Needed to post a review here since Stein Mart’s only averaging 2.5 stars at the time of this writing. I always get a chuckle reading Unilocal reviews by people who have posted fewer than 5 reviews… and all reviews are negative. Stein Mart does not deserve the negativity I’ve seen here. If you don’t understand how retail exchange policies work, then don’t shop retail. I can’t speak for the women’s clothing or home furnishings, but I can say they have the best selection of name brand men’s clothing at the most reasonable prices available. I’ve bought Nat Nast, Bobby Jones, Robert Graham and many other big name brands here and never paid more than about ¼ of the prices being charged for the same clothes at Nordstrom’s or Dillard’s. If you can catch them on a red dot sale or when they have good coupons in the AAS, you can really clean up. I love Stein Mart and will always shop there.

Hope you don’t get a gift from here without a receipt or the desire to give them your DL number. I wanted to exchange something. They asked for my DL number. I refused. They refused to allow me to return the item. I bought the items I ha already picked out and not like. y to return. Selection of jewelry ok. Plus sized clothes not too good. Bad service. What kind of company requests private information for unnecessary reasons? And then has no work around for a customer who refuses? REALLY?

Stein mart has the worst customer services and takes advantage of its elderly shoppers. Never will I spend a penny in a Stein Mart again!

I like this particular Steinmart location above the others in Austin because I’ve scored the most sales and goodies here. And, as a lovely large lady, I appreciate that their plus size section has a substantial(no pun intended) selection. No mustard-yellow tent shirts here! I love the thrill of the hunt and I get that thrill with each visit here. Sure, there’s some tacky nonsense here and there, but there are also hidden gems. For example, I found a gorgeous Silkland jacket a few weeks ago marked down to $ 27! YEEP! I’ve also gotten Spanx here at a fraction of the cost! The sales are fantastic. There are plenty of dressing rooms. The cashiers are generally very friendly and helpful. If you sign up for their shopper card, they’ll mail you coupons and inform you of special sales.

I love Stein Mart. This one is easy to get in and out of. It’s pretty much the same as all of the others.

I usually love going to steinmart to find good linens and towels, but this location has the worst management. My fiancée and I visited the Anderson Steinmart the other day and were met by a rude manager. The store was closing at 6PM we walked in the door at 5:25PM. The manager said and I quote«We’re closing you won’t have time to shop. Sorry.» I pointed to a sign stating the 6PM close time and she gave me a rude look and said«Fine I guess we’ll have to stay. We were not the only customers in the store and all we wanted was a specific sheet set. Anyways, we proceeded to look for the sheet set and found the one we needed. I DIDNOT buy it because I will never give Steinmart my business again. I rather pay more anywhere else to receive at least a grain of kind customer service. I don’t know the manager’s name but I hope you never run into her. FYI: We walked out of the store at 5:45 and other customers were still shopping. No one had to stay late for us. Rude manager. Bad staff. DON’T BUYFROMSTEINMARTIFYOUCAREABOUTGOODSERVICE.

I know Steinmart is like Kmart — lots of good deals but you’re not really compelled by it. This weekend we went and purchased a bunch of clothes for my mom and I discovered the compell factor: Lots of clothes that look great on her, variety and discount prices. Everyone was really great, the store was clean and the staff very helpful. Bonus is that they have business clothes that arent high waisted skirts(death) or overly shoulderpadded(double death).

Ya know, I pretty much always get road-rash being drug in here by my mom when we’re out on a Saturday afternoon after eating lunch and she’s all, «I just need to stop in here and get so and so a gift». I’m always all, «OHGODNOIDON’TWANNAGO!!!» But the weird thing is, I always find something amazing in here. It’s like a fun game. Find the mushroom on the colossal turd!(It really is there, y’all). Seriously, a cursory glance around the joint and you’ll be saying to yourself, «Oh dear lord get me the CRAP out of here before I gag myself with one of these horrid department-store-reject items!» The other way I find myself in here can also be blamed on my mom. Like, she bought me a dress in there the other day that was absolutely stunning. Stunningly repugnant. To make matters worse, it seemed that her attempt at finding a good deal had taken a very wrong turn. The damned thing had cost $ 60! Somehow, my mom had the good sense to give me the receipt so I could go play Where’s Waldo in the store, though… I’ll be damned if I didn’t come out of there with some seriously fly accessories and one badass pair of shoes. For realz: compliments every time I’ve worn any of that stuff. Note to self: Remember that time when you were 33 years old and your mom was still trying to shop for you? Yeah, that was some good times. Don’t forget to thank her for keeping the receipt! Lastly, I do sort of love being able to say, «Yeah, I got it at STEINMART, can you even believe that shit???»
