Very original gelato, well deserved Restaurant Poll award for best gelato five times. Very pleased with the service, products, and atmosphere. A must on every Austinite’s dessert list.

My boyfriend took me here for the first time after a long day of two back to back labs ugh. We got a medium sized cup and put 4 flavors in one cup haha. I went with salted caramel and some fruity flavor that I think was mango? I honestly can’t remember his but all the flavors we got were good. I came here a second time with another friend and the staff was super friendly and was really patient with us as we were sampling and even had conversation with us. I got the salted caramel again and also, cookies and cream. Both were really good and creamy! Overall, super friendly staff and good gelato. Would come back again!

I was curious about this place becuase of been feature as one of the best gelato places. I had gelatos in different places and countries, but in my humble opinion, the gelatos they serve are mostly american flavors but not italian. It has a charming fireplace to warm you up. But I still think they should include more italian flavors to balance their selection.

Plenty of flavors to choose from here, all of which you can try. Our server was genuine and friendly(came on the night of the 20th so shout outs to him). Décor of this place is nice and quaint. Parking wasn’t too bad as there’s a lot outside of the store. I really liked the fake fire place outside and sitting there was nice. The seats were unfortunately rather dirty though, and I didn’t notice it until my friend noticed my pants had these weird stains on the outside… yes, now-dried gelato, so I encourage y’all to keep the tables and seats cleaner outside. Now, onto the taste of the gelato. I can really only compare this to Dulce Neve since their quality is around the same level. Honey Bourbon and the Coffee Oreo thing is the way to go here… well, that was the combination recommended to us by the server. I’m sure there are more combos out there but this one was rather spot on. It tastes exactly like you would think, except the bourbon is extremely light and adds moreso of a finisher than an equal counterpart to the taste of the coffee oreo. Now in comparison to Dulce Neve, assuming you’ve been there, the first thing you’ll notice is that it seems that this place’s gelato is a LOT less THICK. It almost made me think of it as ice cream… but of course that’s a sin for gelato lovers right? ;} Personally, I still prefer Dulce Neve over this place, but I still encourage everyone to come try this place too so you can compare it yourself. Also, the pricing did seem a tad bit more expensive here, but not that far off from Dulce Neve’s. 8/10, would definitely come again.

Extremely friendly staff and pretty good gelato. I got a large(4 flavors), and for the price it seems you get a pretty decent amount of gelato. I chose Texican vanilla, salted caramel, bourbon vanilla, and exotic fruit. Of those, I’d say my favorite were the exotic fruit and salted caramel. Throwing the fruity flavor in was a strange mix, especially since the gelato melts after a while. If getting many flavors, I’d recommend getting some that blend together well, just in case you don’t finish before it starts melting :) I went at a peak time, Friday night. The indoor environment seems pretty loud, with or without other people present. There’s a constant loud hum from some of their machinary or AC I presume. If there’s at least a group or two, it gets louder with them trying to talk over the loud hum. I would recommend noise-isolating or noise-cancelling earphones/headphones if you’re looking to study or do some work here. Or maybe try sitting outside on the patio; I didn’t try because it was too humid when I went.

Tried some gelato while in town on a scorching weekend. I think I got the nuts flavor and it was pretty good. Service was friendly. Kind of a snug fit inside so try to hit it during off-peak times.

Very good coffee, fine gelato(nowhere near spectacular– go further south for the best), delicious smelling paninis, and oddly frazzled, rude staff. Whoever was running the shop that day appeared to have 2 new staff helping out. There was one customer inside dining and myself and 3 friends stopped in— so, no need to be rushed or attend to the flood of customers. The 2 ‘new’ staff members welcomed us and we began asking questions about gelato flavors. The person in charge interrupts to ask how she can help us(strange, we’re being helped) and told us to come over to her and she would help us(also strange). The staff member helping us with flavors handed me a sample and then the person in charge stepped in to say that she gave me the wrong flavor and barked orders to the staff member that had been helping me. The 2 staff members scurried off to complete their tasks. It was a very strange experience. I wish I had recorded it to get a full script of the interactions. The shop was not busy, nothing was wrong to the customers and no one was upset, and the person in charge was publicly degrading to her staff members working that morning. ‘ Seems to be a good place to get coffee. As for gelato, I wouldn’t get it here unless someone I was with demanded gelato immediately and that was the only near place. I prefer a place down south, much creamier texture and tantalizing flavor combinations. I’d come back to try the paninins, they smelled so good.

Friendly service and great patio. As for the gelato, perfect consistency. I just wish the flavoring was a tad bit better. The Hazelnut, along with the Texican Vanilla are always delish. Salted Caramel tastes more like just Caramel. The husband is a fan of the Vanilla Bean, so give that a try if that’s your cup of tea.

I’m writing this review due to the lack of professionalism from the owner/manager. My coworkers and I went to Teo’s today for some gelato. We have been there many times before, but after todays visit we will never go there again. There was a line and from what we could tell only one person helping those in line. The owner aka Matt was just finishing up making a coffee. All of a sudden Matt(owner) yells at the only guy working the line to hurry up all the while Matt is just standing there not doing anything. I’m not sure what Matt’s problem was with this poor guy. There were two other people standing there just scooping ice cream into to go containers. Why couldn’t one of them help out? If there are paying customers standing in front of you stop what you are doing and help them out. Then Matt goes over to the table where my coworkers are sitting and complains to them about this poor guy. Dude, if you have time to complain you have time to scoop gelato. Finally this poor guy asks me what I want and then Matt comes over and tells him to get more gelato from the back. Are you kidding me? Matt are your arms broken? There were other people behind the counter that could have filled the gelato case! Hey here is an idea, you do it!!! Then Matt also disappears to the back at which point we here him screaming at this poor guy from the back. Matt I think you are a horrible manager! If you can’t get your staff to do their job maybe you should take some management courses on how to treat people! While your at it take some anger management courses too! We did not walk out of your place today due to slow service. We left because of you and how unprofessional you are. PS embarrassing your employees in front of everyone in your store only makes you look like a bigger ass!

Light, all natural ice creams and gelato. There is always a section with seasonal flavors to try. Friendly staff, and nice sitting environment. The patio with the fireplace is great for sipping their excellent coffee in the winter. They now serve sandwiches and beagles! They use to have a little card on each table comparing how little calories their ice cream have compared to other places.

We’ve been to Italy and this is not Gelato! This is more like ice crushed with ice cream! The place was empty and they barely had any Gelato in the display. This place is also very expensive! 4x tiny cups for $ 17? Yeah, never again!

In searching for a new ice cream spot, I came across Teo Gelato. The staff is super friendly and will let you try as many flavors as you’d like. I ended up getting coconut nutella and peanut butter nutella(Nuts) which were to die for! Parking was easy and there were plenty of spots to sit. I would agree with a few of the other reviewers in that none of the prices up on the menu board are listed which is a little odd. Customers would really appreciate having the prices posted on menus. This might not be the newest or trendiest places, but it was cute, convenient and most importantly tasty!

This place was really yummy and I will definitely be a repeat customer. For flavors I recommend the strawberries and crème, mango, chocolate/chocolate with Oreo. They have so many flavors to choose and try that I couldn’t get all of them,(I wouldn’t recommend the bourbon vanilla though — it tasted a little like sunscreen to me). It’s a bit expensive but in the tiny you do get a lot of gelato! The staff was very sweet and allowed us to try a bunch of things which was nice.

Went in at 9pm, they close at 10pm. Employees were vacuuming and could care less that we walked in. Once again only the small freezer had gelato in it… the other 2⁄3 were not available. The employee who helped us failed to mention the peanut butter gelato was sugar-free. After my 3 year old daughter ate it I overheard another employee tell other customers it was sugar-free which meant my daughter just ate aspartame… something we do not believe any human should eat. THANKSFORTHAT!!! Also a big thanks for not telling us that had we paid cash our bill would have been 50% off. It was great to hear you tell other customers that after we paid. The gelato itself is overpriced and bland. The salted carmel is the only one that is worth getting.

The gelato is on the pricy side compares to the other gelato places in town. Not all the gelato are out in the freezer, while asked to try out the different favors, the only guy behinds the counter has to go back and forth. They are very short staffed, we waited 5 mins till the guys has a chance to serve us. The general environment is sticky and gross because they are so short staffed, the bathroom handle is sticky and gross, so are all the tables. The coffee menu has no prices on it, so the only server had to go back and forth to the counter just to check out the price. The 12oz iced coffee is $ 3! The priciest I ever had in town. I probably will never come back for this place, it’s not a cozy hangout place.

I’m nuts about Nuts. It’s Tèo’s award-winning and wonderful concoction of peanut butter & chocolate hazelnut. It’s creamy, flavorful, and still manages not to be too overwhelming. It went perfectly with their peanut butter Oreo flavor, which was loaded with chocolate cookie bliss. All of their other flavors are decent and pretty unique — Riso is a delicious rice pudding gelato, flavored with cinnamon and filled with small pieces of chewy rice(think«Horchata» in gelato form), Captain Crunch tastes exactly like the cereal, and Texas Whiskey & Pecans has a strong alcohol flavor, swirled with caramel and pecans. Not sure if this is my favorite place to get gelato in Austin, but it’s definitely a solid choice.

Really cozy and cute place! Got their gelato and the flavors are amazing! Get the Bourbon Honey, pineapple, Dulce de leche, and Mexican vanilla! Those were delicious! The texture is the only thing that is not as good as others… it’s kind of icy and not as creamy and firm as others I have tried… but other than that, it was pretty good:) really like the cozy atmosphere :)

Amazing does not do this place justice. Their gelato has literally won WORLDWIDE awards for flavors like TEXASWHISKEYPECAN, goat cheese/cherry, NUTS(peanut butter & Nutella). Best part… it’s the fat of ice cream like Amy’s(and wayyyyy better tasting IMHO lmao). The coffee is good too

[Yelp 365 in 2014 Challenge — 356:365] Teo really tries to keep it original style! Adorbs, cute café style interior with large outdoor seating complete with fireplace and the Teo adpoted black cat(such a loooover!). They have several wonderful flavors of gelato and a few dairy free Sorbetto options(fruit flavors) if you’re in the mood for a cold, sweet treat. They also offer a varity of coffee and tea options, as well as some paninis and a few other snacks if you’re hungry. Teo is a great place to stop in, sample some of the aforementioned goods, and simply relax. Staff is super nice, prices are a-ok, and it’s such a GREAT alternative to that always buzzing, overpriced, big name chain coffee joint that so many people love. Yup, I’m a ‘bucks hater, but… I like Teo a lot. Like, a lot. Ckeck it out! :-)

Oh Teo, how I’ve missed you. I used to come all the time with BOGO coupons in the UT Student Discount Book(no, I didn’t get both cones for myself). That is a SWEET deal, although I’m not sure they’re offering this anymore. They certainly don’t need to with all this publicity and recognition from being a finalist in the World Gelato Tour. I’ve never tried a flavor I didn’t like, and I’ve tried a shocking number. My favorites are stracciatella and anything with hazelnut. The gelato can be really sweet, so if you’re sensitive to that, maybe go with the sorbets. There’s free wifi and ample seating/parking. I’ll never understand why there’s never a line here. Calling all hipsters!
