The food was alright. Much more slow to get to the table than taste-wise. A member in the party sent the beef enchiladas back because there no beef. We were told that the returned dish was taking so long because the cook was upset. A house Margarita is $ 6.50 and I’d question whether there was any tequila in them. Service was excruciatingly slow from start to finish.

First try for lunch today. The food is not very good. The puffy taco was gross. It has a thick slab of hard doughy corn –cardboard that was not edible. the cheese enchilada had a weird curry taste. The guacamole was fresh. Definitely a first and last visit for me. the Mexican bakery in the same center does a much better job.

Man what a terrible experience. Came here with my two kids for a quick lunch. My son orders 2 burritos with VERYLITTLE hot sauce on top. He repeats this 3 times to her. So we get all 3 items individually over about a 20 minute time period. Keep in mind their was only one other table in the restaurant. So we get these two burritos covered in hot sauce. I told him to just try it. So after 2 bites he says he can’t eat it. So I politely give it back the waitress and tell her he can’t eat it. And ask for a glass of milk to help with the over abundance of hot sauce. So after about 10 minutes and no milk, we go up to pay. To my suprise they made us pay for the burritos because they said he «ate it and didn’t tell her little hot sauce». So they refused to take it off the bill. So we go get on the car and I was do mad that I went back in abs asked for the plate back. they probably thought I was gonna a box it so she gave it back to me. I snapped this photo of his«eaten burritos» You be the judge…

The food is really good! Best chimichanga I’ve ever had. The hubbz and I like it because it’s never packed so we never have to wait for a table and our food is always hot and ready before we know it. It’s not the BEST Mexican food, but we usually don’t feel like waiting 40 min for a table at some of the other nearby places, but it makes the grade. Was not impressed by the dessert though.

Worst mexican food, or food period. I got the combo #1, the tamale was a dried out flavorless husk with burned mystery meat that was unrecognizable, the beans had a rotten taste and the ‘guacamole’ was nothing more than a ¼ of a mashed avocado. I am worried that I will now be sick from this food, also, to go orders don’t come with chips!

The Tres Leches Cake saved this review from being a 1 star. It is absolutely amazing(they don’t make it in house, we saw the box they got it out of but didn’t catch the name of the company). Very moist and tasty. They have a normal salsa which isn’t very good and not spicy at all. Their spicier salsa is VERY hot so be prepared. I wasn’t much on the flavor, but the heat was great. I had 2 breakfast tacos but could only eat one as they burnt my bacon on the 2nd taco. No bueno. My partner had the barbacoa tacos and thought they were just okay. The queso was pretty good, but it is made with velveta. My biggest complaint is that we went here to have a margarita & they weren’t serving anything but beer tonight. :(Be sure to call ahead if you are going in for margaritas and make sure it’s actually on the menu…

Great little place close to the boyfriend’s house. Good food, great prices, friendly staff… I say if you are in the area go for it.

I’ll review what we had starting from the beginning Chips/salsa — great! The salsa was a bit spicy but delish. Queso — made w/velveeta but nicely done #2 combo(taco/enchilada beans/rice) — taco shell was fried fresh. Rice was dry, beans were good. Chile con carne tasted like it was made with canned wolf chile(not a fan). Torta Cubana w/milanesa — omg I’ve found my new favorite Torta joint! The bread was awesome! The milanesa wasn’t the typical thinly sliced breaded beef, but rather chunks of breaded beef that were super moist and tender. Tamale — it was offered with Queso on top. I decided to get it without. It was pretty dry so I ended up putting some of our appetizer Queso on top. No wonder that’s how it’s normally served. Soda comes in a can — no refills, but the horchata was good! Our tab was $ 23 plus tip. Probably better to go at lunch. The Torta will bring me back for sure!

Atmosphere: It looks like a Mexican restaurant they may have once thrived but is now run down. I have no other idea how to explain it lol. Service: The service was a bit slow. To be fair it looked like the person waiting on us was also helping out in the kitchen, but drinks took a little while to get refilled. The attitude was pretty meh, server came off like she really didn’t want to be there and after awhile it just felt like me and my husband were annoying her with our presence. Food: Mediocre. I got their Enchiladas Suizas and it was alright. Fair amount of chicken but sauce was a bit on the bland side especially for Suizas. The rice and beans were forgettable. Price: Cheap! Their saving grace. Overall: It was an okay experience. Everything was just average. I’ve had much better Mexican food in nearby areas so do to the location and the meh service with bland food I won’t be coming here again. Considering it’s a Mexican restaurant in a heavily populated hispanic area with MANY Mexican restaurants I expected the food to be a lot better than what it was. It tasted like they gave up.

I went here today simply because I had seen it before and love trying new places. Oh, also because of a good review I recently saw as well. I got the green enchilada plate– superb! All fresh tasting with good white meat chicken. For $ 6 on the lunch special and includes an iced tea, can’t beat that! The chips and salsa were really good as well. Good clean place, good waitstaff, good food at a great price! Been there several times since my review and been really impressed each time. Breakfast tacos and plates are fantastic too!

I have to update and say that after a long day I met some friends here for dinner and the waitress made me a mango margarita that was out of this world.

Tamales with chili con carne are really good here. It’s good anyway, but on the lunch special, including ice tea for $ 5 is pretty damn amazing. Its across from sea dragon on the opposite strip mall tucked in back. Sometimes its a little dark inside, but that doesn’t bother me too much for a cheap delicious lunch!

This place is great. I really enjoy the tamales and puffy tacos. The lunch specials are unreal. I dont remember the days off the top of my head but two of the five weekdays the 9 lunch specials are $ 4.99 including an iced tea. Rest of the days they are $ 5.99. That is normally one entrée with rice and refried beans. They also have a large regular menu which is very reasonably priced as well. I havent been to the happy hour but they advertise $ 2 margarittas and $ 1 mexican beers. The place is clean and pretty big, nice atmosphere.

I had the #9 on the lunch special and it was good for the 5.99 I spent on it. Way cheaper than most combos at Burger King!

I was Unilocaling yesterday to see where to go for lunch. Didn’t know what to eat then looked at decided hmm Mi Casa looks good. They have 9 lunch specials to chose from and it came with an iced tea. Not only that but it was for only $ 4.99 instead of $ 5.99 on Monday. I’m a chicken enchilada person and it was excellent. The entrée was hot and the chicken was not dry. Service was EXCELLENT. Waitress was attentive. Talked to the owner and turns out she is affiliated with La Familia on William Cannon. They have great happy hours too. Free Wi-Fi.

After a week of eating very little(and drinking more than my share) I got back in town and was desperately in need of some sustenance. Clad in utiliklt and dirty crew shirt, I walked in, and the only ones there were what appeared to be the owning family. I just got a torta to go with some chips and salsa thrown in. The torta was tasty, but I’m still searching for the best torta in town. I skipped the chips but tried the salsa. Not bad, really, but not very flavorable or spicy. Maybe it tastes better with chips? I’ll likely be back for inexpensive margaritas and to try more of their menu.

This place is tucked away inside the shopping plaza right across from Sea Dragon — very easy to miss as it’s signage is not visible from the 183S frontage road. I found this place because it was suggested as a lunch spot by a co-worker yesterday. Turned out to be a very good suggestion. The corn chips were some of the best I’ve had in a while. We commented how good they were to the waitress and were told that the chips and corn tortillas were made fresh in-house. For lunch entrees there was a good selection of specials for $ 5.99 which included a free unsweetened iced tea. I went with the cheese enchilada/beef puffy taco/rice/beans plate which I took a picture of and uploaded to Unilocal.Everything tasted great and the ingredients were fresh — super value for the quality of the meal. No doubt this will be added to the regular lunch rotation.
