Massage Envy – North Austin Pflugerville

We got a couples massage here as a gift from my future mother in law. The location is pretty convenient for us and they were very friendly at the front desk. Their waiting area is a little ghetto but that’s ok we were seen right away.
I have some serious knots in my shoulder blades, shoulders and neck from chronic tensing up and might have something to do with my wedding being next week… either way I asked for a deeper massage that was focused only on those areas since I am coming back a week and figured I could get a more pleasant massage then.
It was pretty intense. I believe my massage therapist was Tim and he was not too bad, he kept checking in with the pressure but I really wanted him to work out the knots so it was at times not so pleasant but he wasn’t too rough. My honey had Cora who apparently was so great that he kept falling asleep and snoring! So I think that I have her this week, I am looking forward to it.
I think these types of places are hit or miss with who you get, these guys didn’t tell us to stay hydrated after the massage and they were a little awkward. Maybe I bring out the awkwardness in people, but I did experience some pretty serious bruising after so my lesson learned is to have them go easier next time.
I might end up getting a membership here though, you can add onto a current member’s subscription for $ 50 a month for a massage that you can stockpile and use anywhere. That is what we pay for our chiropractor and I think massage is more beneficial for me. They also do facials here… I would recommend but maybe not for all of the therapists that are here.

Have been coming here since moving to Austin. I schedule massage every 2 – 4 weeks depending on schedule and personal finances. I am disabled with back issues, so need a deep tissue massage with some expert knowledge of anatomy and safety. I have tried each of the male masseurs at least once, found one I enjoyed and come back to him on a regular basis. None of the massages were sub-​par. All were good. Finding the right masseur depends on «click.»
Highly recommended.
BTW, standard pricing in TX seems to run @ $ 1/​minute scheduled. Massage Envy’s membership is actually a good deal if you are going to use massage on a regular basis.

I have been a member at this location for about 7 years and have enjoyed the benefits of massage therapy and the ability to gain a same day appointment. My schedule is so tight that sometimes it’s hard to keep pre-​scheduled appointments.
This location along with the South round rock location have the best therapists in town. The customer service is great and the staff is friendly.
Anytime that I’ve ever had an issue, the manager has always taken the time to listen yo me and has resolved my concern immediately.

Today I went to massage envy. My job as a mover has me drive for days at a time. last night my calf muscle tightened up so taught it felt line it would snap. Ten minutes of pain at 3 am and finally able to sleep.
Why massage envy? An honest massage at a reasonable price and absolutely no threst of being involved with less tgan ethical persons. Being from westminster, Ca., with massage places every block, you must read the police blotter before going to one.
So I read the reviews here for this store, and being a little concerned, my calf muscle did not care about reviews.
I called to schedule, Courtney was a pleasure to speak with. My concerns were noted and appointment with Kelly as the therapist was scheduled for that same day.
I arrived 10 min early and courtney reviewed my concerns and i was taking to the waiting room. Kelly arrived to guide me to our room. In the shirt time she wirked with me, my legs became tolerable again. after leaving the room I was shown the results of Kellys thoughts and thanked for my business. Whats missing is tge hard sell techniques that are prevelant in todays society. I was ready to stand my groubd and not buy anything, just get a massage. They deprived me of my opportunity to refuse by not pressuring me to buy. So, as a reward for this, i bought something.
Also tipping Kelly was a given, she was great and truly made a difference.
Next time im in austin, ill visit this shop again for sure!!!

I like Massage Envy overall in the Austin area. I’ve tried multiple locations and many therapists.
I highly recommend Elaina (sp?) She is well worth the drive from 2222 area even though there are two clinics on the way.
She doesn’t beat you up, she has a wide range of pressures she can apply and she is attentive to feedback and requests.
I’m a fan.

As I’ve said before, I come here for the superb massage therapists and the welcoming front staff. I’m currently seeing Chris, Cynthia and Gege and could not recommend them more highly. All three give an awesome deep tissue massage but also cater their massages to YOU, which means easing up when you’re kind of wimpy, like me, but also need to get some needed therapy because of too much computer work.

I went on a Thursday after work. I arrived very early and filled out my paperwork. I was then escorted to the «relaxation room» which is leather couches with the tv playing a very relaxing video of the woods, creeks, it sounds silly but I almost fell asleep right there.
My appointment with Jackie started 5 mins late and she made sure I got a full hours worth. She was very attentive and for a petite girl, she’s very strong. She worked on my back, shoulders, neck, EARS, scalp, feet and legs! I have horrible tension and knots in my shoulder area and she got in there, forearms, hands, and I could feel the knots going away.
I had never had a massage where they worked on your legs also (I was not fully undressed) and I neglected to put that I had a knee problem on my questionnaire. I was scared her pulling and bending my knee would aggravate my injury but 3 days later I am not in pain. I never knew I had knots in my calves but she got those out as well.
All in all, I highly recommend Jackie. She was very nice, professional and I felt relaxed.
My only complaint was feeling like the front desk girl was pushy in her sales pitch. If you come in a 2^nd time without signing up for the monthly membership, it’s 98.00!!! Ridiculous. The monthly membership is $ 59.00 and that is for one massage in that month. If you want another in that time it will be $ 49.00. When I told her I didn’t want to sign up she immediately changed her attitude from friendly to annoyed and huffy. She was ready to see me go because I guess she wasn’t going to get commission from selling me a «membership».
With that being said, if you decide to go for the monthly membership, pick Jackie! I will not be returning though because I don’t feel like the pricing is reasonable.

I’ve been to this location 3 times hoping each time that my bad experience was simply an «off» day for the group. But my third visit was not a charm. My complaints:
1. A 60 minute massage is actually a 50 min massage or in my experience a 45 minute massage. They spend 5 mins discussing your wants and then allow you to undress. In all 3 of my experiences my massage didn’t start until usually 10 past the hour and usually concluded no later than 5 til.
2. The price seems to vary every time. Apparently when the desk clerk comes in to talk about your massage while you’re in the waiting area the «talk» is a disguised up sell of items they have available. Even if you’re politely just listening, nodding your head some how means you agree and are then charged for additional items. I was charged a different price for each one of my massages and I still haven’t figured out what was different about them to cost more.
3. I felt that the masseuse I had was rather rude in his comments about my body before the massage.
4. The ridiculous pushy membership sell post massage. It certainly ruins any good mood you might have had coming out of your massage.
5.The quality of the massage was mediocre at best.

I recently enjoyed a 90 minute dep tissue massage and fell asleep 5 times. DONE
Usually Massage Envy is hit or miss but my therapist was amazing. She took the time to really learn why I was there and where to focus. Very affordable rates and a clean atmosphere (minus the chic on her phone in the relax room)

I know Massage Envy is a chain and I know that most people on here will give a star rating based on the quality of massage they received. However fair that might be, it may not give the best representation of the business as each masseuse and client are different. I had a massage at this particular location and was very dissatisfied with the masseuse. When I voiced my concerns to the front desk, the manager immediately told me I did not have to pay. But she went a bit further to find out what I didn’t like about the particular massage so she could then recommend someone different for me. From her recommendations, I have found Donneisha who is lovely and by far my favorite. It was just that extra step, rather than only saying «I’m sorry» that made me happy :)

I have been a member of the Massage Envy program for a few years and I have tried several locations. I don’t think I have had the same therapist twice because I am very picky. I love that I can always have a different person every time I go. The last time I visited this location, however, I think I finally found a therapist I will be returning to. His name is Chris and he is very good at finding my knots. I require very firm to deep pressure and as a female, most therapists are afraid to press too hard. The massage itself was wonderful. I’m holding back one star, only because I think the counter staff can be a little more friendly. I am in the customer service industry too so I am picky about really good front desk help.

I have been a client of Massage Envy, for several years, now. The young man I have gone to regularly, is Rick Zaebst. Not only is he an exceptional person, who is extremely personable and kind, but he is the best massage therapist I have ever been to! He always starts off the session learning what is going on with his client, and where they feel they need extra attention, i.e. back, neck, feet. He listens intently, and follows through completely. This is a professional which from the moment he begins, you know he is topnotch at being a massage therapist. He has strong, yet careful hands, and depending on what type of massage you feel you need, by the time he is finished, honestly, you will feel like you have a new body! Everytime I have gone to him, I leave feeling completely and utterly renewed, mind, body, and spirit. I feel like I am ready to take on anything life throws at me!!! Please go see my friend, Rick. He is a healer in many ways, and I feel found one of his true callings, when he became a massage therapist. It is not a luxury, but a necessity for wellness.

Rick at the Tech Ridge location has sold me on Massage Envy. I have now seen him going on 6 years. He is beyond words. Amazing, awesome, etc. There truly are no words that justify him. Maybe actions help. I have standing appointments for forever as long as they will let me. I would tell you to come see him, but I should rather tell you that you need an appointment. One that may be way out in advance (yes, because he is that great), but so worth it. If you can get an appointment — Rick is your man.

I’ve been getting massages regularly for a few years now and have been very happy with my experience at Massage Envy Tech Ridge. The first massage I got here was not very good, to be honest (not enough pressure), but I returned the next month and had a great one with someone else and signed up for a regular once a month schedule based on the friendly staff. In over two years I think I’ve only had a few massages below par, but when I stick with my regular therapist (highly highly recommend Cynthia) it’s like butter. She also always has helpful advice regarding stretching and working on my stubborn muscles in between massages.

My wife have been getting monthly massages from here for over a year. The staff is super friendly & I have never had a bad massage. The masseuse is always attentive to my needs & makes sure that the experience is to my liking… everything from the pressure to the temperature & music. Plus the location is awesome. & for $ 49 a month for a hour long massage… you just can’t beat it!!!

First off, its a chain… but having said that… each location is not the same.
We got gift certificates for a holiday and decided to spend them immediately. It was pretty easy to make the appointments and they had some good selection of times available. My guy and I wanted to go in at the same time, but we weren’t really all that interested in being in the same room… but that is an option.
Our appointment was 8:00 pm, so we were excited that they were open so late. We did get there about 45 minutes or so early, as requested to complete paperwork. The paperwork took about 10 minutes to complete, so we just hung out in the waiting room for the rest of the time. Its a nice waiting room and serene enough.
I can’t speak for my guy’s experience, but I didn’t care all that much for mine. We had gift cards for an hour long massage. He went back first, and mine started 10 minutes after the hour — so I was just sitting there by myself waiting for my massage person. and then she went over my forms. and that took another 5 minutes. Then she left for me to change and she came back 7 minutes later. I didn’t worry to much about it at the time, because I thought that I’d still get an hour long massage. .from when she actually started. but she actually finished up a few minutes before 9 — AFTER confirming that I wanted an hour long massage — do the math, I got just over 33 minutes of a massage.
And then once the massage is over… you have the whole sale pitch to get you to sign up for the massage program… kinda a hard sell when they just jipped me of my gift dollars for the massage… made me wait for ever, and the massage itself wasn’t even that great.
I might give it another try. IF I got another gift card. not sure that I’d want to spend my own money on a repeat of this experience. I’d much rather prefer to go to one of my other regular massage places… you pay more, but the experience overall is a lot more consistent — even across different therapists and the actual massage.
Bummer! Initially I was excited to go because this location was so close to my house. I was hoping that this could be my new massage place… I loved the extended hours… but alas, my search continues.
