Be adventurous & try traditional Japanese Koriente curry with chicken, ½ rice, ½ noodles & avocado. Summer roll and lemonade iced green tea on the house. Thank You for the hospitality! Be prepared for a line out the door at lunch time, even on a Tuesday. Miso Soup & salad free if you dine in. I suggest ordering to pick up ahead of time if you’re getting it to go. It will save you time from standing in line out the door due to space. Please keep their door shut while in line, so squeeze inside or start a line outside. It’s a small dining space, but a must try.

LOVE this place! If I lived in Austin, I’d come here regularly. Chose to eat here cause their food looked super fresh and it is! I got the mix mix bibimbap with ahi tuna and avocado. Amazing! Great portion sizes too. They gave me free avocado since it was my first time visiting. The service is super friendly and the place has good vibes all around. We were in Austin for 3 days and came here twice! Almost came 3x, but decided to give other places in Austin a chance haha. Definitely recommend!

Great location, friendly people and tasty food. Note to myself: better to go there on Sundays so I can find a parking space easily…

My favorite restaurant in Austin. Ingredients are always fresh, they are very vegetarian/vegan friendly, there is complimentary miso soup, the atmosphere is inviting, and they have boba teas! The staff is always really cool and they take care of you, your dietary needs and your allergy restrictions. Their bibimbap and noodle garden are both legit. You can add your meat of choice(tofu for the non-carnivores) and avocado if you like. They have non-dairy options for the boba. They also have a little beer selection if you’re in the mood.

I’ve been here twice now and I’ve had a great time each time! I love how customizable the dishes are! The first time we went we had an amazing experience. She asked us if we have ever been here before and when we told her«no» she gave us tidbits on every item and let us know our first drinks were free! AWESOME! I also love the refillable miso soup. It is a great deal on delicious healthy food! You get your food within 5 minutes of sitting down which was great. I recommend the bowls because you can make them vegetarian or add an avacado or fried egg!

Healthy. Quick. Easy. Tasty. Nothing I couldn’t throw together at home, but a great option for when you want something filling and healthy and you’re not in the mood to cook! We visited Koriente on a Friday night and were able to find a table easily. The cashier was incredibly helpful in assisting with our orders since we were first-timers. I had the Obaka bowl A, if I remember correctly, and ordered extra chicken. It was the perfect amount of food and totally hit the spot. The runny egg on top was the icing on the cake, I loved the self-serve miso soup, and the iced tea was delish! A great spot for lunch or dinner!

I have no idea why this place is thought of so highly. It may be because it’s vegan friendly, as being vegan has become a very popular thing in Austin nowadays. I ordered the curry with chicken and was pretty disappointed. It didn’t taste bad, but it tasted like something I could make using the instant microwavable curry(which I think tastes okay, but why would I go out and pay more for such a dish). They have free miso soup that’s self-service but that was rather plain as well. The most annoying thing is that the main dish is very simple, and they charge extra for everything. You’ll pay a decent amount for a dish, and then you’ll get tempted by the cashier to add chicken, egg, avocado, and so on for an extra charge per topping. Maybe it was just my dish and all the other ones are great. Not so. I went with a rather large group and most of us ordered different dishes. We were all unpleasantly surprised by how«okay» everything tasted, given the high ratings of this place(most people said this place deserved at most a 3-star rating). Portion size is okay, but that doesn’t mean much when the taste isn’t there. Best thing was that the workers were kind. Overall disappointing place.

Some of my friends really like Koriente and suggested going together when they found out I’d never been. We came for dinner and ordered the spicy chicken bowl, which came out within 5 minutes! I got a bowl of the free miso soup, but there was no tofu to be seen. It was kind of oily too. Sadly my chicken was a bit dry and bland for my taste, so I added some red sauce(that usually goes on the mixed rice bowl) and downed it with the miso soup. Overall, I didn’t think that the meal was good value/anything I couldn’t make at home. I felt like it was an Americanized take on Korean without all the flavor I love. Props though to the speedy and friendly service and good portion size. I just don’t think Koriente is for me.

Koriente is an office favorite for healthy takeout. Lunch comes with miso soup and pickles(if you ask!). Everything is very fresh and… simple… in a good way. I always get the mix mix bibimbap with avocado. Yum.

I had the japchei with oyster and shiitake mushroom. This dish is a little bit sweet and salty with a potato glass noodle mixed in a with vegetables. I would definitely recommend this warm dish. My boyfriend had the Obaka bowl b and said it was over on the too salty soy side. Miso soup is too salty for my taste. The service is very friendly. Family owned/ran business. One of my Austin favorites.

The service could not have been any better. The young man working at the front was helpful and friendly. He made excellent suggestions! Highly recommend the bi bim bap with avocado tuna, the ingredients were so fresh, I can’t wait to go back! The free miso soup and parking lot in the back were awesome too :)

This place has it going on. We arrived for lunch at 12:30, thinking we’d miss the rush. We were wrong. The line was out the door. We waited patiently for 5 – 10 minutes and finally made it inside. There is a wide selection to chose from, so once you make it inside the door and can see the board, make wise use of your time. We miraculously found a table and our food arrived not long after. For a place that is so busy, they are very efficient. Our food was exceptionally well prepared, and tasted quite fresh. I briefly considered extending my business trip another day so I could eat here again. If you walk here from the convention center, it appears you may be walking into the world headquarters for homeless people. Don’t freak out, it’s worth the walk.

Get ready for a dose of healthy happiness! The food here is fresh & very tasty and best of all — it’s not the usual Asian food that is swimming in oil! You order at the counter and choose your noodle/rice bowl. You can substitute the rice(that comes with the bowl) for veggies, noodles or mix of brown/white rice. If you’re feeling extra special you can add an egg/avocado/spicy tuna sashimi etc. for an extra charge. They are pretty accommodating and can really make your bowl the way you want it. I have had the mixmix bibimbap a few times — it’s real good! Not your typical bibimbap in a hot stone bowl, but they have lots of fresh julienne veggies that complement really well. Also, the beef & tofu is really flavourful so I really didn’t need to add the extra sauce provided. The ahi tuna bowl is also great too! Large cut of tuna seared on the sides, but still rare inside(the way we like it!). Yum! However, the Obake Bowl(A) with rice — this bowl was rather plain, something I could totally whip up at home. Overall, Koriente is great for take out or a quick healthy meal. Lunch is best though, since you get those unlimited pickles… !!

I really enjoy their noodle salad. It’s sweet potato noodles with avocado(ask for extra), sauce, veggies and I got mine with raw tuna. I have to say this place is not as good as Nancy’s sky garden in Georgetown(go, just go) but it is a good alternative that’s a heck of a lot closer.

Koriente. Koriente. Koriente. I crave this place when I wake up sometimes. The food comes out quickly, the staff is friendly and hooked me up plenty of times with free drinks and they have good suggestions on what you should eat. The quality of food and the quantity is impressive here. You also get some miso with each order which is great if the food is taking a while to get out to the table. I personally get the mixmix with spicy chicken, avocado, and mushrooms. My fiancé gets the yellow curry and she loves it. They have plenty of vegetarian options as well as some bubble tea. This place is so cheap especially considering it’s location. Keep Austin local and keep this place in mind when you want some good tasty asian food.

Mixmix Bibimbap! Get it and enjoy it. If you’re a couple, get one for each. Probably the best combination of healthy and vegan for any take-out dish in the Austin area!

Kori what now? Vegetarian Asian fusion? Yeah, right. Pigs can fly. Or that’s what I thought. I was as wrong as not wearing sunscreen on a 105 day. Tucked away on 6th street across from the Empire this place is a real treasure. The line was pretty darn long for early evening and I knew right away that this was my kinda place. The ambience is both chic and casual. The place is clean, with clean facilities and comfortable seating. The menu is extensive. I mean, rice medallions what! And so much more to choose from. Plus, free miso with every order. Even though it tastes a little like instant miso. The prices are fair– 3 entrees for 25 $. The curry A was the absolute best of the lot, with the rice medallion as a close contender. I’m not a tofu person, but I really liked the tofu in the curry A with rice. Win. Parking can be a nightmare, so plan accordingly. If you wanna bring your kids — I didn’t see high chairs(maybe they have some stashed in the back), but the littles will love the noodles. I think I saw bubble tea on the menu. Pardon the complete lack of menu recollection, I wandered straight in here after a rather eventful evening at craft pride and I ought to be excused hence. Great little place to have a quick meal for sure.

Cute little restaurant in downtown Austin — on 7th between Red River and I-35. Pros: the food is great! And they have some pretty healthy options, if you’re tired of fried fried fried. This vegetarian recommends the shiitake tofu bowl! It’s a vegan dish of tofu and mushrooms in a miso-soy sauce over a bed of spring greens. Add avocado! There are plenty of other good vegetarian and non-veg options! It’s very affordable! Cons: Parking. There’s a tiny parking lot behind the restaurant, but it fills up fast — esp. during lunch service! Also, just a heads up, this isn’t the safest or nicest part of downtown Austin. If you’re picturing a fancy Congress Ave. type restaurant, this is not your place!

One of my favorite places that I dined at during my short trip to Austin was Koriente. Koriente offers Korean and Asian inspired dishes in a casual atmosphere. I was with a group of friends who were all vegan and one of us was gluten-free and Koriente had options for our entire group, which was great! You basically order at the counter and sit down and the server will bring your food out to you. They also have self-serve miso soup available. This is what I ordered: — Rice Medallion Sauté(Sauteed green cabbage, mushrooms and rice cakes served on a bed of fresh spring greens and julienned green cabbage, and topped off with a pile of sweet potato noodles) and I added additional mushrooms and avocado. This was delicious! I loved the chewy rice cakes and all the veggies. It was like eating a salad with chewy rice cakes and jap chae noodles. Yum! — Hummus Roll(homemade hummus, avocado, organic greens, red cabbage, cucumbers and carrots in a thin tapioca wrap). I really enjoyed this! Very refreshing for the hot, humid weather. My friends ordered various dishes such as the MixMix Bibimbop and the Obake Bowl. All of us enjoyed our food. I would definitely come back if I’m ever in Austin again.

I regret coming here. The only reason I came here was because on my trip in Austin, my group and I ate out a lot and we were looking for healthy food with greens. Eeek was my feeling walking out of the restaurant after dinner. $ 2.50 cinnamon tea $ 2.50 for a bottle of beer(extremely cheap!) $ 8.50 Beef Obake Bowl(extra for a fried egg) — Too salty — What’s wrong with this dish? Everything. Just avoid it. $ 4.50 hummus roll — Just okay. It was better than my beef obake bowl. Good thing I ordered this or else I would be crying at the dinner table.
