterfinger milkshake — it was massive(whoops!), but deeeelicous. My only knock against the place was the volume of the TVs — however, they’re a sports bar, so it’s to be expected, right? So, if my friends/co-workers ever suggest going to Third Base again, I’m totally up for it. Who doesn’t love a pleasant surprise?

bleh. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with a lot of sports bars in town having food that’s a lot better than expected. This is not one of those cases. It’s loud, full of people screaming about their sport of choice, and plastered with TV screens but doesn’t have any food worth trying. I’d recommend Pluckers or Cover 2⁄3 instead.

So I see mostly negative reviews. Understandable. My wife and I visited this place for the first time… to see the Mayweather/Pacquiaou some kind of fight of some century or other… it was one of the busiest nights one could be there. But we were able to get in and find a good seat with TVs everywhere showing the event and game 7 of the Spurs and Clippers. It was a $ 20 cover charge per person but they did it on a first come first serve and there was a lot of room. No reservations. I liked it better that way… it was better than a whole bunch of other places that were showing this fight. Not a lot of them were showing this fight, by the way. Our waiter immediately tended to us and was attentive the whole 5 hours we were there. Good chips and salsa. The wings were okay and not bad for a sports bar. My wife’s margarita was okay, more fruity not much alcohol. I had beer so that was fine. Third Base has reasonable prices on all menu items. They had a good setup inside and were able to accommodate many people who wanted to see the fight inside and outside the bar. We actually had a really good time and just watching the fight with a whole bunch of people was exciting. It was such an organized setup that I can tell they are able handle big events like that with ease. So at least because of how that event went, I would visit Third Base again.

We ordered a sour apple tini, the signature lemonade, chips with quest and a burger. The tini came in a cosmo glass, was only half full and tasted like straight vermouth. No sweet, no sour, disgusting. The lemonade was sour, watered down and tasted like it sat all day before served to us in a dirty glass. The waiter dropped off the tasteless queso and drinks then didn’t come to check on us until he brought our burger so we had no time to order another drink or ask for an exchange. However, the table next to us had their waitress visit 4 times while we wondered where ours was. I am white and my fiancé is black, we encounter this type of service often and I’m starting to think it’s personal. We are great tippers and I was a bartender for 3 years. This service was horrible and inexcusable. They weren’t even busy!

There were a few issues. We went last night. I ordered 3 frozen margaritas. the first was frozen, the 2nd on the rocks, the 3rd was frozen. My date ordered the wings for us. He ordered ½ buffalo and ½ spicy ranch. We received BBQ wings. bleck! And the waitress didn’t come around to check on us so we didn’t send them back and we had both eaten one… so there’s that… :( I don’t know if I’d hang here to be honest. It was fine for what it is, but there are other places I’d rather hang out.

Stopped in here because their website said they would be playing the Blackhawks game. I just moved here from Chicago, and was excited to find a place that would actually show it. We came in, sat down and the first thing we asked was if we could have one of the channels changed to the game. It wasn’t very busy, but it still took about 20 minutes before they got around to it. So, we ordered food while we waited. I got the green hatch chili burger and sweet potato fries. The burger was an overcooked frozen meat patty covered in a ton of cheese and chilis, and way overpriced. The sweet potato fries weren’t as bad as I had feared, but a little soggy. My GF had the salad, and she said she liked it. They finally came back and said they wouldn’t be able to show the game because they didn’t have the right channels. Too bad, I was hoping to find a bar close to home to get good food and watch some hockey. I’ll save myself some money on going out and just get NHL GameCenter. Definitely won’t be back here for the food.
