I’m surprised at the current 3-star rating because my experiences here have been nothing lower than a 4. I enjoy how fresh the food is as well as the ingredients, and my orders always come out in a timely manner. As far as selections go, Southpark Meadows is full of food chains but this place is a great alternative for burgers if you’re willing to splurge for something that is NOT Jack-in-the-Box or Whataburger. The only reason why I don’t give a full 5-star rating is because I think the service could be a little better. I can’t think of too many reasons why a person should wait behind the counter for more than five minutes to be attended to, especially when the venue itself doesn’t have any customers.

They can’t even get our simple order correct… The most frustrating thing is being sensitive to gluten, finding a burger place that has gf buns then getting home to find that your bun was not a gf bun that you paid the extra $ 1 for!!! Good thing I had some gf bread at home. When I ordered I made sure to say you got that on a gf bun correct? Then when they handed me the bag I said that’s a gf bun right? The guys said yup I saw him make it! I know I know, I should’ve checked before I left there! Ugh!

So I finally decided to try this place after seeing it so many times when I would drive to either Spec’s or Half Price Books which is in the same shopping center. Upon first arriving I was forced to waste a little over five minutes for someone to come to the register. It was actually the manager whom was outside on his phone clearly talking business so I wasn’t upset as he was very apologetic. I went with the chicken burger with fries. The cook brought out to me and was very courteous. Over all the service here is very courteous to be honest which is always good especially when you’re trying a new place. I wasn’t disappointed at all with my food but I also wasn’t blown away which puts me feelings towards this place as neutral. That’s not a bad thing because it makes me want to try something else next time which there will be a next time. This place is very family friendly too by the way as while I ate three sets of family’s came I and were enjoying them selves around so not bad food. Price range is about what you would expect from a chain that I wouldn’t exactly call fast food as I felt my food was actually cooked. All in all this is a decent place too eat with great service. South Park Meadows in general has lots of choices that allow a place like this to become one of them from time to time. I’d like to think a guy like Bruce Banner would like it here. HULKSMASH!

I have been to other smash burgers before and it was awesome but this time it was disappointing. The burgers were dry and just not worth the amount of money. The smash fries and shake were good. We discussed this with the manager over the phone and he was awesome and refunded our money and invited us back for a free meal. Customer service was amazing and totally saved them from getting dropped from my list.

I took my kids here for lunch yesterday. They were having some sort of issue with the fries as they were out of regular ones. They did have the sweet potato fries instead. The food is pretty good. Burger had great Browning and flavor and fries were solid. Price was reasonable at 5.99 for the burger and 2.50(ish) for fries. Food took about 8 minutes to come out. I’d stop by again sometime.

Good old fashioned burgers. Smash fries are a great choice. Enjoy a quick lunch and you will be happy!

The girl behind the counter was sweet, she needs to find her self a new job. This place sucked. I would only go back if my food was free, otherwise you won’t catch me in there again. I ordered a burger that already comes with cheese, I added EXTRA cheese… When it comes to my table… No cheese. Really though… How does that even happen? All the images on the menu above the counter show burgers with vegetables, lettuce, tomato, but no one tells you it doesn’t come with it… So not only do I have to get up to ask for cheese but I also have to ask for veggies. Then, some loud mouth guest comes in by himself and won’t shut up, making my experience even worse. Got some to go boxes and left before the first bite… I get home and bite my burger and the meat taste like straight propane… Disgusting. I paid $ 15 for a meal I had to leave to enjoy then couldn’t even do that…

Trevor who is the shift leader was absolutely ridiculously rude. Was ordering a create your own burger. He kept cutting me off and I asked him if we could go in order that the menu had meaning bun sauces cheese then premium extras. He then was very rude and gave a big sigh. Now if I’m not mistaken that is how smashburger by a business standpoint wants things done and a customer standpoint. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he is the manager and that he knows he was rude to me and that he’s sorry. He did admit his rudeness but never fixed it. He was then rude to another customer while I was there and they walked out on him. Now if he didn’t think he was rude he would have stated that he’s sorry I felt that way but he told me he was being rude. Trevor if you don’t like your job then leave just go for it. I’m sure there are other companies that will deal with your rudeness!

Good tasting burgers. Choice of regular or large size burger. Ordered a large bacon cheeseburger, fries and drink. Cost was $ 12.20 ! Ouch ! They do not put tomato or lettuce on the bacon cheeseburger !

I’m writing this as a vegetarian trying the veggie burger: YUCK! It was was smooshie and barely stayed on the bun. I came here based on a friend that really wanted to try it and I cannot say I would ever come back as this burger is their only option for vegetarians. The fries weren’t bad but that’s all I can suggest to you!

Been here a time or two, but this recent visit left a lot to be desired. We ordered, then tried to find a clean table, ended up having to clean it ourselves. Ridiculous! We watched two more patrons clean off their table as well. The place was steady, but not so busy that no one was able to clean any tables.

The cashier was extreamly nice Anthony I think his name was. The burger was not bad but I could easily have been better. The cook left it cooking on one side to long and let the meat burn a bit and tried to hide it with the cheese so it was kinda chewy, also i am sure he forgot to season it and it was really greasy. The fried pickles were not bad but ranch was not offered with them I did have to ask. Had I based this just in the food I would have given it one or two stars but that cashier made the place feel inviting so three stars it is.

Really good burgers here. They’re juicy and the toppings are fresh and delicious. I like the seasoning on the fries also. Bonus points on the gluten free bun for my wife. Also, customer service here has been outstanding the 4 or 5 times we’ve visited.

We really wanted to try this place. We saw online it was open until 10 and stopped by on our way home. Pulled up at 9:02, the lady cleaning saw our lights and walked to the back — turned off the open sign and then walked back to sweeping. Door reads open until 10:00. If they don’t want my business then I won’t waste my time. Too bad.

Great service. Loved the sides.(both the«Smash fries» with olive oil, garlic and rosemary as well as the haystack onions.) Phenomenal combinations as well as «make your own.» A pet peeve of mine was met with good iced tea and fresh cut lemons. If Smashburger could improve one thing, I think the burger could be a bit more well done.

Out on a Sunday and for lunch we ate at Smashburger which is a franchise chain. Located at Southpark Meadows which now is a big box farm it is nested at the end. Walking up I notice they have an ATM machine in front and walk in where you get in line to place an order. Mostly burgers on the menu but they also have chicken and salad. After I order my bacon cheeseburger I am given a number and find a place to sit either inside or outside where they have a covered patio. They also accept credit cards and serve a small variety of beers. As I look around this place is clean and not too loud. Soon our food arrives and quickly try the fries. They tasted good and like they were cooked in olive oil. The bun seems to have butter in it and the burger tasted very good. All the fries are ordered separately and also serve sweet potato ones too. Overall this place is nice but can get a bit pricey for a family of four.

Smashburger, you’re the Subway of burger places. You have a handful of designed sandwiches to choose from(The BBQ Bacon, The Spicy Baja, The Avocado Club, etc.). Or I can build my own with your pretty broad list of ingredients, including three different buns(or ‘lettuce wrap’), and your many«free» toppings which range from mustard to carmelized onions. So, your thing is smashing your patties into submission during the«searing» process. Maybe thats why mine was a little overdone and dry. The BBQ sauce helped some, but not enough. My vanilla shake was also nothing to write home about. Which for $ 3.99… Maybe I just like Blue Bell more than Häagen-Dazs. But your mortal sin was the«haystack» onion strings. They were the size/shape, that I like, and the breading wasn’t too heavy. But the amount of salt on them was unbearable. If you know me or have seen my pic, you see I’m not one to leave behind anything that is fried. But yeah, some of those bad boys made it to the trash. Maybe the cook coughed when applying the salt, and too much fell onto those poor strings… I’m a little lost on you, Smashburger. Your pricing doesn’t match the experience, oh, Carl’s Jr. with Hopdoddy-esque aspirations. You’re far from the house, so I’d never go to you often. But, you’re by the mom-in-law, so I’ll give you another chance some day on the way home when I don’t like the Sunday meatloaf. For now, I’ll let you work the kinks out on other customers. I’ll be too busy apologizing to the wife for that Sunday meatloaf comment…

I have to knock them back a couple stars for this visit. First of all, inconsistency. The burger I had here on Sunday was not the same burger I had a few days ago. It was totally bland, no seasoning or taste at all. Second, the Smashfries are way over spiced! I was tasting rosemary for hours after eating them. Thirdly, the tea had that sour, rancid taste that comes from being old. I hope you work out your bugs! The first time I was here you were pretty good, but it’s obvious that’s not always the case.

*A great conversation with my buddy Adrian just prompted this disclaimer: Consider my burger ratings as being within their respective arenas. If I rate fast food burgers, Whataburger gets the five comparatively. Smashburger I’m rating in the arena of Mighty Fine and Five Guys, etc. If I’m rating Perry’s, I’ll compare to Sullivan’s. So ratings are based on the level of the market. Carry on.* This is a damn good burger. And that’s a damn good chicken club. And this is a damn good restaurant. You know you have a well known obsession when you start getting texts and PM’s from fellow Unilocalers to test out a cheeseburger joint that’s just opened up so that they can get your take on it. After my third nudge in this direction, I actually arranged my precious date night to begin at Smashburger yesterday. I’m classy like that. Off the bat: they’re new, people — Give ‘em time to grow and settle. The inside is crisp and clean and plain so far — the personality will come with age. And this is a counter service restaurant, not full table service, so this is casual, simple, clean cut and straightforward. Think Mighty Fine or Five Guys style. Walk in, grab a menu on the wall if you can’t see the board above the counter, order there, they’ll hand you your beverage(they have local craft beer selection, too) and take a seat wherever you want, your food will be delivered. And it comes out promptly. If you’re interested in what«smash» is all about — it’s their cooking technique which you can observe on the screen above the counter. They literally portion out the meat, smash it under a press for 10 seconds, flip once and cook to the perfect temperature. What you get is consistent, dependable flavor and texture. It’s a good method as far as I’m concerned. They use 100% Certified Angus beef that is simply seasoned and just well done. I had the Classic Smash My gooey melty cheese was perfect(I posted a picture of that sucker — tell me you don’t drool when you look at it. Wipe the drool away from your mouth and then tell me you didn’t drool.) It’s served on a butter bun with fresh cut veg. Here are some things they do really right with their burger: Meat — well cooked and seasoned simply, perfectly Bun — nice flavor that stands on its own Tomato — ripe Lettuce– Green leaf lettuce, whole leaves, very fresh Red Onion — First of all, onion on burgers should be red onion, IMO. They slice these perfectly thin so the flavor is subtle, the sweetness shines through. Muah. Pickle — Gotta have pickle. Just as I praise them for thin onion, I praise them for thick pickle slices. Signature Sauce — Although I’m pretty sure it’s just mustard mixed with mayo, every good burger joint needs a signature sauce to set them apart, and this is a good starting point. Ain’t bad, either. Here’s what is right about their Avocado Club: Ermafriggin’gerd Everything. That chicken is marinated to beyond tender, perfectly seared and juicy, but still a thick, whole chicken breast. On the butter bun with ripe avocado, bacon, lettuce, tomato. They make these flavors sing. I had one bite, ONE, because that’s all he would share with me but I swear I’m considering cheating on cheeseburgers next time I’m there. Here’s where they’re shy of 5 stars: These puppies fall apart. The butter bun is very tender, it wants a little more substance to be able to hold all these amazing fillings together. The club specifically dismembered itself pretty quickly. While this has NOTHING to do with the food and quality you’re getting here, and they’re extremely new, I’ll really be happy to see some character added to these walls. It does feel a little too much like a cafeteria right now, all clean and crisp and red and white. It’ll just make the experience warmer when they really settle into their shoes. It’ll happen in time. And that patio’s got some great potential. Their fries — I had regular fries which are what I could get at McD’s — which is fine. I like some McD fries every now and then. I hear their signature fries which are tossed with herbs are much better and sweet potato fries are always the way to go, so I suggest opting for them or another side, instead. Everything a la carte: I have no problem with this, but it can be off putting to customers, especially those eating alone. The sizes are actually the perfect splitting portion for two which makes it cost effective for a duo. So, there’s my first time assessment. As it stands, I give an enthusiastic thumbs up to the flavors and quality you’ve got goin’ here, Smashburger and I can say that any time I’m on my way to the Cinemark, I’ll stop here first. And maybe after.
