Salsaritas has a number of great things going for it, like late hours on the weekends. Fresh food, quality ingredients, clean environment and a good staff. It does kind of suck that they aren’t open till 3 on Thursday like they are on Friday and Saturday. So the food… it’s not supposed to be gourmet, it’s just supposed to be fresh, good and quick and that is exactly what it is. The meats are well seasoned, cooked well and go great on the kick butt nachos, in some great tacos or a thick and meaty burrito. The seasoned sour cream is awesome and I think I might actually be addicted to it. It reminds me of Taco Del Mar back in Seattle, which I miss terribly for me late night cravings. The tortillas are good, the veggies are fresh, the queso is awesome(I mean it’s not Mag Mud, but it’s good). Overall the food here is way better than Chipotle or Freebirds and can almost keep up with Baja Fresh. Check it out, it’s a great place to sit down, order some warm food and kill some time while avoiding the drunks on Sixth Street. Oh and Jennifer is right, Chicken Nachos are the BEST! I get them every Friday night while waiting to close out the bar.

I was staying in the downtown Hilton hotel and was craving for some burritos. Since this was a couple of blocks away from the hotel, I went there and ordered a chicken burrito. They make burritos over the counter in a «cafeteria line» fashion and you get to choose the ingredients in the burrito — type of beans(black or refried) — rice — guacamole — sour cream — 6 type of salsa — 2 different type of cheese My chicken burrito was not good. I picked black bean, rice, guacamole and pico. Perhaps it was because I went there past 9pm on a week night, the rice was kinda hard and stale. The pico was soggy. The burrito didn’t have much taste to it. Furthermore, I had to pay extra for the chips. One good thing was that they gave me a large amount of chips and the chips were actually warm. They do open until 3am, but only on Thurs — Sat. If you are hungry and want food after partying on 6th street, go get a hot dog from the Best Wurst cart on 6th street instead.

This location is relatively new as far as I can tell. I stumbled upon it one day when I was exploring historical 6th Street. I was looking for something cheap and quick and that’s basically what it is. I could be a bit cheaper but you get a lot for your money so I won’t complain. I always get the chicken nachos when I go there and they are delicious! You can get whatever you want on them and it always results in a huge mound of chips in front of you. Great to share with someone when you get a late night craving or desire an in-between meal snack. They’re open until 3am so if you’re down on 6th Street and you get the beer munchies definitely check it out!
