LOVE this place! The service & food are ALWAYS excellent! Perfect place for a quick lunch or early dinner.

We ordered an assortment of box lunch sandwiches for a store event and they were delicious, fresh and everyone loved them. Wonderful service and fabulous food.

I’ve enjoyed lunch here for several years, however last time our sandwiches were 90% bread with minute ingredients. Otherwise, it’s a friendly place with a variety of foods. It’s clean and has outside seating.

This is a great local coffee shop/bakery. It is quiet and a great alternative to Starbucks which is right across the shopping center. It does offer free Wi-Fi name the pastries/cookies/soups/sandwiches are all excellent. If you have not given them a try you should.

The bread here is incredibly good! This café serves simple food but does it extremely well. The French onion soup is pretty tasty! Do yourself a favor and try the sourdough bread. You can thank me later.

I had a good sandwich and French onion soup but I would not say that it was great. Its not a place to eat if you are looking for low calorie healthy meals. The croissants and other pastries looked good but I didn’t try them. The coffee was not fresh which was a little surprising because it was only 11:30 am. This place is kinda like a movie that you want to see but really can just wait until the DVD is made. I would recommend going but only if you’re in the neighborhood. Not that impressed and feel a little bit mislead from the other Unilocal reviews.

San Fransisco Bakery is a very good spot for lunch. Its a place where the meals aren’t too heavy, & the choices on the menu seem healthy(for the most part) I have never been to a place that served better sandwiches. I am currently in love with the California BLT, with that you have a choice of chips or veggie sticks. The carrots are always so sweet, & good. I always want more when I’m all done. From the sandwiches to the salad, everything on the menu seems so delicious. I am not a sweets person at all but when it comes down to the snicker doodle cookies, that is the ONLY exception. Every time I come, I cannot leave empty handed. I need a cookie for the ride home. The location is a bit hidden, but I’m glad I discovered this place. They are open business hours which is a bummer because I sometimes crave their food for dinner. This place has won me over completely and I will definitely be back for more.

Great soup, good bread bowl, okay sandwiches, great bottomless coffee. I found the menu hard to read and didn’t really know how much I’d be paying when I ordered, their menu needs a bit of a facelift. I ended up paying about $ 17 for coffee, soup, and sandwich. Next time I’ll skip the sand which. It was fresh tasting, but not memorable. Would probably hit the spot if you like simple fresh food though.

Love this tasty neighborhood spot! I go at least 1 – 2 times per week for a cappuccino/pastry or a delicious Santa Clara sandwich on homemade wheat bread. The space would use some updating, but the food and friendly staff and owner make up for it.

I tried the chocolate croissant and the apricot & cream cheese danish. No offer to warm up the breads – okay, maybe need to ask next time. The croissant was a disappointment. There were tons of crunch, but the flakeri-/butteriness were lacking. If I said even Starbucks chocolate croissant beats it, you know, uhm.

The food is great but a little pricey. I end up spending $ 12ish before tip for a soup and sandwich(that was for the soup/sandwich combo special price). The bread is great, ingredients seem very fresh. I LOVE the soups. French onion and cream of asparagus are both delicious. It’s a very small place that has always been full when I’ve visited for lunch. I order to go and it doesn’t take too long. I would go much more often if it wasn’t quite so pricey.

My wife and I eat here nearly every week and have done so for the last 2 years. The food is excellent, they have sandwiches, pastries and beverages like local coffee and tea. The only thing that keeps me from coming more often is the service. You’ll be waiting in line and they will take phone orders and refill beverages(mean while you’ve been waiting for ten minutes just to order). If you have only an hour for lunch you might be hard pressed to make it back in time depending on the day and who’s working.

Simple, cozy family owned bakery. We were too late to catch the croissants… Obviously that good. I had the turkey club on sourdough with a Cesar. The sub was perfectly stuffed with juicy boars head Turkey breast, crispy bacon, carrots, sprouts and provolone cheese. The Salad was fresh with deep green, romaine lettuce and lightly coated with Cesar and balsamic dressing. Tasty! I’ll definitely be back and look forward to trying the breakfast menu especially those darn croissants!

I’ve been going here since I was a kid, and it’s one of my top places to eat in Austin(definite favorite lunch spot). I get the avocado fresh veg on a croissant with a side of french onion soup… Fantastic! Amazing place, good healthy food, great service, and good price.

The cream of broccoli soup warmed my soul. I also got the Santa Clara sandwich with Dijon mustard– the barista recommended it to me. I asked for it to go and waited about 5 minutes for it to be ready. Very nice place to duck in and grab lunch! I had the leftovers the very next day and it was just as good. Cost was about $ 12 for a sandwich and a cup of soup. Not bad!

We’ve only tried their soups for lunch… but we’ve been there 3 times for that already! Excellent apricot danish– I had to resist the chocolate chip and cream cheese one on display today. Cozy but open atmosphere, and friendly staff. Great lunch spot. We will need to come back and try their breakfast!

We drove from Unilocal suggestion to Unilocal suggestion. After traipsing around town for what seemed most of the morning we gave up and went to the next coffee house we came across. This maneuver turned out better than using Unilocal. We each ordered a breakfast sandwich and it was a good size and great value. Hubby also had a cheese Danish which he enjoyed. I had a cinnamon roll which I especially liked because it wasn’t covered in icing. For two sandwiches, two pastries and two hot beverages we spent $ 20 including tip.

One of my neighborhood places to go for both my decadent bakery sweet-tooth as well as a very nice place to meet and greet clients or family for a nice soup and sandwich lunch. Last time in for lunch I had a nice Italian Ham & Genoa Salami sandwich served on a baguette which had all of the name ingredients with a nice mix of lettuce, tomato, Italian dressing & provolone. Really good half sandwich which I paired with a nice cup of New England Clam Chowder … good stuff! Many other very tasty items on the lunch menu I’ve tried and don’t forget the name of the place … it’s a BAKERY, so don’t leave without grabbing a nice pastry for later, everything I’ve tried has been good!

First of all it’s hard to leave this review because the cashier was sooooo nice. I ordered a BLT on sourdough that was good but overpriced. The stack was high but half was all bread, bacon was from this morning, regular iceberg lettuce a slice of tomato and cheese. Nothing special or special enough to return.

Great food and great atmosphere. Even though I went at a busy lunch time, it seemed like a pretty chill place to eat. The place had nice employees, and they were helpful for my first time there. Would definitely go again!

Came here looking for a nice bowl of soup on a rainy day and was pleasantly surprised with a great breadbowl of clam chowder! Would highly recommend. Their menu is larger than I expected given the size of the place, but I’ll definitely be going back to try some of their sandwiches and more of their pastries. The chocolate croissant was awesome. Also, the staff was super friendly. Made a cold, rainy lunch very enjoyable.

You walk in to this sparely decorated place and order at the counter, which takes a while no matter how short or long the line ahead of you because the menu is so full of interesting sandwiches, salads, soups and omelets. And while you wait, with an ear on the pleasant ambient music, there are those cookies and pastries in the display in front of you — unless you’re heartless or gluten-free, you probably won’t be able to resist adding one or more at the end of your order. Then you spot the little whiteboard on the counter that lists the day’s special food, coffee and tea, and there goes your original order plan altogether. Just get the Napa Salad and a glass of Republic of Tea. And, of course, don’t forget the cookie.

I liked the small home-y atmosphere, very chill and casual. The food was great, I had a chicken breast sandwich on Rosemary focaccia bread and a cup of New England Clam chowder. The only thing I didn’t like was that I had to get up to grab my silverware and napkins, none at the table and they couldn’t bring me any with my food. Just found it odd but over all I enjoyed this little café and plan to return :)

What a surprise little gem right by my apartment! I was really craving a Tuna Salad Sandwich and did not want to drive all the way into Austin to get one considering I live up north. I remembered I saw a bread shop and was hoping they sold food as well — to my luck they did!!! & I was pleasantly surprised with the food! The tuna salad was delicious, nice and crunchy with celery while not too mayo-y. I hate too much mayo. The bread is amazing. I got the wheat instead of the recommended bread and was happy with my choice. The bread was nice and soft with a good firm crust. I’m drooling thinking about it right now! There was a nice gentlemen behind the counter who thanked me by name when I left with my food. That’s customer service at it’s finest. Needless to say, I returned a few days later. It seems I arrived right after the rush as the drink station was a disaster and lacking the usual stuff(lemons for tea, coffee was out but brewing, etc) and the tables had not been cleaned up yet. The customer service was not as good that day. But that’s okay. I will return. Oh, and their house vinaigrette dressing is amazing!!! It’s a very refreshing sandwich experience compared to the massive hot mounds of meat sandwichs.

Being born and raised in San Francisco this place had me pleasantly surprised. The sourdough bread was fresh and tasted authentic to San Fran. The french onion soup was piping hot and very tasty. The portion sizes aren’t huge but my BLT was satisfying and all the ingredients very fresh. The people working here are all very friendly and the place is clean and quaint, food comes out quickly. Only drawback is their menu is hard to read. Everything is written in chalk in tiny font. Also I think I got overcharged and they don’t give you a receipt unless you ask. $ 7.79 for a BLT, add $ 1 for a side soup, no drink or chips, total was $ 12.65? Didn’t catch it until after I ordered and paid but still had me scratching my head afterwards, kind of left a bad taste in my mouth too.

I split the half soup/half salad combo with a friend as we weren’t completely hungry. French onion soup and caesar salad. Oh my, the soup was delicious and I am usually not a fan of onion soup. The salad was average, good but like most caesar salads I eat.

I love this place. Great blackberry tea and soups and sandwiches here. They are very helpful and accomadating and love the fact that they recommend good soups and sandwiches here. Next tome might get brocolli or new englAnd clam chowder. the french onion had lots of cheeses and choc chip cookie and heathbar cookies are delicious .you have the bite of the chic chip and feel that you are in melts in your mouth. The sandwich was good but not my favorite thing here.

I love this place. After 3PM, everything is buy one get one free! Also, lunchtime is great here. I got the veggie sandwich which had the grilled eggplant and it was amazing. It comes on this focaccia roll and it’s tasty. I will say their sourdough is sadly lacking… the slices for that are about the size of your palm. I don’t know why this is or why they can’t have bread that’s larger than your palm. So long story short, do not order sourdough. It’s probably good but you are not getting your money’s worth. They also have coffee and pastries here. None of these products are baked in house. I have the suspicion that they are baked elsewhere and brought in. I love their danishes and sometimes, you can pick up their next day breads for a lower price and they are just as good. They make this cherry and dark chocolate croissant. It’s pretty tasty. They are known for their french onion soup and I’ve got to try their quiche sometime. I’m just too busy eating that grilled veggie sandwich!
