Have been going to the Round Rock location for years with the same co-workers. We all have noticed, recently, that the place is falling apart. There have been occasions whereby we arrive around 11:30, and are told the cook has not yet arrived. Typically you only see a cook and one person working the tables. Our last visit pretty much sealed the deal… all tables were dirty, under the tables were nasty… no condiments on any of the tables(no salt, pepper, Siracha, nothing). The menus had not been cleaned… the walls are dirty. Bottom line, I believe this place would be hard pressed to actually pass an inspection. What a shame… this place used to be spectacular :-(

I like this place everything I have tried is fresh and well garnished and is budget friendly… my two cons are: menu is a bit overwhelming and the way you order is a bit strange to order you take the menu with you if you don’t know what to order then when you are ready you walk to the register and proceed to order other than that is great.

Have to say this place is clean, great and cheap like others have said. Menu is a little overwhelming if you’ve never been here before as there are MANY many dishes available. I personally havn’t had a bad dish yet and i try to get something different every other time i go. Excellent for date/movie night. Highly recommend !

I went with office colleagues along with the team mates that came from South America. Ordered dishes based upon taste preferences. The fifth order came first. The second placed order came 20 min late. The food was cold and seems like it was sitting at the service junction for a while with no one bothered to bring to the table. It was sent back to get reheated which only came back after 10 min. That’s not all, first order was Vietnamese Noodles with no spice. After 40 minutes, when most of the other teammates got their food with atleast half of the food already eaten, we complained about the first order. We were told that the noodles are out and it can be replaced with egg noodles. No issues, please bring it quick. What came out was a spicy dish with no noodles but rice. We were told that the lady inside cooking made the dish with rice and not with noodles. Such a disappointment and frustration. After all this, the service person did not bother to say sorry or apologize. I am never going back to this place again.

I first notice Rosie’s driving south towards San Marcos, and I was super excited! Finding any Chinese food Oltorf that is at least DECENT is a rarity. Sure, that’s a general statement but I literally mean South of Oltorf — in other words, south towards San Antonio all the way down to the Rio Grande! So again, I was super excited to see a new place ready to pop up. When I finally got to check the place out, I ended up fairly disappointed. The service was suboptimal – one of the waitresses was standing around and crying. Sure, I’m not going to be the one to judge her situation, but it somewhat makes a customer’s experience less comfortable. I honestly felt sorry for her… I then proceeded to feel sorry for myself for not having a wait staff… We ordered both crispy noodles and flat noodles. Neither of the dishes were very appetizing, even though they SOUNDED incredibly delicious. If there is one thing Rosie’s is good at, it’s naming their dishes, because I kid not… everything sounds phenomenal! It’s too bad they were very heavy handed on the salt. I swear I drank about a gallon of water after my experience there… Lastly, the southbound commute to Rosie’s is totally painful. It really isn’t a great location at all for a business. You literally have to pass and turnaround twice in order to pull into their parking lot, which doesn’t have an entrance right off of the feeder. Pretty unfortunate, because being on the East-bound side of the highway adds 1 – 2 additional miles to the trek. Sad to say, that makes my return trip even less likely.

Rosies is now MiMi’s . It is to my understanding one of the brothers took over and changed the name… Either way this place is clean, delicious, and cheap. The hostes/order taker is not very friendly, but all she is supposed to do is take the order anyways. I appreciate the self serve drinks, and topping. If I want 10 jalepenos I can have 10, if I want two little bowls of sweet sauce, I can have that too. Their menu has a great selection of Korian, Vietnamese, and Thai options. A l My favorite the vermecelli bowls, and the spring rolls. Parking lot is a plus!

Wow three reviews of the same place. Geez. They told me that one of the brothers of the owner now controls/runs this place. Last two times was so bad. I just can’t go there any longer because they have horrible food cooked by different people. All the waiters/people there are 5 years old and handly customer service as such. HUGE disappointment.

I use to absolutely love this place! Everything I ever tried was good especially the chicken noodle phở. I would eat there a least once a week until like the middle June when I started notice new people and different cooks. I started to think maybe the cooks are just on vacation since the same 2 cooks were always there. Nope looks like there gone as well as the other menus they use to have. I’m very disappointed with the food now it does not taste the same and probably won’t be going back. I did give them a chance though. I tried all my favorite dishes but they just couldn’t get it right. Luckily I found a new place off E. Oltorf Hai ky which was very good although it is a further drive for me now to get my phở fix. I will miss the old Rosies cooks and the convenience of there location.

Did not like it at all. I have been wanting to go to this place for a while but it is kind of in a weird area. You have to order at a counter and pay before you get your food. It’s self serve drinks. The guy at the counter did not know if the egg rolls on the menu were Vietnamese or Chinese. We ordered the calamari to start and it was very chewy. I ordered Phở and the mystery egg rolls. The Phở tasted like barbecue, not at all what i wanted or expected. The egg rolls were only okay but good enough. Overall the place has a weird feel. I don’t recommend it.

Got the Thai steak salad, think it’s tom nuer, meat(Korean style) was like sandal rubber, only dryer; no wonder it took 20 minutes to get it. Who cares about the taste at that point? Nah me. Clueless, prozac acting hispanic kid working there just said«Oh, I’ll tell them.» when I told him about the meat, didn’t bother to apologize. Place will be belly up soon.

You know I have given this place a lot of passes over the year we have been coming. Mainly because the owner/manager and the cook are so nice. They began serving the style of rice noodles my wife wanted which were very similar in size and texture to Guilin rice noodles. And while the rest of the ingredients of the soup are still phở, just having the noodles put a big smile on my wife’s face. If the cook or owner are not around, it’s pretty much impossible to get the noodles that she wants. Over the past year I have watched as the menu dwindled down. Items weren’t removed from the menu. I have watched as customers come in and try to order 3 – 4 different items before they are finally successful in finding something still offered. My wife experienced this on Saturday. Don’t expect them to have squid or scallops even if it is still on the menu. Sushi is no longer offered and signs are still up. It’s a shame. The rolls were really OK and at least as good as Central Market when they had them. It was a nice variation for me when my wife had her noodles. Even the Thai fish cakes are gone. I have watched customers come in and quickly become befuddled at the counter service. Quite often there is a line and the cashier is responsible for running food out from the kitchen. I have watched the owner’s inexperienced teenage daughter drip phở across my food and the table to serve my wife. I have watched my mother request white rice on two occasions only to be served fried rice. She is a vegetarian and does not eat egg. This last visit, they took her plate back scraped off the fried rice and 25% of the tofu entrée and re-served it to her. While on the subject of this last visit, this is when we learned the owner/manager walked away from the business. I am guessing it’s franchised. When I mentioned to the new cashier we were regular customers, he apologized for all the problems he had heard the store had. I found that to be pretty funny later since the service was just as bad as usual! My patience is gone. My wife says let’s check back in 3 months. Honestly, I’ll be surprised if they are still operating in 3 months.

I really wanted to like this place but it needs a lot of improvement. First off, the guy working the counter didn’t seem very knowledgeable when it came to the menu and almost seemed nervous? The phở was okay. Just okay. The broth was greasier than what I’m use to and the meat slices didn’t seem of high-quality. Overall, this place is just not authentic and is «Americanized» asian food.

Korean and Vietnamese food in one place — say whaaaa? VENUE: Located in a sort of isolated place. The area in general is still developing so in time I’m sure the place will look more appealing. Size is a bit on the small side and the way the seating is set up it seems a bit crowded. Benches are connected to one another so be careful when you sit down, you may scoot the people sitting in the bench behind you over like i did –_– FOOD: Got the bulgolgi rice plate. You can’t got wrong with rice plates i’ve decided. The bulgolgi was pretty nicely marinated and cooked to a tender chewy consitency. Yum. Came with Rice and lettuce and kimchi. Rice and lettuce were standard. Kimchi seemed a bit too sour for my liking. LIke it has been sitting awhile. The beef in my friend’s udon entrée was dry and and flavorless — watch out. But the udon is super good. Decided to try the smoothies — mango peach. Not so good. Made with powder so it didn’t have a very good flavor — plus it wasn’t blended well so i had tiny chunks of ice in mine. SERVICE: Cashier was nice and friendly. Drinks, sauces, to-go boxes, etc are all pretty much located at the self-serve counter. Kind of nice because you can just get whatever you need when you want.

I wasn’t sure whether to give this place 3 stars or 4 seeing that they are somewhat in between. This location is fairly new with nice understated décor, clean tables and a freakin’ awesome condiment bar filled with all types of chilis. People seem to be a little to critical of ordering at the counter but I don’t see any problems with that. This place is a self service restaurant and getting your own water is no big deal in my book. They’re not expecting a tip and I’m not giving one, that’s their MO. People who are not use to this, need to get with the program. I do agree with people that the food does come out extremely slow if you’re ordering certain items. You would figure that phở should be out within 5 minutes but no serious complaints in waiting as it was delicious but not the best i’ve had. The combo fried rice came out fast and it did not disappoint. My friend ordered the tom yom soup which was more oily than the one’s i’ve had in dallas. It look good, tasted good but was too oily. The staff meaning one counter lady and two people in the back could hustle a little more but i’m really here to write about the food. Not agregious faults but they could definitely step it up a notch. 3.5 stars in my book but 4 for being priced well, clean and good.

Previously, I was a fan of Rosie’s Phở, but no longer. Their vermicelli noodle salad is tasty and they have decent crispy house special spring rolls. My partner and I went for a late lunch this afternoon, and ordered the usual. No sooner than I sat down after retrieving utensils and tea(the soda machine was broken), our noodle salads arrived, but not our crispy spring rolls. My partner inquired about the missing appetizer, and the cashier/server brought over cold spring rolls. I informed her that’s not what I ordered, not to mention who brings appetizers after the entrée is served without so much as an apology. I told the cashier/server I ordered the crispy house special spring rolls and she rudely tells me that the crispy rolls are eggs rolls and the spring rolls are always rolled. I calmly tell her that I’ve been here many times before, and I do know what I ordered and I know what spring rolls are. She continues to tell me that I ordered the wrong item?! I politely and calmly told her to return the cold spring rolls and bring what I paid for. Now of course, when she sulkily brought them out after we were halfway done eating, I refused to eat them. Rosie’s Phở really needs to train their staff in appropriate and courteous customer service.

such a backwards place. so much awkwardness. i’ve never been to a phở place and had to order at the counter. granted this place is trying to instill a different feel… but even so, there’s not enough room in the front to figure out what it is you want before ordering. so we took a menu and sat down. figured it out, and then went back to the counter to order, then sat down again. okayyy… get your own water. get your own condiments. get your own everrrrryyythingggg… food comes out. the veggies for phở came out last, which is odd b/c that normally comes out before you can finish saying what kind of phở you want. phở spoon comes out with the veggie plate, right when you’re wondering where the heck… then you finally get ready to eat and realize you’re missing a little sauce dish. get up. get your own. phở was less then mediore. broth was murky for some unknown reason, but at least it was edible. my beef steak cubes entrée, on the other hand, were not. tough and dry, i truly had to choke them down. my friend’s bun rieu was FUNKEH. this guy– the guy who eats nearly everything– couldn’t finish it. something was very off and not very bun rieu about it. the whole layout of rosie’s is just non-intuitive(my word of the day). there’s an area of seating where you think you can walk past to head out of this place, only to find that you’re trapped in by booths. bad food with plenty of backwardsness(your word of the day).

I would most definitely have to give Rosie’s high marks. Me and my girl shared the steak flank phở. By far this is the freshest phở I have had in a minute. Fresh veggies, clean beef and flavorful soup additions. Overall Rosie’s is clean and a hidden treasure with limited driving access. Will definitely go back for the prices as well.

I am a connoisseur of Phở. It’s my favorite meal to eat when dining out. There are not many good Phở places in south Austin and the good ones are all up north. I live south, and I saw this Rosies Phở place in construction for a while so I was looking forward to checking it out when it opened. It’s open now and I went there for dinner tonight. I was not very impressed at all. The only good thing I will give them is they have great spring rolls, made with fresh ingredients and a mint sprig. I ordered the chicken phở and it was not good — it had a strange flavor to it that I can only compare to the scent of pesticide. I couldn’t eat much of it at all. Hopefully I won’t get sick. The service could have been better as well. I went there expecting it to be like any other vietnamese place I’ve been to — full service. But it’s partial self-serve. Which is ok, but it was my first time and I really didn’t know how and where I was supposed to order. Two employees walked by when I first got up to the counter and didn’t even acknowledge me. Finally a girl came over(she was friendly at least) and assisted me with the menu. Then some other guy took my order at the counter, and didn’t tell me we had to fix our own drinks. So I sat down for 5 minutes and it was apparent no drink was coming my way. I had to ask about that and was told we had to fix our own drinks. Again — I don’t have a problem with that, I just would have appreciated being told that while I was ordering. I didn’t try their sushi or bbq so I can’t comment on those. It may be better, but I’m not planning on going back again. Pros: great spring rolls Cons: mediocre service, phở

Like Yvonne, I waited forever for this place to open and when it finally did and I ate there, I was very happy. Yes the food is not spectacular, but it’s tasty enough. I think personally they have way too huge a menu and that prevents them from being really good. That said I’d go there again. However I wouldn’t order sushi because they don’t have it out anywhere I can see it. Also I went there for take away one night after 9pm and there were tons of uncleaned tables. seemed the people there were tired and chilling. However they do have a generous and fresh looking condiment bar. It’s slim pickins for us South Austinites so for the moment Rosie’s gets a pass. Also @Margot D.: Was it really a 1 star experience or were you more upset that someone rolled their eyes at you? Like I said it’s not 5 star but how about some level of objectivity? Maybe«Daniel» didn’t feel like considering your personal taste, mood and style before recommending some dishes for you. Maybe«Daniel» didn’t really give a shit because he’s been working all day at a neighborhood cheap Asian place and he gets paid shit. Hey we can’t all come from fancy Beverly Hills.

OK I realized the address I posted is waaay off since I got a friendly PM asking where exactly this place was. This place is across 1 – 35 from the Southpark Meadows shopping area. Think Slaughter Creek Overpass and I-35 area. On the heading north side of I-35 access road. The phone # I listed is correct, promise!
