I have purchased several area rugs from The Rug Store over the past several years. Joseph and company are very professional and helpful throughout the entire sales process. The selection is excellent and pricing is par for the course. The refund policy makes is a bit of a challenge if pressed for time, but they will gladly work with you on exchanges.

THIS is where to go, folks. A thousand rugs all sizes, and excellent service. Steven, Joe, as well as management there is superb. Here is my unique experience as well as my hard situation, that THEY catered to: I had just sold my home and moved here. I had to rent a home, and the home is lovely, but, had a downstairs issue… no carpeting. The flooring was a beautiful«multicolored» rock tile. This meant I had to choose a color, and it had to be a solid, for the area rugs in living room and dining room. When I walked into this amazing place, I felt as if I had died and gone to rug heaven. After searching many many other furniture stores, I wished that I had came here FIRST. I brought in a photo in my phone to show them my dilemma. They were on it in a flash. I wanted something soft, thick and nice to walk or lay on in the living room. They dialed in the perfect color and set me to cheering. Then, even the manager got in on helping me also find a good rug for the dining room to make a subtle but nice transition from room-to-room. I left with a smile. I am SO excited to say that the stress and shopping is over and I am a VERY happy lady.

Hell to the Yeah Rug Store! My experience here was so fantastic I don’t even know what to say… I know, I’ll tell every detail of my shopping experience like I always do! ;-) So, my husband and I decided we needed a rug. Neither of us had ever bought a rug before so we both wandered out aimlessly to the Lacks«Going out of business store clearance» sale. We found several lackluster rugs but nothing that made us swoon. We also found that they had marked their prices way up in order to «slash them by 60 — 80%». Coffee tables for $ 600? Really? Anyway, driving around after leaving lacks, we stumbled upon the rug store. Holy moly they’ve got a lot of rugs! Within seconds of walking in we liked half a dozen rugs more than anything we’d seen at Lacks and they were in the same price range. We were left alone to browse for a while and then Farhad found us. We gave him some idea of what we were looking for and he began making suggestions. At no point did he ever try to up-sell us. Some of his suggestions were at the very lowest prices of the range we were looking in. His knowledge of rugs was impressive but his skill with colors was invaluable. As another Unilocaler mentioned, he used to do colors for Nordstrom’s. My husband and I have accomplished a lot together, but we know where our weaknesses lie and color is definitely one of them. Once we told him what colors our living room was, Farhad shot down 75% of the rugs we had been considering. He said he wanted us to have a rug that people would see in our house and ask us where we got it. Our own business has succeeded on word of mouth alone, so I can understand and respect this approach. Farhad made suggestions based on our input and colors and they were all in our price range; again, many of them were at the lowest end of our price range. If there is anything I can complain about, it is that there are too many rugs. It can be a little overwhelming. Anyway, my husband and I kept trying to look at the rugs ourselves to free up the staff to do other things, but all three of the staff there continued to help us the entire time we were there. The rugs we were looking at were in the $ 300 — $ 700 range, so it wasn’t like they were going to make a killing off of us or anything. We narrowed it down to two very different styles(of course one I liked and one my husband liked) and were having a hell of a time deciding and then we were told we could take as many rugs as we wanted home to try out for 24 hours and all we had to do was leave a credit card number. Our card was never charged. Thank goodness for this policy because we got the rugs home and HATED both of the designs(turns out rugs with patterns on them made us feel the room looked cluttered and we needed something more solid). Without taking the patterned rugs home, we never would have known we preferred a patternless rug. We would have made a several hundred dollar mistake if not for this awesome policy. The next day we took our two rugs back and signed out two more. All three of the staff were just as helpful on the second day. We loved both of the rugs we brought home the second day and it was a difficult decision. In the end we are thrilled with our new rug. The husband and I both love it equally so no one had to compromise. The quality is wonderful and we know it is unique, practically another piece of art in our house. We returned the rug we did not want and talked down the price on the one we ended up buying by $ 100. We left The Rug Store wishing we had a need for more rugs. We asked ourselves, «Can we give rugs as gifts to everyone for Christmas? Can we just go back and hang out with those guys? «Should we pull up all the carpet upstairs and put down rugs?» Any excuse to receive the quality customer service we received here again soon! Let me reiterate, none of the employees ever tried to up-sell and I appreciate that so much. We were treated with the utmost respect and everyone was incredibly helpful even though it was clear we wouldn’t be buying one of the more expensive rugs. Farhad even tried to talk us out of the more expensive wool rugs because we told him we had pets and he explained that they are much harder to clean than the acrylic ones. Their knowledge of rugs and color matching was extensive and very useful. The store itself had so many beautiful rugs we had fun just looking at all of them. By the end we had spent 3 hours viewing the gorgeous rugs. Finally, their policy of letting you sign rugs out to see how they look in your house was a life saver. I really hope I’ve done this place justice. I know I’ll be recommending it to anyone and everyone I know who even thinks they might need a rug.

Be wary of The Rug Store’s sales people. The salesman who helped us out was pretty good at directing us to rugs that matched our tastes, but he was definitely a «salesman.» The rug that we liked most was«one of the most expensive, high end ones,» which landed it a price tag of $ 4000. Fortunately, it was on sale for 60% off for the Memorial Day weekend, bringing it to the low price of $ 1200. When the salesman wouldn’t give me any information about the rug(e.g., brand, design number), I didn’t press the matter because I figured I could just find it online. Sure enough, a few minutes of searching once I got home and the rug has an MSRP of about $ 1400. Hooray for salesmen who rely on shady practices rather than quality of the product to make a sale. Add to that the insulting practice of complimenting us to butter us up, and methinks I’ll go elsewhere.

I have bought rugs here on two different occasions from Farhad(the guy with the suit and patterned tie as one other Unilocaler describes him). Farhad has a great eye for what will work in your home if you bring in cushions/pillows and other items to match. I have never felt that he tried to talk me into more than I wanted to spend, and during my last visit I got a great deal on a hand woven rug which I love. I have also used their 24 hour return/refund policy and have not had any issues. Lastly, if you do visit with Farhad, you will enjoy it – he is a trip to talk to and makes the shopping process fun.

Watch your credit card charges! The very hovering pushy talkative guy is annoying. He said he is a pro with decorating and suggested a rug, special order, which means only store credit if it doesn’t work. Full refunds on regular returns made in 24 hours, or store credit otherwise. After much discussion, they will let you try a rug for full refund AFTER24 hours, but have them put that in writing on your receipt as I did. They charged my Visa for the rug I ordered and for another one I tried out. I returned the first rug, got the Visa credit, picked up another rug, returned it, they credited, then voided, then charged, then??? Those guys make my head spin. The rug I actually ended up keeping, cost less than the original rug price that was charged, so they owed me money and I had to point this out. They did the refund, but you have to WATCH for the charges and credits especially when trying out several rugs as I did. Other than that, they have a very large selection of rugs at comparable prices.

You must be leary of their 24 hour return policy. I purchased a rug on Saturday, didn’t like it and tried to return it on Monday. They wouldn’t take it back. I was offered a store credit, but for a person whose just spent $ 1000 on an overpriced rug was highly insulted that they couldn’t offer my money back. One of the salesman was very polite and understanding. The other(manager) was an a*s to say the least. He treated my wife and I very poorly and clearly has no understanding of how a paying customer should be handled. I’ll never return to this store.

Pretty good selection and a variety of price ranges so I’d guess anyone could find something suitable here. One of the guys working here used to work color stories for Nordstrom’s or Neiman’s…dunno how he ended up slumming in this discount rug warehouse, but he made a great suggestion recently while I was shopping with a client. You can’t miss him… he’s the one wearing a suit w/funky tie/patterned shirt combo.
