Sherwin-Williams Commercial Paint Store

Wow, why didn’t I know about the Sherwin Williams store before. we have an account with them and Kaitlen, out of the blue called and said we did. I called today to get paint ordered for a commercial job and they even delivered (WOW). I’ve spent thousands at Home Depot for Sherwin Williams paint, out of convenience and now i find out going direct is the BEST WAY TO DO BUSINESS with them. The staff was SUPER nice when i called in today (can’t remember the guys name but called at 11:30am today ²⁄₇) and then the guy delivering was so nice and accommodating, can’t say enough good things. THANK YOU Sherwin Williams. Can’t say I’ve spoken to the salesperson they said I have yet but who cares I’m happy with them, don’t’ really need a salesperson — I’m sold!

I am no pro painter, just a homeowner so I can’t speak to lots of equipment. I generally hire a painting contractor but sometimes I go there to buy the paint they need for my brightly painted Victorian. This store’s staff has ALWAYS been so helpful and calm, no matter my confusion, I just have to remark on it! The service here is excellent. The paint has been good. That’s all I have to say.

Guy behind counter just grunted at us when we asked him about a couple specific colors & practically threw a couple charts of color at me when I couldn’t find anything on the wall.
Won’t be back to this location. Won’t write off SW because of him, but there are other stores.
Went to the one on North side of town & had a TOTALLY different experience. I’ve found my S-​W paint store.

These guys are very helpful and what’s more they actually know something about paint. In addition, they also want to help you out and seem to actually care that you get what you want. Unlike HD, which has more knuckleheads than paint.
I’ve been in multiple times where they will stain a sample for me, sometimes giving me 3 – 4 different options. You can’t even get a stain sample at Depot. You have to buy each pint and test it out.
The selection of accessories here is also VERY good, however sometimes the prices will sneak up and bit ya. My favorite thing is that you don’t have to wade through 15 minutes of light bulbs and garden shoppers. Finally, they keep your purchases on file if you start an account so you will know what color is in that back bedroom.
All and all, a better paint buying experience.

Nice guys. Good service. What’s not to like?

Painting our condo for the first time and we know very little about painting. We went into the store 10 minutes before closing and the manager gave us an entire run-​down of all the paint types, how to paint, and let us take home a big file of color strips. They held the store open late for us! And the manager remembered us when we came back the next day: «How’s the new condo coming?»
Very helpful staff, wide range of color selection, free coffee. The prices seemed comparable to Home Depot to me.

This store has great service and I have found the «guys behind the counter» to be very knowledgeable about paint and stain products.
Last week, I was doing some in-​store research for a project and we needed a very rich, dark wood stain for an exterior application. However, I do not want my client to have to restain every couple of years. Peter is the stain guy and he helped me to narrow it down to 5 or 6 choices that have the most pigment in them so they will hold their color the longest. He also dissuaded us from using a clear-​seal as this specific product seals itself on the second coat, so a clear seal would be a waste of money.
Next, he introduced me to a fairly new product that I have never heard of… applied before the stain, it acts as a primer and allows the wood to accept the stain in a deeper, more even and uniform fashion. It also extends the life of the stain so that less maintenance will be necessary. Very helpful, saved my client money, saved me time… this is why I have been shopping at this store for over 10 years.
EDIT: ⁴⁄₀₂ While I do really like this store, I am not a big fan of Peter as the «stain expert» as the product that he suggested did not work as he said it would. My client returned several times and he even went to look at the project to see what may have been amiss, but was not able to come to any helpful conclusions. I still stand by this store as great service (going to a project to survey the stain damage is pretty awesome) but I would have been happier had he offered some discount or future discount as his suggested product did NOT do the job and actually slowed construction down a tad.
