Horrible service. We had come on a Tuesday evening and were really excited to check this place out. Unfortunately after waiting 15 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us, there were only 3 other groups btw, we ended up getting our own menus. One of the waiter was even telling the. Other waiter he was getting the other table when we clearly were waiting. A table that came after us got their appetizers before us and we got the same thing… onion rings were probably the highlight, pizza sauce was salty and the whole wheat crust had no flavor. Very disappointing.

my high expectations of good food and great service weren’t met during my first and last visit. marginal green pig pizza and pathetic nearly nonexistent service… Had to ask for napkins, silverware, and never asked us if we wanted more to drink

Worst service ever. I’ve been here twice. First time took almost two hours and the second time the server threw my leftover pizza away after I asked for a Togo box. I thought he was going to box it up for me. He told he thought it was done.

I live down the street and have had Mangia several times. My biggest complaint is that their sauce is so salty. And today, I couldn’t finish the lasagna because it was like eating a salt lick. Some people have complained in previous reviews about the food being bland… but salt DOESNOT equal flavorful. Or…the person who tastes the sauce has eaten to many hot peppers and their taste buds are blown. Now, excuse me, please. I need to go drink a hugs glass of water before I die of thirst.

So I visited this place for the first time tonight. Decent food but not fantastic service. My order was wrong, but it was so hard to get the servers attention that I just ate it anyways. The food was good and was a decent price. I would probably return at a less busy time. I appreciated being able to seat myself and take my time– didn’t feel rushed.

I had the margarita pizza, made deep dish style. Sauce, cheese, fresh tomatoes and fresh basil were yum, and the individual size is perfect for one, my only complaint is the crust had absolutely no flavor. Might give this place another try!

Quick lunch date with the hubs… We both ordered the lunch specials which is a pretty good deal. He had the Mangia Pizza with Salad and I had the Pepperoni with Salad. Hubs wasn’t thrilled with the Mangia(deep dish). I consider him the ultimate deep dish snob(he hails from Chicago! A BIG fan of Lou Malnati’s and Gino’s East. So I was very disappointed for him. We arrived after a VERY large party so I can understand why our food took soooooo long to hit our table. BUT please — really do we have to wait for salad? That should of been out immediately, esp. since some of the lettuce looked like it’s been out for awhile. Will need to go back a 2nd time to give them another chance. The food was good and minus the wait I think our waiter was on top of his game! Maybe next time I can upgrade them to a 5 star!

Husband and I were in the area and he said, some time we should try this place out. Of course, I said, lets do it now! If you order a water it comes with a lemon(on the side). I ordered a side Caesar salad while we waiting for our pizza. A side salad is quite large, but I will say their dressing isn’t anything special. The pizza however. stuffed with pepperoni, omg it was delicious! We ordered a small which is quite large considering its stuffed. I found it extremely tasty and worth the 20 minute wait that it takes for them to make it(if you eat there). We will certainly return in the future.

In search for some authentic deep dish pizza my son and I tried this place. It was amazing! Not only that it was affordable! I was able to get a delicious Greek side salad and watch my son devour a small deep dish pepperoni. Ok I had one piece don’t judge! Worth every single calorie! Definitely try this place!

I’m really disappointed the top layer of my Pizza is not fully cooked. I’m from the Windy City and this is not Pizza from the Chi. Better stick to Gino’s East downtown on 6th Street.

I just had the most unique experience at this place. I walked in at closing time, they had shut the kitchen down already. And out of nowhere everyone in the place was making sure that I ate tonight. A guy at the bar handed me his pizza. The people working there went back and made me a salad and some soup. It was amazing food. And on top of that the cookies were great. And to top this off they only charged me for the can of coke. I highly recommend this restaurant for the environment and friendly people there. Thanks for the southern hospitality Bill.

My wife and I visited Mangia Pizza on Sunday around 4PM. To our delight we were still in time for happy hour! First we ordered drinks(two beers and two waters), and a large Mangia Fries as an appetizer. I would only suggest getting the large if you have at least 3 people as we had to leave about half of them behind. The fries were great, came out hot and crispy. I wasn’t a huge fan of the sauce that came out with it but I’m not real adventurous with new sauces. My wife ordered the small Margarita thin crust pizza and I ordered the deep dish Mangia Mia. They said it might take around 25 minutes for my deep dish to finish cooking but it seemed quicker than that as they brought out or pizzas pretty quickly. Both of our pizzas were very fresh and tasty. We’ll definitely be coming back again as the food and service was good, and the prices are very reasonable.

I used a Groupon here. I believe this place used to be called The Pizza Bistro. My experience there was not as pleasant. I was under the assumption that I would be getting a Chicago stuffed crust pizza. However, the pizza I got was more like a pie. My crust was incredibly soggy, there was little to no sauce, and my order was cold. I also had the apple pie, and it was very dry. The quality of the food was not very great, and for that, I am afraid to try Mangia.

Before I mention the food, I must say that the staff here is extraordinarily awesome; they were so welcoming and accommodating. It’s nice to feel appreciated. Now to the food. I ordered a deep dish Mangia Mia, a Greek salad, and a slice of turtle cheesecake. The pizza was good, and its toppings were plentiful. The sauce was a bit on the tangy side, but it all meshed well. The salad was just okay, and the same goes for the cheesecake. I plan to return to try other options soon.

I love a good deep dish Chicago pizza and This pizza gets high marks! We ordered a deep dish pepperoni and we were not disappointed! I absolutely recommend ordering the deep dish pizza ahead of arriving. It takes time to cook and if you have hangry children this is your best bet. But, if you don’t order early you can always fill up on the best fries around! They are battered and have a tasty garlic dipping sauce. If you happen make it to happy hour the fries are a fabulous deal and if you don’t they are still worth getting. We will be visiting here again soon!

I had many Chicago pizzas from my days living in the Windy City(I still miss Gino’s East and Giordano’s on the Loop) and I have to say, Mangia came pretty close to the real thing. Nice work. I was a little worried at first, as my girlfriend and I came in for dinner on July 4th and there was only two other parties seated. Nothing to worry about as our waiter was very attentive and funny and kept us very happy without overwhelming us. We had the Mangia Mia minus the green peppers and we loved it. She has never had the real thing, but I made her a believer, I think. It may seem expensive for pizza, but trust me, you fill up fast! It’s actually a damn good value.

Super yummy pizza. DEEPDISHBIZHES! Don’t be fooled by the size these pizzas are extremely filling. We were in a two hour waiting line for TopGolf so we decided to find some food. Thank tha Lord this heaven was just around the corner. We ordered the veggie one(I do not remember the name of it) with sausage and pepperonni and a side of buffalo wings with ranchhh. Talk about yummmmmm. I was full off 3 wings and ONE slice of pie. I regret nothing. They also have a great selection of beers to choose from as well. Some on draft others in bottles/cans. The wait staff is attentive, respectful, nice, and helpful. Parking is a breeze, as it is located in a private parking lot right off Mopac. Would I return? Abso-friggin-lutely. Let’s call this a 3.5 for now. My experiences with the staff so far have been good and the food is fine. The first time I came here, I ordered pick-up: spinach and artichoke dip and an individual pesto pizza. The order was ready in the time they said it would be. The dip was pretty good — from what I remember, it had lots of artichoke chunks and wasn’t too runny. I am especially glad I ordered it because the individual pizza wouldn’t have been filling enough. I think otherwise the pizza tasted fine, though nothing particularly stood out about it. More recently, I sat outside and split a small stuffed spinach & mushroom pizza. I thought it was decent and filling enough for two, but too heavy on the pepper. The crusts on all their pizzas are crunchy, dry, and not oily, which works well enough for me. On another note, they give you seriously BIG cups for water. I don’t think any of us needed a refill. With lots of other pizza options out there, I’m not totally convinced that the price point is worth it here, but splitting a large with multiple people is probably more reasonable. And since it is close by and convenient for me, I’d probably come back to try other items.

With some Austin peeps who sang big praises about Mangias so we stopped in. We started with spinach artichoke dip served with chips. It was pretty yummy. They have a decent craft beer list with several local beers and domestics as well. A decent wine list too, all reasonably priced. We decided to try a malbec that was $ 16 for the bottle! It was a nice one for the price, smooth and fruity. For our pie, the gang wanted deep dish, which I’m not normally a big fan of, but when in Rome… I also ordered the house side salad with their special lemon vinegrette. It was a good size for $ 3, and the dressing was super yummy! The pie was meatball which had onions in it too. The meatballs were kind of spaced about, so some slices had very few. The crust was really what did it for me, it was light, not too thick and doughy like a lot of deep dish I’ve run across. I thought it was pretty good, my friends said they’d been in the past and had better. But as a first time guest I would return. I’d like to try their regular crust too! Service was good, our waitress was very kind and just the right amount of attention and timing!

Came here for the first time in several years for Valentine’s Day with my family. Mangia has had its ups and downs in Austin financially, but we were glad they’re back. One reason we don’t come too often is because it’s expensive for pizza, but I may have to revisit that notion honestly. We ordered a large stuffed crust and a small thin crust for my daughter, and it came out to about $ 35 without drinks. That’s honestly not too bad for 4 people, especially when one of the 4 is a ravenous teenager. Service was OK — the place was real crowded and we opted to sit outside in lieu of waiting for a table inside. I knew that the service wasn’t going to be as good out there with the restaurant packed; it wasn’t terrible either and I’ll cut them some slack since it was Saturday night and Valentine’s Day to boot. The only slight let-down was that the carnivore could have had more, well, carnivore flavor. The tomato sauce topping is pretty powerful, and it kind of hid the flavor of the meats in my opinion. Even with some of the sauce scraped off, it could have had more meat though. Still a very good pizza and we’ll probably come more often to get a Chicago-style pizza fix.

First time here with my family to see what Chicago pizza was like. We had a large half spinach and mushroom, half meat ball pizza. It tasted great! There was generous amounts of topping and it was more than enough for 4 people. If you love pizza crust like I do, you need to try the Chicago style. It’s stuffed with cheese, bread-like, and not greasy at all. The only thing I found kinda negative was there seemed to be too much tomato sauce. Not sure if this is a characteristic of Chicago style pizza. The Caesar salad was nice and fresh, except we noticed there was a bit too much dressing when we got down to the salad at the bottom of the plate. The waitress was very nice. The restroom is clean.
