Nagoya Steak & Sushi

We’ve been looking for good sushi ever since we got here. We’ve been to this place a few times now, and we not disappointed. We had the classic ones and the house special ones. Great sushi, great service — and consistent, which is always a good thing…

I hadn’t had sushi in a while and went for a late night snack with some friends. Sat at the bar and we ordered several different rolls. The Texas roll will forever be my favorite, and Nagoya is now my sushi fix.

Great food and a great show cooking it!
This is a great place to go either as a couple, on a group or as a family. The chefs are very funny and having the food cooked in front of you really adds to the experience.

Excellent food, excellent service. We had the hibachi and our chef was very entertaining. Next time we are in Austin we will return.

I was hoping for more out of this place. I ordered the New York strip lunch special. The beef was bland, the portion was small, and the salad wasn’t fresh. I left hungry and a little disappointed. The service was excellent and everyone in there was polite. That’s about all I took away.

Very pleased with this place. We got habachi. Cook was very nice and friendly. Good food for the price. Lunch time es much cheaper though

Service was slow and they moved us from table to table. We ended sitting behind the chef. He had to reach over the cart to serve us. Some of our food ended up on the floor. And was never replaced. No manager was on the floor or available to help.

There were only 2 people to do the hibachi on Thursday night, so we had to wait for about 20 to 30 min to start seeing the hibachi show :(
Food was good. New York strip was super good and Filet Mignon was OK (I will not order this next time). Hibachi show was great and fun! One thing it bothered me was that they use «Kamikaze Hachimaki» and sword for a birthday picture (which as a Japanese person, I was not happy with). They (workers and owner) were obviously not Japanese, which I do not care, but if they do serve as Japanese food, they should know better to not do that?!

Great, entertaining dinner with yummy food! As noted in many reviews, there were lots of children in the restaurant (all well-​behaved) so be prepared for a family-​friendly vibe. Our chef put on an awesome show, doing all the standard tricks — the choo-​choo, volcano, flipping the shrimp in your mouth, etc. All of the food tasted great and was prepared as requested. There was a very difficult man sitting next to us with demanding requests and the staff handled him kindly and with ease which speaks well of their customer service. We’re definitely coming back.

Needs improvement. They food was just ok. Nothing worth coming back for. The big turn off was the Mexican chef making Asian jokes and accents. I found it a little odd and offensive. Japanese steakhouses are expensive. I expect it to be clean (there was shrimp all of the floor) I also like it to be more classy and inviting. This place is like Chuckie Cheese. Just not worth it.

The food here is great. They have pretty high quality sushi. But theres a couple down side, it’s way too cold inside. They have the thermostat on way too high .So ladies bring a jacket with you, you’ll need it. This restaurant is not that big so it’s kinda crowded and loud. I usually like to eat at a place where it’s kinda semi quiet at least. I couldn’t hear my husband talking to me and we were sitting across from each other. In all, the food was awesome though

I prefer Nagoya over Tokyo steakhouse hands down! We have always had great service, cooks and food! We normally come here as a special treat for the kiddos. They always cook my steak the right way, and the flavor is great! We will defiantly return!

Awesome place! This was me and my girlfriends first time having teppanyaki /​hibachi.
We were kind of in the dark about what to order, but ended up going with the Nagoya dinner for two (steak, shrimp, chicken) and we ordered calamari & a side of scallops (we were clearly starving, haha). I can’t remember our chefs name, but he was great! Made the whole experience a fun one. Wenyi was our server who is also so sweet and was extremely friendly, knowledgable, and efficient.
We are officially hooked on this place after one visit and I can’t praise the friendly staff, great overall aura, and food quality enough! Also side note about pricing — you get what you pay for, as everything is reasonably priced!

Nagoya steak and sushi have great food. The sashimi and sushi are fresh and delicious! It’s a fun environment for families/​kids, I recommend Hibachi table (where the chef cooks in front of you). The chefs are very talented, friendly, and most of all super hilarious! Happy hours are from 3−6pm everyday and they have food and drinks for reasonable/​good prices! Very satisfied and definitely will be coming back again!

I have been going here for two years now. Their food is excellent. Their sushi is always fresh and their steaks taste great. I had the chicken hibachi lunch today. Very tasty. I have food allergies and they are very accommodating to my requirements. I will surely return. Their lunch prices are very reasonable for quality Japanese food.

I really like this place it was delicious! The service was good could have been better but you can tell the waitress was over worked and really needed a break.

I’d give 3 but there were some major misses. My server, although sweet, brought the wrong nigiri and forgot or didn’t understand my saba order. (It was good once I got it though) Avoid the spicy tuna roll, tuna looked not very fresh and was drowned in runny spicy mayo, plus I’m pretty sure it was either made by a blind person or was hit by a bus on the way to the table judging by its mangled appearance. Same goes for my crawfish roll. Spicy edamame was awesome though, as was my sake-​tini. I’ll probably give it another shot, but stick to veggie items. And saba. Always saba.

I really appreciated the great food, great service, and friendly staff overall.
I have seen this place many times and finally decided to drive this way for a special dinner night and my great expectations were met very well.
The hibachi service was fun. It was all of those fun cliché puns and gags and chef tricks that you would imagine. We had kids at our table and the chef «Kevin» (I think) did his best to entertain and not scare them (with fire, etc.). It was a simple, fun time.
We all ordered something a little different. Steak & Shrimp, Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken, Steamed rice, Fried Rice. Kevin did his best and it showed. I appreciated the tenderness and seasoned steak and shrimp. He added just the right amount of seasoning for my medium-​rare request.
Additionally, I watched him prepare lobster for others and even provide additional shrimp for a person who ordered it, but it did not make it to his prep station for cooking. I think that was a stand up act and attention to detail that pays big dividends in the end.
Our waitress Wenyi was very attentive and hustled at every chance, all while holding a smile. It was sincere and not fake, so we all appreciated that.
Overall, I will come back when I am ready for the experience again, some great food and a show, because it was worth it. It may not be an «everyday» meal for me, but it can be a special one when I want it.

This is a fun occasion place. The food is good from Hibachi. However it is very salty and lots of butter.
The chefs are good at performing, but you will see the same tricks over and over. Also, you will notice they are not as professional as ones in bigger metros.
