This is the first review in my 15 years or so of shopping online and using Unilocal. The last 5 times in 6 weeks I have tried to order food from this trailer, they have been out of chicken(3x) or closed when their business hours were posted as open(2x). I think this may be why Favor no longer partners with them. The drivers expressed frustration with this establishment consistently. Prior to this, the chicken has been very inconsistent. They used to overseason it to the point it was inedible. Now, it’s less so. The cooking is also inconsistent(breading and chicken cooked thoroughly). This is a neighborhood trailer and I love fried chicken. I have eaten here about 20 times since they’ve opened bc I really want it to get better! I’ll keep checking back here and with friends, but my opinion seems to be echoed by friends.

Impeccable chicken, and extremely kind service. Ms P clearly cares about her work and customers on an individual level. Fresh local ingredients makes a meal from a southern fried dream, reminds me of the freshly fried food my grandmother used to make. Glad I discovered her place. I’m sure I’ll be back quite regularly for some more of the best chicken sandwich and fried chicken I’ve ever had.

The best fried chicken I’ve had in a very long time. The Mac amen cheese is a def must as are the fries. I would order extra so that you can have left overs the next day.

It’s good chicken good service. We only got to try chicken strips because they are closing down on December 21 thru January probably from a week needed break of making the best Mac and cheese I ever tasted. The quality of the food is great and they took their time. The truffle fries was the best. I ain’t a thick fry chick but the season was very tasty. We even got a second batch of fries. The owner came to our table and talked with us, she was from Dallas parts like us. I understand why she is here. She fits in very well with the Austin folks. My husband generally doesn’t talk and she had him engaged. He said she is genuine and… I agree great personality. So there it is and 2 words I have… Eat Here! and we got a second order of Mac and cheese too

Loved this place when I worked in the area, b/c I could get breakfast tacos with fried chicken in them at 9am. Sometimes service was a little spotty, phones unanswered, weird charges, that kind of thing. One time they were out of chicken, which is like, their whole deal.

If you want what I consider traditional fried chicken this is not the place to go. Think more seasonings and less breasting. Everything was tasty and the staff was friendly, though!

The chicken was freshly fried and tender but the ratio of breading to chicken was not enough. As for the flavor, it was good but doesn’t match the old lucky j’s fried chicken. The waffles were also fresh and hot, the flavor was typical. As for the jalapeño aioli, it was more like a slaw(I wouldn’t recommend it). As the chicken was freshly fried, it took about 15 minutes to receive the food. The guy working was very friendly and gave me an extra waffle. And he was happy to accommodate my complicated order!

I had the 3 piece(which was two drums and a wing) and the truffle mac. The cheesiness and texture of the mac was great, but the truffle oil was unnecessary. The chicken did have an interesting fry and good, crispy skin, but the meat itself had that kind of wet, gelatinous feel of undercooked chicken. I don’t think it was actually raw but it was just too juicy. There were beads of moisture on the bone after I ate the meat off. If I went back I would get bone-out instead and try the fries.

I work pretty close to here and every time I go(everyday) they are always happy to help and really cater to their customers. I was there last week and they had just gotten a new point of sale system so things were running pretty slow.(Makes sense) one of the owners apologized and offered me a free extra taco for the 5 minute wait. Then earlier today I went over and one of the owners was there so he immediately recognized me and we had a nice conversation. Besides the good mannerism and excellent customer service these are some of the best tacos I’ve had in Austin. I tell all my friends to check them out and they have definitely made a life long customer out of me.

My boyfriend and I shared an 8pc bucket for I think $ 18.99, but they actually ended up giving us a few extra pieces. They chicken is kind of like giant wings instead of your KFC size, which I didn’t mind. The skin is was so perfectly crisp. There was a really nice crunch. The inside was really juicy. It also came with 3 dinner rolls and pickled carrots and jalapeños. I wish they offered more sauces though.

When Mrs. P’s is open, and the tacos are flowing, it’s fantastic. But you should always CALLAHEAD. 50% of the time they’re either closed because it’s raining, because it’s SXSW, because they’re out of eggs, or potatoes, or they just don’t have tacos today, sorry, or because their cash register broke, or one of their employees didn’t show up, or whatever. I would love to eat here every day(and I’ve tried!). I know that trailers can be flaky, but this one is just ridiculous. If you’ve got the urge to go here, CALLTHEMFIRST. Srsly. Save yourself a trip.

This is a case of a VERY over-rated trailer. I heard lots about this place, then I went and tried it. I received two very small pieces of chicken were 9 dollars with no side. WAYOVERPRICED for what you get. The flavor was fine, but nothing special. I could have gotten the same thing at another restaurant(with air conditioning and a waiter) for less money. I’m getting tired of being over-charged around town just because you run a food trailer that thinks I’m in the charity business. On top of this, they were about to close 15 minutes early and turned people down to make food. WTF. If I had a business I would make sure it stayed open until the official closing time, and even then if a large group of people came up to the trailer I’d please them and cook them some food because I don’t mind hard work. I will not be returning.

Chicken fried up right. Good food should take time so expect a wait for a line and for the food. You can order ahead of time which is helpful if you want to grab and go. Do keep in mind that Austin Bag laws don’t allow them to bag stuff up so bring your own! The chicken: Crispy but not greasy. Juicy and happy. Bite the head off of one of the pickled jalapeños in the basket and pour that spicy juice on top before you bite in and you’ll be pleased that you did. Fried in peanut oil allowing for a tasty high heat to keep the flavors and juices in but make a happy crisp on the outside. The breading is peppered and seasoned beautifully to give it an amazing taste. The truffle Mac & Cheese is also divine. A true hearty heavy Mac and you’ll love it. The truffle oil adds a nice touch to the flavor profile. The serving is enough to eat all alone not as a side. So if you’re with a group get one to share between two or even three people. The Mexican corn on the cob is a surprise. A nice char to the corn adds a delicious smokey flavor that compliments the cheese and jalapeño sauce it is covered in. The flavor pairs well with the chicken and the pickled jalapeños that come with. The soco slaw is simple and it doesn’t need to complicate things. Great taste and consistency. I don’t traditionally enjoy slaw and they make me want more. Their waffles are light and crunchy so don’t go expecting a fluffy cake consistency. As a result they are a little dry. Not my favorite. I’m used to a heavy cakey waffle with my chicken so that was a bit of a surprise. Overall it’s a wonderful friendly trailer full of good smells and good people. Stop by, you won’t regret it.

SOLID3.5STARS We visited Ms P’s back a while back and just got some fried chicken and fries. The perfect thing for a chilly day is warm fried chicken right out of the fryer. The skin was crispy but greasy and the inside juicy. Flavor was mild and interesting. The fries were really good, however, and we couldn’t get our hands off of them! This is nice with the dinner rolls they gave us, but I still prefer it as is! The guy was super nice and we all talked while waiting for the chicken(which took a while, but it was fresh!).

Interesting concept for a food truck, and business name. I appreciated the raunchy humor I noticed throughout Austin and Ms. P’s Electric Cock is no exception. The chicken sliders with home slaw were well-executed. Still wish I knew what«electric spice» meant, but it’s all very tasty.

I drove by this place a few times and it’s so cool looking I had to try it. Alas, I was disappointed. The chicken is fresh and I liked the crispness, but it was just lacking flavor. Seven bucks for two small pieces of chicken and a roll seems like a lot.

Mrs P truely understands her cock. Some of the finest fried chicken I’ve ever eaten in Texas. And it shows! The Electric Cock has some wild secret blend of herbs & spices that make her chicken come to life and explode with flavor all over your tongue. KFC musts be sending spies into her business for the hidden secrets, because no one make it like her! Keep in mind Mrs P is one of the many food truck vendors sweeping Austin, but what’s separates her from everyone else is the quality and style of her food. Proof that you don’t need a building to make unreal food. Keeping a simple approach to her food and making it savory and delicious for all to enjoy is why she is the QUEEN of the Electric Cock in Austin! Can’t wait to return for more. I loved your food!

Breakfast Taco annnnnd GO — you take the most tasty chicken tenderloin on the planet, add some jalapeños, cheese, BACON, and some mother $%##*&* FLUFFYEGGS! — throw in some damn love while you’re at it, shove taco to face. GAMECHANGER. Your life will be better. The hours are somewhat frustrating because I honestly never know when they are open, and I work right near it, so I frequently walk over to be saddened sometimes… I have gone at 10 and they stop serving B tacos, went at 11:50 and said they serve B tacos till 12… I give up. The fried chicken itself is very solid, decent selection of some hot sauces as well. You might pay around 6 – 7 dollars for a breakfast taco with the above options, but it is worth the investment. Don’t come here for some migas BS. Go to Tacodeli if you want some overpriced eggs and flour. Super awesome staff, Jimmy Kimmel’s favorite chicken spot in #ATX — Hence the photo. Damn, now I want some chicken — cya in 10 minutes Ms P! be open!

Stopped here on a whim, on a beautiful 70 degree Austin December Saturday afternoon. I love me some fried chicken, and I would always drive by here thinking«oh yeah, I should try this place out sometime». Well, that time finally came. And it was worth the stop, that’s for sure. The gentleman at the trailer seemed genuinely interested in our experience(especially since it was our first time). Great customer service, and the food came out relatively quickly for being cooked fresh. No, it wasn’t the best chicken I’ve ever had. But it was really well cooked. Perfectly crispy and juicy, but the batter could’ve used a tad more salt and/or seasoning. I really enjoyed the thyme fries, I’d highly recommend getting that. The mac and cheese was alright; another lady in line with us raved about it but I found it to just be ok? I was more excited about the fries, honestly. A solid 3.5 star experience, definitely worth checking out. Be warned, it’s a little pricier than you might expect, due to the location.
