Mother Nurture Doula & Lactation Support

Not only is Tanya a fantastic and very knowledgeable doula, she is also a lactation specialist and placenta encapsulation specialist. I knew I wanted all three to be involved in my prenatal/​birth/​postnatal plan, so this was a dream come true. Tanya met with us several times to chat about my wishes for the birth and helped by looking over my birth plan making sure I didn’t miss anything we had talked about. We had a session at home to go over breastfeeding, which was incredibly helpful. Our home birth went extremely well with no complications whatsoever. Tanya was so warm and comforting, holding my hand, helping with warm compresses and encouraging words and helpful advice for my husband and I. I’ll never forget there was a point at the very end of labor, while pushing, that she told me «imagine the baby coming down, and then up»…this sounds counterproductive, but I listened to her and focused on that, and sure enough I could feel the down and then upward motion and it worked! I started really feeling our baby girl making her way out. We had an incredible experience overall!
After our baby was born, my husband and I rested in bed with our new love, while our amazing midwife did all of the clinical work, checking on baby and momma.
Tanya made us a little breakfast in bed and helped tidy up… so helpful!
2 days later, Tanya came over to check on us and deliver my encapsulated placenta pills… in addition she dried my umbilical cord into a heart shape… so sweet — I’ll be keeping that to show our dear daughter one day.
I started by taking one placenta capsule a day, then increased to two a day. I’ve been feeling GREAT! Aside from a few days in the first couple weeks where I just felt like a fish out of water (totally expected for a first time momma getting little to no sleep!), I’m doing so good. My energy is high and I feel healthy and happy.
My husband and I are so incredibly grateful we chose to work with Tanya through the most important experience in our lives. She is not just our doula, but she will forever be a lifetime friend.

Absolutely the best birth experience thanks to this amazing lady! Her support and knowledge brought me so much strength and confidence during my delivery and lactation needs. I had a «fast and furious» labor and didn’t have much ability to express what I needed, but she did an amazing job at determining what would support me best. Even during a few scary moments in my labor she gave me the confidence I needed to bring my baby into the world the way I wanted, naturally! I also had some latching complications at the beginning of nursing, but again she was able to help my baby and I get off to a good start. Great overall experience and I HIGHLY recommend her!
