Unique bar and coffee spot. Variety of infused liquors and draft beers. Great food truck on location as well.

Love this coffee shop/bar so much. One of the best things we like about Austin. It’s laid back, services great coffee and beer plus tons of cool infused vodka and other liquor concoctions. Plus an outdoor stage for live music and food trailers to the back for BBQ and tacos. The perfect combination all around. Also love that they have a quiet room where you can work in peace without annoying people on the phone, talking loudly etc. oh and did I mention they’re pretty much open all night?

Overall, I don’t get the hype. Came on a wet weather weekend to get some work done. Pros: –Tons of seating, both inside and outside –serves both coffee and alcoholic drinks so it can be a study spot or a social spot –staff were friendly and easygoing –they are really hardcore about their themed décor. Kind of cool, not my taste. I think a lot of people could appreciate the change from the usual coffee shop Cons: –I’m no coffee expert, but this was NOT a good cappuccino. It was so sour that I couldn’t finish the drink. Maybe the barista was new, but I was not a fan –the«quiet hall» was dripping rainwater, and you could clearly hear staff conversation and loud music. It sounds like a good idea, but it just didn’t pan out for me –not a fan of the seating in the quiet hall; it’s a lot of one seater pews with little tables. Good for isolating yourself for work, but not the most comfortable

When I first came here I could have sworn I was transported back to Brooklyn. The people(in some ways), cocktails, food… but then again, it looks like an old time saloon… so gets you back in TX. Very chill outdoor setting and I was fortunate to come at times when a country-ish style band was playing which added to the vibe. Oh, and they have a fire pit. On one occasion, came here at brunch time on Sunday. Had the«range grits» which is venison and antelope on top of grits. It was excellent but smallish portion relative to the price. The coffee is good. For those of you that like to work out of cafés, this could serve the purpose. However — the wifi was not great one of the times I went… worked out fine next time though. Friendly, helpful and efficient service.

This has been my favorite bar in Austin ever since I hit legal drinking age. Not only is it a bar, but they offer caffeine fixes 24⁄7 for all my studying needs. I’ve spent countless nights studying my ass off here. Plenty of seating(they constantly add more tables/chairs), food trucks out back, Voodoo donuts, board games, infused alcohol, the best/nicest bar staff in the city(most of the time)…I could go on and on but this is just a place to experience for yourself. A good mix of people for people-watching as well. Every time I go, they have some kind of new addition. I hope this means they are doing AWESOME and will stick around for years to come. Love y’all, Buzzmill!

So… kind of a throwback beer garden. New age hippies, hipsters and young folks. I’m surprised no woman was nursing a baby. This place has a funky vibe and I love the music stage because it’s just the right size for small bands. They also have a cool variety of beers on tap and in bottles. Go by and warm up by the fire, grab a cold beer and you just might hear 1977 in the background.

The think possibly the best thing going for The Buzz Mill is that they are open 24 hours. It doesn’t hurt either that they have ample outdoor sitting, live music, a fire pit(if memory serves), and an assortment of home-made infused whiskeys I’d be interested in trying some time. I have yet to have more than tea here, but the couple of times I’ve been it’s been a-ok.

We went there for brunch on Sunday with a big crowd and That place is awesome! The manager was super nice and would stop by our table some and see how everything was. The staff was equally friendly. And I like the music that was playing. It’s fun it like frontier land. I had the Elk Chili Hash with two fried eggs! OMG so good! The outside patio is a great place to bring your pooch — but please keep it in on a leash. And part of the tables are covered — it’s very relaxing out back! Even with some people smoking it was not bothersome.

I don’t care about plaid I just want my drink… I have been going to Buzz Mill for about 2 years now. I keep giving it another chance, but I am done. The outside setting is awesome and there are some cool comedy and open mic nights there. However, their main attractions, beer and coffee call up a bad experience for me 2 out of 3 times. Their draft beer is frequently flat. For a year the beer out of the coolers was warm. I think they have the temperature taken care of now, but flat beer is pretty inexcusable. Lastly, their coffee. The only way to spoil a good tasting coffee for me is a bad attitude. Some times at Buzz Mill I get a server who is just plain rude, sometimes the server is doesn’t even look up or hand me my change, instead just putting it down on the counter and turns away. This time I was told my 2 lattes would take 10 minutes. I stepped outside for 5 min. When I returned my coffees were set to the side un marked and mixed up. When I asked about it the server said«They were sitting there for a long time so I moved them. I’m not sure which one is which.» This kind of service isn’t «cool» or «hipster» its just bad. It keeps me from spending money there. That sounds like a bad business to me. I’m bummed it didn’t work out. P. S. The AC is rarely ever working. Studying there is a bit frustrating because of slamming doors and spotty wifi.

I visited on New Year’s Day and absolutely intend to return. The staff were manly and agreeable, and the space was rustic and simple. Quite simply, it’s a good place for a 1990s esque coffee break. This place gets a bonus because I love that there’s a boozy bar conjoined to the coffee bar for Irish coffees, and that the cost of a whiskey coffee runs $ 6. Also, amig@s, check in on Unilocal and get a dollar off! It’s peaceful and quiet inside, particularly in the back room where I was able to begin and finish Gillian Flynn’s new short story. I’d be interested in seeing standing catered food options from regional classics like Taco Deli and Swedish Hill; when I went the food truck out back was closed and so I went without. Boys, feed me AND give me a quiet place to read over my boozy coffee, and I’m all yours.

Used to really dig this place but the vibe has gone downhill. Every time I’m there, there’s a long line inside that creeps slowly. Then I get major attitude from the bar keep and I swear, I’m too sweet and polite for my own good sometimes. I hate feeling like I just gave my money to get shat upon. In addition to this, their«food» inside has been inedible every time I’ve gotten anything. Months ago I got a donut on a late nite impromptu splurge visit and it was the worst donut I’ve ever had. And that’s saying a lot. I love the concept, love the 24hr thing, and love the fact that they have music. But just to go and hang and frequent a joint? Nope, no longer.

Tuesday — live music that was chill, bluesy but not too overpowering so conversation was possible in tables away from the stage and inside. Decently full for a week day. Dranks: There is a bloody mary bar that is pretty fabulous(on the weekends? don’t quote me on that) but it offers a variety of coffee beverages, beer, and coffee spiking options so meeting a buddy for drinks can include the alcoholic variety or not. Food: I’ve tried a vegan quiche? or some other vegan item I was unimpressed with and ended up feeding to a hungry ridgeback(his eyes asked politely) and the inside furniture is not the most comfortable, but I might just be nitpicking. The food trailers run out of food sometimes(like the bbq trailer) so get it while it’s hot, but the options are pretty good for a coffee shop. Parking: There are lots on both sides of the coffee shop, so don’t let your maps app confuse you and use the back parking if the front is out of space. Space: The ample seating outside with picnic tables and benches are good for groups small and large to sit together and move around comfortably. Overall worth the buzz. Hah. I used a pun.

once was enough and that sums it up. I’m certain i’m not hipster enough for this joint. Though I can see why ppl flock here. Coffee, booze, outside(shareable tables), infused liquors, looked like some local snack(tacos and more tacos) a mini fridge with light bites, and live music. Thought the evening i was there i wouldn’t call what i was hearing music by any means-to each their own. I would do a drive through and grab a quick drink. Not a hang out spot for myself,

I’ve been here a few times now at all given hours of the evening/late night and I am still not sure what to make of this place. They seem to have an everchanging revolving door of food trucks, parking always seems to be a hot mess, and the baristas are either the most pretentious or nicest people you will ever meet. if you are a somewhat discerning beer drinker(like myself) where the only time you drink a plastic cup of PBR is when you’re playing Flippy Cup, trying to figure out what they have on tap is like a draught version of Wheel of Fortune and getting side-eye and all kinds of Austin hipster shade because you dare ask what the Karbach they are currently serving is when there are 8 people behind you in line is not my idea of a fun evening. Seriously, print a damn beer menu or put it on a chalkboard somewehre?! The crowd here is also a weird eclectic mix of the entire Austin population. I did enjoy a recent local artists art show in the little back corner of their patio. This place definitely has its regulars and is attractive to certain demographics, but alas, I am not one of them.

Ambiance: Pile on the plaid, but leave the axe at home. This is as Appalachian as it gets in Austin. The cozy inside resembles a lumberjacks cabin adorned with a raw wood bar, bear décor, and rustic, intimate tables. The outside it vast and open with community seating for large parties or social butterflies. They also have smaller tables for parties of 2 – 4. The stage often hosts musical acts, or BuzzKill comedy every Wednesday, but you can escape the noise if you want a quiet night on the side of the building or past the back bar. Hip bulb lights and a fire pit light up the space and allow clear visibility even on the darkest night. Cuisine: There are, how I see it, four options to eat at Buzzmill. All are good options. 1. There is a randomly opened food truck that serves mostly burgers, but also Sunday Brunch. 2. There is 1776 Cheesesteak that I should write a separate review about, since it’s so good and authentic. 3. There is a small selection of sandwiches and healthier items in a cooler inside. 4. There is tons of beer for those on a liquid grain diet. Service: The line to the bar can get a bit long, but I believe the new bar system and the addition of the outside bar will alleviate this issue on even the busiest nights. I am a repeat customer, so I get treated well at Buzzmill. Overall the staff is great. Especially the coffee guy, Hey Thor!

My favorite neighborhood coffee spot. Good coffee and the guys who work there are really great too. The art all over the inside makes it a fun spot to work for awhile or just relax with a cup of coffee. I’ve heard it’s fun at night when it turns to a bar but haven’t been at night yet.

It doesn’t matter if it’s day or night, the Buzzmill’s open and waiting to pour you a beverage. This lumber-clad café/bar is open 24⁄7 and makes about a dozen house-infused liquors as well as a strong cold brew coffee. Why not combine the two into a cup? The large courtyard has a firepit and a lot of picnic and high-top tables to chill with your friends. There’s always people around, even at 2AM on a Sunday night(ok, technically Monday morning). Free wifi, food, and the aforementioned beverages make this a great spot I visited several times during my long weekend stay in Austin!

The service is often slow, but it’s a great atmosphere and they had a good choice of coffee and infused liquor. I really enjoyed the pecan whiskey and DrPepper. They have had good live music the last few times I’ve been here too, so it’s nice to have a choice to sit inside and chat or sit outside and take it all in! It’s well worth the visit. Be prepared, there isn’t much parking here.

The Buzz Mill is a great addition to the neighborhood. Great(and cheap!) beer selection and a nice strong cup of coffee. The events they hold here are awesome and appeal to all kinds. You like comedy? boom. You like live music? Boom. They’ve got it! I’ve heard theres brunch here but, never tried it! The busiest day of my industry is a Sunday so, I’ve given up on brunch anywhere. However, I love that there’s delicious(again, cheap) BBQ in the back! You would think with how positively I talk about the atmosphere and amenities that I’d give it 5 stars. However, they lose not one BUTTWO stars for their service. I mean, come on dude. EVERY single time I’ve gone in, the bartenders are indifferent and treat you like crap. They seem extremely bothered by each of their orders and if it’s because they’re busy most nights, they should probably bring in more staff to relieve a little stress. Perhaps more cigarette breaks for these busy guys? I don’t know. I just wish they were a bit nicer. I want them to be just as happy as I am after I’ve ordered at the bar, sat down, stewed about the rudeness and got over it.

Okay… can we say east side chill? It’s pretty much my local hangout. Log cabin interior, resident stuffed bear, and infused whiskey makes this place wicked bad! Add to that the food trucks out back and the free wifi and its a great place to hangout after work, before bed, or on the weekend. The AC isn’t that key inside and inside there’s some limited seating out front. There’s a bunch of searing outside, but in this heat even in the shade it’s oppressive. Great in the winter time. Also…I hear the coffee is good. I’m no coffee drinker, so I can’t attest. But, what I can say is that I did get a cup of coffee from buzzmill one night when I was making a red velvet cake for my boyfriend’s birthday and this cup made the recipe outstanding!!!

Love the concept of this place: want to study? They’ve got coffee, free wifi and a «quiet hall.» Want to meet up with colleagues or friends? They’ve got indoor and outdoor seating, beers on tap, and original infused liquors like pecan whiskey and grapefruit gin for cocktails. Want to soak up the rays with your favorite furry friend? Dogs are allowed in the outdoor areas. Hungry? Buzzmill’s own Ironwood BBQ is cooking from 11 to 11, and numerous other food trucks frequent this place. Prices for coffee($ 2 – 3), beers(there are 5 dollar drafts and $ 3PBR), and food($ 7 – 11) are all reasonable. Plus, check in on Unilocal and you get $ 1 off a coffee drink! Whether you’re looking to wake up or wind down, this open-24-hours coffee shop and bar is a good choice. PS, try the lemongrass rose gin – it’s phenom.

I just love this place so much. Just SOMUCH. I study here, I get drunk here … I love it. $ 2PBR pints for when I’m feeling cheap. A $ 5 craft beer when I’m feeling fancy. Maybe some crazy infused whiskey. Or cold-brewed ice coffee if I don’t fee like alcohol(hardly ever). I mostly order«The Bear Hug» tho. It’s $ 5 for a shot of whisky and a pbr. **food trucks have changed in recent months. It’s now Ironwood BBQ and a Cheesesteak place that offers a vegan option! Always entertained by the live music or comedy. Except holy crap when a band is playing you literally CANNOT have a conversation. They blast the music so damn loud. So if it’s a date don’t go sit outside expecting to get to know each other during the nights/times there’s a band. Unless of course you think it could be an awkward date… in that case DEFINITELY go so y’all don’t have to talk to each other. Whatever. They have outlets some areas outside for lap tops so that’s good to know in case no space inside. You can grab Apples to Apples, Battleship, Connect 4, etc. from the shelves in «The Quiet Hall»(literally exactly what it sounds like). ANDIFYOU’RESTUDYINGINTHEQUIETHALLDON’T BE A DICKANDTALKONYOURCELLPHONE. some ppl… mannnn… ANDOFCOURSEMYFAVORITEPART… THESTAFF! Everyone is so damn nice. Which you may not get that first impression probably just cuz they’re super busy a lot but since i’ve been going there often you get to know everyone and they are all super fucking rad. I am wavering between a 3 and a 4 star rating for this place. It’s got a cool vibe, two food trucks available(bbq and vegan food), and plenty of seating indoors and out. However, the service was slow the two times I’ve been here and I was kind of offended by the barista. I ordered a macchiato and was told, «You know that they traditionally have two shots of espresso and a touch of milk foam?» in the most condescending tone of voice. Yes, in fact, that’s why I ordered it. I understand that there is probably confusion about drink names and content, but they didn’t question my S.O.‘s order. Just sayin. Anyway, it’s fairly busy on weekend nights, but not so busy that you couldn’t find a seat. 2 parking lots make parking fairly easy as well. I like it for the ability to bring together my meat eating friends with my vegan friends, but I’m not sure I’ll be back anytime soon.

Stop 1 for our Biking Foodie Tour — the bar to complement the Blue Ox BBQ. So. Many. Infused. Alcohol. Flavors. Pecan whiskey? Check. Kiwi-mango vodka? Check. Check it out! First thing that catches your attention is the BEAR. Second is the snacks bar, pretty cool, never seen something like this before. Third, the vodkas, and the whiskeys, and the tequila, and the gin! And there’s a quiet room too! The whole area feels a little like a saloon from the Wild West Hollywood movies, and their patio is doggie friendly!
