Star Nails

I wanted to stop in for a quick pedicure. Considering I was the only customer I thought «no problem.» I was wrong.
The guy doing my pedicure was very slow and thorough. BUT! When he was clipping my nails he SHOWED ME AN INGROWN NAIL HE JUST DUG OUT OF MY TOE! I’m scarred for life and thought it very unprofessional. Imagine if the proctologist did that if he found a «treasure» during an exam. He was so focused on finding things in my toes that I didn’t even get a polish. I told him I would pay full price… but to stop.
UGH.
I have to say that I won’t go back because I will be scarred for life.

I couldn’t decide whether to give 1 or 2 stars on this review, so I rounded up because they are nice people.
The good:
~The staff was really nice. We chatted, we laughed… The lady that did our eyebrows paid attention to what kind of shaping we each wanted, and executed all 3 waxes perfectly. My eyebrows have never looked so good!
~ They have a good selection of polishes — not just pinks & reds, either. They have a variety of greens, blues, & purples, which I really love!
~The manicures came out perfectly — not a smudge among the 3 of us. They make sure you’re dry before you leave. I know that sounds like common sense, but I have had other manis where they just want to get you out of the chair so they can fill it with someone else, so I really appreciated that detail here.
~They take it slow. If you are looking for a super fast in & out, this is probably not the place for you. But if you are like I am, and just like chilling for a bit, it’s all good :)
~Prices are reasonable.
The bad:
~Dude that did my nails was not well trained with the pointy clipper things. He was pulling the skin next to my nails instead of clipping it. That was not only painful, but I started bleeding in 3 places (just a little, but still…). I was pretty tense for that portion of the manicure.
~Cleanliness /​Health /​Sanitation
1) When we got our eyebrows waxed, there was a stick already in the wax. The lady used that same stick to apply my wax, my daughter’s wax, my friend’s wax, and the wax of the next 2 chicks that came in.
2) When the lady was cleaning up our brows, she used the same tweezers on all of us (and those other 2 chicks after us) without cleaning or soaking them in between people.
3) They re-​used the tools from our manicures on the next people without cleaning or soaking them.
I would totally LOVE to come back here because I finally found a super cool, reasonably priced place to be all girly… but due to the sanitation issues, I simply can’t. It’s not safe. That makes me sad panda :(

Ouch! The skin surrounding my big toenails is red, swollen and sore after my pedicure here. This was definitely not a gentle pedicure, as my cuticles were gouged out and ripped off rather painfully. Additionally the water used in my soak wasn’t even warm, and I had to wonder how well the bowl is cleaned out in between guests as well as how often the tools are cleaned. After my pedicurist scraped the dead skin off my heels, she dumped the shavings off the towel and into the bowl where my feet were returned. Upon my departure I was navigating in those temporary flip flops they give you around scattered yellowed toe nail clippings on the floor. I won’t be returning.

No sense of time, so kind if slow. HOWEVER, fabulous service, nice people and they do a very very nice job!!! The lady can look at your face and wax your eyebrows perfectly to make you look beautiful! Love this place!!!

I just moved here, so this is the closest nail salon I could find open on Sunday, and I really couldn’t ask for anything more in a nail salon.
I walked in and there was only one girl working, and she had just started a pedicure. She told me to pick a color and started a chair for me (I was just getting a pedicure). I’ve been in better massage chairs, and the place was kind of messy, but who cares, I was more concerned about my toes! I waited for a few minutes… and then a younger looking guy walked in from nowhere and immediately set to work. My knight in shining armor. He was very nice and did a GREAT job. I’m so happy it. And it was only $ 20. What more could you ask for.
