MiPhone Doctor of Austin

They open at 10:00. I made an appointment online for 10:00. It was confirmed. Got there at 9:55. By 10:10, the doors were still locked. Nobody around. That’s weird for a retail business, even a small one. So I called the number provided to me when I booked the appointment. No answer. Left a message. Gave up at 10:22, at which point two other customers were hanging around the locked front doors. It is now 2:54 and they haven’t even bothered to call me back.
Edit: The owner called me later, very apologetic, and made sincere efforts to set things right. I give him credit for that. I understand that running a small business often leaves you at the mercy of your employees. So I’m upgrading this from the previous one-​star review I left.

This place was awesome! Fast, extremely courteous and trustworthy! Waited in the lobby while iphone screen was repaired. I bet I wasn’t there 20 minutes and I was out with a perfectly working phone! Thanks!

Super nice guys! They replaced the screen on my 5s quickly and for a competitive price. They’re on 290 in Oak Hill near the Y.

I just got my LCD replaced here and it only took 20 minutes. John was very kind and explained everything to me about my phone’s specific problems as well the cost of repair. While I waited, John handed over the TV remote and told me to make myself at home. And if you’re wondering about how my phone is working, it’s working great. So got liquid in my iPhone that caused the battery life to cut off quickly. I was very close to just getting a new iPhone till my girl did a search for iPhone repair and found this location near our place so I figured it was worth shot to find out what they could do or not do.
Got greeted fairly quickly since I was the only one there. Getting the there can be tricky cause you easy miss the building if you’re not paying attention and end up U-​turning. Anyways I explained my situation and was told that hey with water damage I can’t guarantee that if the phone is taken apart and if it doesn’t turn back on you might be S.O.L. So at least they let know right off the back if you wanna take the chance or not versus the oops I thought you knew before work begins.
The actual work didn’t long at all; about 5 – 8 mins and boom the touch id and screen was working just fine and left. I charged the phone to a full charge and took it to a concert later that night to test the longevity of the battery. I was able to take multiple pictures, videos, stream, and talk all night. Phone didn’t force shut down and the battery life was back to the way it use to be. So after 24hrs of looking over the performance I am very satisfied with the work and performance to remedy my situation. Big thanks and would recommend there service to anyone with iPhone issues in the Oak Hill area.

MiPhone Doctor is a great place to get my iPhone repaired. They are quick, efficient and very knowledgeable. John, the manager diagnosed my problem, and fixed it quickly and the repair cost was reasonable. I didn’t even have to make an appointment. Ok so one week after just getting a brand new i-​phone replacement due to tripping on the sidewalk and cracking the screen, I knock my phone into the drink. I quickly fished it out of the water, dry it off and take it out of its Morphie case. Images fade, vertical lines appear, after about 20 minutes total shut down. I head off to my next meeting, thinking i’ll bury it in rice when I get home. No rice at home. Head over to the Apple repair place on 2^nd Street – they aren’t promising, say they will send it out, it will take at least 6 days. They recommend going to the Apple store and buying another six.
Evening two. Bury dead phone in rice. Look on the internet for other solutions. Lots of advice. The rice was one of the suggestions – might have saved me that I executed that step. Miphone doctor pops up on Google search. Impressed with their SEO strategies. Make an appointment.
Take iphone six to the Mi Phone Doctor Oak Hill location which isn’t too far from downtown. Easy to find. This is a brand new location. Owner was there-​Ben Kinder. Super nice. Knowledgable. Took phone. Said he would do what he could. He uses a process not unlike jewelry cleaning where they actually sonic clean the copper wires. Thought it would take a couple of days. He seemed like an honest and reputable businessman. I left the phone. He called several hours later saying that the new store wasn’t that busy and he was able to jump into fixing my phone and that it wasn’t too bad. He replaced the camera, the port and dried it out and cleaned it up and that he thought it would be good to go They ran some diagnostics and everything looked great.
I am a happy camper since i leave town day after tomorrow and will have my phone, I didn’t have to buy another iphone six and I didn’t have to exercise my last insurance chit with AT&T.
I will definitely use them again (hope I don’t need to but I am a bit accident prone!) and will recommend them to all my friends including you new Unilocaling friend. Good luck. Take your broken phone or ipad there post haste! And say hello to Ben.
