This place is awful. Don’t waste your time. There’s a sweet chicken dish and a spicy chicken dish. I got the spicy chicken dish that’s supposed to be topped with spicy Korean BBQ sauce. Nothing about the sauce tastes Korean. It was basically some watered down red sauce and then a bunch of sriracha on top. There were only about 5 tiny pieces of chicken in the dish, some onions and bell peppers, and it was 85% white rice. The white rice didn’t even taste good. Probably one of the worst food stands I’ve experienced in Austin.

I’ve had two tastes of «funki chicken» the last two times I’ve visited 6th. The first time I tried this I was a bit under the influence. There was a guy holding one of these and it looked really good, so my stomach decided to make all the decisions. I walked right up to the guy and said«Can I have that?»… and he looked at me like I was an idiot, because I was, and he said«no». And then I said«Can I just try a piece?» And he said… sure, and gave me a bite. It was really good, and really weird. The breading is different and crunchier than you’d expect, and the sauce is yummy and sweet-ish. I’m not a brat, I don’t expect people to throw food at me, but when you’re drinking out on 6th you never know what crazy generous people you’ll run into! I asked a girl what beer she got the other night and she handed it to me to drink. It’s worth a shot to ask for a taste if you don’t mind looking like an idiot! This is my cheap college self coming out :) Stop judging me! The second time I walked by the place and the guy working there was just holding a whole Funki Chiken stick. I figured I’d ask to try it, and he just handed me the whole thing! So that was pretty awesome.

I promised the guy working that I would write this review a few weeks ago, but haven’t gotten to do so until now. This stuff is AAAAMAZINGLY delicious! I’ve actually spent about $ 20 on it just in one night because I kept coming back for more. Their secret sauces is what makes this worth it guys! You’ve got to try it! I’l be coming back for more and more!

Incredibly unique choice of food, super cheap, and simply ah-mazing tasting food. If your having a night downtown and need a quick bite before or after your festivities, forget alllll the pizza and bratwurst, get a funki chicken for you and everyone in your group, you will NOT regret it. Best five bucks I ever spent.

This is one of the best stands in Austin. The concept is unique and the owner is very helpful and enthusiastic about satisfying the customers. It’s a great experience and worth going to over and over!

From all the food stands I’ve experienced this is the first of this kind. It’s fried chicken kabobs. Very interesting concept. Very flavorful, has about 5 – 6 pieces of big chicken on a stick for 5 bucks. Easy for carrying around and sharing.
