Food was not great, the only things that were authentic from this place was the salsa and chips. Extremely disappointed with the food. Bacon was raw, tortilla seemed like it was store bought and it was not what a taco is referred to as. Would not recommend it to anyone.

Came here for the first time today. Food was decently priced, had good flavor(not mind blowing), but it’s also grass-fed and organic! The service is just awesome. JUSTAWESOME. I love Austin for this reason. Plenty of parking in front. Food was fresh, organic/natural, fast, and good. Would definitely come back here.

Love this place! Hurried over here for a quick breakfast the other morning after having lab work that required fasting. Great service and the Jess special was sooooooo good! There are several picnic tables outside which was so accommodating for eating in the 75 degree February weather. My only suggestion for outside might be a shade cover with misting system because Summer’s get so hot. We will definitely be back!

We went for the first time this weekend & really enjoyed it. The person taking orders was crazy friendly, patient and had great suggestions– fantastic personality for that position! Love the communal table. Our food came out fast, fresh & good. Love the salsas & queso dip, enjoyed every taco except shrimp ones– they had an odd chlorine flavor– fresh but weird. we did not complain– Loved the soda choices– the biggest reason I will be back was because of the employees– relaxed, super friendly, engaged, & attentive– it genuinely shows that they really enjoy working at Tacodeli– to me that makes a place– the experience! a child spilled their drink & came to tell a server– he was so nice about it–«Don’t you worry about it — we all spill–« he told her as he quickly cleaned it up and gave her a new cup– loved that!

Tacodeli is one of Austin’s many great options for delicious tacos. Fresh ingredients, a wide variety of choices and great salsas to kick it up a notch or two. I’ve eaten here several times and it has been excellent every time. All of the tacos are great and they have now added some fantastic caramels from Chocolaterie Tessa, just down the street, and it is a great way to finish off a meal. Like the Terminator, I’ll be back.

I LOVE tacodeli and I love this location. Along with Torchy’s, tacodeli is «the other Austin taco» that you have to try. It probably says enough that I bought a tacodeli T-shirt at this location. Any taco place where you leave with your tacos PLUS you buy a T-shirt is probably pretty special.

Taco deli is so good!!! The Otto is the the best, it’s really simple(black beans, bacon, avocado, jack cheese) but it’s out of this world. Everything is delicious but the Otto is incredible!

Tacodeli is hands-down my favorite restaurant — No kidding. I can’t believe I’ve never written a review, seeing as how the place gets a substantial part of my paycheck every month(I/we eat there at least twice a week.) Side note: Everything on their menu is Gluten-Free if you order with corn tortillas(which are just way more authentic in the first place!) Absolutely Heavenly: Hanger Steak(only on Mondays). Quite possibly my favorite beef dish of any kind, readily eclipsing hundred-dollar steaks. Good everywhere, but Gracy Farms(Burnet at MoPac) and Spyglass do it slightly better than the other stores. Other«best tacos in town»: — Mojo Fish(easily the best fish taco I’ve had in Austin, and maybe anywhere), — Chile en Nogado(an occasional special, you just have to catch it, but it’s flat amazing), — The mouth-wateringly amazing DeliBelly(a pork belly taco that’s a Wednesday/Saturday special — if Noble Pig did tacos, even they couldn’t top this…) — Space Cowboy — one of several good vegetarian tacos, and I’m an avowed carnivore, so that’s saying something… — Mole — Tacodeli has one of the best moles in town, awesome with any choice of meat. — Frontero Fundido — I like sirloin best, but the other options are also excellent. — and of course many others: Akaushi Picadillo, Carne Asada, The Happy, The Cowboy, The Loco and the Lomo, Scallops, and the excellent breakfast tacos, especially the Jess Special(served early or all day on weekends). Tacodeli has excellent guacamole, too, and a very credible queso(go ahead and try the«Roberto’s Brazo Fuerte Dip» version with the goodies thrown in, it’s only a little bit more.) People often compare Tacodeli to Torchy’s, which is also good, but the two are such totally different styles that they’re not really comparable — Torchy’s is Southern Fried and queso drenched, Tacodeli is Interior Mexican, with the most amazing array flavors in their sauces, marinades, and salsas.(I use the salsas mostly on the breakfast tacos, as the sauces and marinades on many of the others are best left as-is. YMMV.) I also like the addition of several Aguas Frescas as drink choices a couple of summers back. I’ve «eaten the menu» at Tacodeli, and almost any choice you make will be a true standout in flavor. Quality of ingredients is great, too — excellent locally-sourced meats, vegetables, and eggs.(I’m pretty sure the cheapest way to buy Vital Farms’ premium organic eggs is to let Tacodeli make a taco from them first!) HIGHLY recommended.

Somehow I failed to write a review of TacoDeli over my dozens of trips here. Please forgive me for I have sinned. I could write a long review romanticizing each taco I’ve cavorted with, but that would last hours. For a long time, I debated Tacodeli vs. Torchy’s. In my aged wisdom, I’ve embraced TacoDeli as the pinnacle. Whereas Torchy’s requires queso, fried goodness, anda borderline heart attack to reach the taco climax, Tacodeli does it with spice, flavor, and a fine selection of ingredients and delivers a satisfaction that lingers long after.

Best breakfast tacos I’ve ever had. Tacodeli has become a morning ritual on my frequent trips to Austin. Always fresh and well prepared, and the staff is outstanding. The Dona sauce is unbelievable.

This is my hands down, go to, get it right every time Taco joint. Great execution on Salsas. Best queso in town, PERIOD. The Jesse, The Deli Belly, and The Mexico City Sirloin are life altering experiences, and reason enough to go. This place also hires well and employs friendly and helpful staff. The ONLY criticism I have ever had is inconsistent portion sizes on the migas plate, but that hasn’t happened in a stretch. I treat my team to lunch here at the end of every month. Always a crowd pleaser!

I’m racking my brain to figure out if I’ve ever had a meal here before. I think I have confused it with Torchy’s which isn’t really my fave. So I’m going to assume that the first time I had Tacodeli was a couple months ago at a catered work meeting, and it was fantastic! This is really annoying since I lived right down the road from this place for years! Anyway, went to lunch with some colleagues here the other day and it was wonderful! The service was outstanding, fast, and friendly. We had a long lunch and didn’t feel the least bit rushed. I had the blue plate special with two Heather tacos, brown rice, and black beans. We also got an order of chips and guac. The guac is so yummy. It was spicy, tangy, and perfect! The tacos were fantastic! I’m from south Texas where tacos are done right. It’s really hard to find good tacos in central Texas, and although these are definitely not south Texas tacos, they are pretty good. I also get really overwhelmed when tacos have too many ingredients, but the Heather was a great balance of simple and interesting. The rice and beans were good. Nothing too spectacular, but cook very well. I’ll definitely come back for more! Sorry, I didn’t pull out my phone for pictures.

The fellow who won my heart in 1994 shows me he loves me in so many little ways… This morning, it was bringing home my favorite Sunday take out breakfast of the Migas Royale Plate with a little cup of the often imitated, never duplicated spicy, creamy, green Salsa Doña from Taco Deli. Tacos are an Austin staple, appropriate for a snack or meal any time of day or night. They can be dressed up or down, and they can be obtained in one form or another at probably 85% of the food serving establishments in this town. So it’s something to say that Taco Deli is up there in my top 3 favorite tacos(scallop tacos on corn — a dieter’s dream) and ties for número uno on best salsa of all time. Yeah, you have your young upstarts like the little fried devil with the pitchfork(and unbeatable queso), and you have your classic eastside Tex-Mex like Joe’s and Juan’s, but anyone giving a fair assessment must admit that Taco Deli(est. 1999) does what it does consistently well, with enough variety in the menu to please every picky palate. The place was founded by a guy from Mexico City and he and his team have done a fine job melding the Mex with the Tex, while keeping a hippie/foodie sensibility that makes one think, «Yep, this is Keepin’ Austin Weird!» What’s good? Oh, you mean something more specific than«everything»? Well, the sirloin steak tips with eggs are tender & tasty. The grilled veggie items are always delish. The refried black beans are surely spiked with some kind of illegal addictive substance. The poblano mashed potatoes have grown to become one of my favorite sides, although I’ll admit it took me a LONG time to accept this as a reasonable taco filling. All of the veggies are fresh-fresh-fresh, and all of the meats are of the highest quality. If you’re in for breakfast, the brewed Texas Coffee Traders coffee is very good. Every single daily lunch special is phenomenal and something worth waiting in the line around the block; see that menu here: TD has 5 locations in Austin and Gracy Farms is the one closest to me. I’d estimate that we eat breakfast from here at least twice per month, while my company orders lunchtime catering from here more often than that. They are open until 3pm, 7 days per week(Hallelujah, even Sundays), every day of the year except Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Ah, Tacodeli, the first taco place I had the pleasure of eating at in Austin. This is where I learned what migas are. Their Migas plate brings me to my happy place every time and is probably my favorite breakfast food ever. They also have a good selection of meatless tacos(at this point, more than any other taco joint I’ve seen) with fairly unique fillings. I particularly like the Space Cowboy and Papa Dulce. They also have a good vegan option! I like the size of the tacos; 2 tacos is enough to fill me up without making me feel like I’m going to tear a whole in my stomach. Add on a small order of chips & queso and I’m golden. The wait can be long of course, considering the line goes well out the door during peak hours. If you can, try to call ahead. It might take a few tries before you get a ring instead of a busy tone, but I find that it’s well worth it to avoid waiting in line and waiting for them to call your name and find you.

I’ve eaten here a few times, for breakfast lunch and catered work parties so i am a fan but to be honest it is not my first pick. One time Tourchy’s didn’t have queso so i had to come here(their queso isn’t the best) but if you do order it you should get the trio with guac, salsa in it! I do think the breakfast tacos are the best. which are available all day on the weekends but only till11 during the week. It is always a hit when work caters it but being a veterinarian i prefer the mushrooms instead of the sweet potato. Their guacamole is a bit spicy as well. There is usually a line so don’t let this discourage you it goes by quickly. there is cute outdoor seating as well as indoor they have dank fresh squeezed lemonade!

This review is for the lunch tacos. I have tried several tacos here, and I keep going back to the Cowboy taco. Juicy beef tenderloin with grilled corn and guac, squeeze of lime and the roja salsa. Every bite is simply delicious and satisfying. Just yum. $ 4 for one small taco is steep, but in this case, worth every penny! Others worth trying are the pork belly(Saturday special, not available everyday), shrimp has a great sauce, and the thurs special-matambre(grilled pork). To be fair, I’ve tried Torchy’s. They are bigger tacos but boy are they greasy. I didn’t want to swallow it. 5 stars alone for the cowboy taco. I could eat it everyday.

This is the unofficial cafeteria for tech workers around the Domain area. The Tex-Mex tacos are as good as it gets. Portion sizes are pretty decent. Make sure you try the daily specials. Mondays and Wednesdays are pretty much my favorite. The Belly, the hangar steak, and the Al Pastor. Come before 12PM weekdays or else you’re in for a good 15 – 20 min wait.

A line 30 people deep that spills out onto the street is a good sign, right? I went here on a recommendation by a local, and overall, I’d say it was worth the wait. Visited at 1045am on a Sunday and there were about 20 people in front of us but it got longer. After waiting 10 – 15 minutes to order, we got our breakfast tacos within 8 – 10 minutes. I got the Jess Special and the steak/egg/cheese. Both were very fresh and overflowing with the goods. Avocado on the Jess was perfectly ripe, and the steak was tasty and not too chewy as breakfast beef can be sometimes Two tacos is plenty for any meal given the size. The green salsa(award-winning, apparently) was a nice touch, so make sure to grab some at the counter. Inexpensive and delicious, so don’t let the line deter you and give it a taste!

Oh Tacodeli. Your Spyglass location is incredible, your Lamar and 42nd location is close to home and always reliable. Unfortunately, this specific Burnet location is lackluster compared to the others. My friends and I found ourselves up north one morning and decided to call-in an order so we could skip the line and fill our empty bellies. Placing an order here over the phone is an ORDEAL. After being placed on hold for 6 – 7 minutes, I was able to(kind of) place my taco order. My friends and I do this all the time with Tacodeli, and it’s always hassle free. Call, place in separate orders under one name and come and pay separately –it’s always been so simple! Not with this location. After trying to correctly spell my last name(who cares — just write what it sounds like, I will know what it means) and repeating my number back to me wrong(several times, once again I didn’t care it was wrong. I knew I was coming)…we FINALLY got to place orders. After repeating them back to us, a few were messed up and we corrected him. Okay.now we walk in to the location. I mention my name and say what I ordered. He then tells me there’s not that order under this name. Yes, there is. It was the first order I said on the phone. He fixed it, put in my order and snapped my card away from me to charge me. Worse Tacodeli experience ever. No other locations have this problem and calling in a to-go order takes less than a few minutes. Luckily, the tacos were delicious but the service was disappointing.

Yes yes yes. I’ve tried a lot of different tacos here. All-time favorite is the pork belly(Delibelly). Both times I’ve had it, the pork was divine! Large chunks, perfectly crisp on the outside and oh, so juicy. Second would have to be the Space Cowboy, the veggie version of their famous Cowboy. Portobello mushrooms are amazing in this! But really, you can’t go wrong with any taco here.

I really love Taco Deli but despite all the rave and even the fact that I love the place myself, I think it is a bit overrated and needs to pick up their pace when it comes to getting orders out a bit faster. The staff is always really cool and so friendly but I would have to take a star away from a perfect rating of 5 stars just because of the slow-paced service when it comes to the actually cooking part of it all. The best way to go is to call in your order and pick it up at their call-in counter or otherwise you will be in for the wait of your life for a few tacos. Call 10 – 15 minutes ahead and you can waltz in and out with your back of awesomeness in hand!

A local favorite that embodies Austin in many ways. Fresh farm-to-kitchen ingredients, local suppliers, unique combinations, and of course, gluten free. It’s what you think of Austin… in a taco form. This location gets pretty packed on weekends but their service is fast enough that it’s not a problem. And because it’s Austin, you WILL see yoga moms who bring their gym bags and yoga mats into the restaurant while they eat. The tacos here are not as «heavy» as some places, which can be good or bad depending on your perspective. I have a big appetite so I only come here if I’m looking for a lighter meal. 3 tacos are enough to keep me content for about 2 hrs max. 3 tacos from Torchy’s would last me longer for the same price. So yeah, you get the point. If you want fresh, you gotta pay. With that said, most of the options here are pretty solid. I’m personally a fan of all 3 of their seafood tacos and the local favorites like the Cowboy and the El Conquistadors are safe options as well. Their breakfast tacos are slightly boring. Don’t get me wrong, their freshly scrambled fluffy eggs are awesome. But still, the taco as a whole is boring. I wish their hours could be longer, so that I can come here for some healthy late-night snacks… but I get it, their ingredients would probably be considered«unfresh» by then.

I’ve never written a review for tacodeli despite coming here every weekend. That’s possibly because I’m either too busy drooling over /eating my tacos with such gusto. If you’re a vegetarian, you’ve come to the right place. There are 6 tacos to choose from after 11am, prior to which only the freakin vegan is available. My personal favorites are the papadulce(sweet potato) and the freakin vegan, although I don’t mind the portobello sometimes. If you’re ordering on corn, prepare to have a ripped taco while you’re eating it. That doesn’t happen a lot with the flour. Saturdays can get really crazy — upto a 20 minute wait for the food and at least a 10’minute wait in line. The Dona sauce is obviously the best. No contest. Remember to get your gold card and register it, 75 points gets u $ 5 on the card which essentially means — free taco! Tacodeli rules. Not Torchys. Tacodeli.

Yes — I’m a fan! Went here for lunch today and got a blue plate special with a mojo fish taco, conquistador taco, refried beans and rice. I preferred the fish taco to the pork(pork was a little crispy for my liking) but the ingredients were fresh and service was friendly. They are busy around lunchtime so expect a ten minute wait for your order. Next time I’ll probably call ahead. Be warned: they close at three so you can’t enjoy their delicious tacos for dinner — sad!
