This is a regular spot for me and my husband. The food is tasty and the service is usually good. The name is great because it sounds like a what a large cat would say when slapping someone across the face. You can communicate so much by saying«Ka-Prow!» in difference voice tones. Why four stars? Well, its really really good, but its not excellent. Part of the reason we go here so often is because Round Rock doesn’t have the best restaurants in the world. That being said, I would say that Ka-Prow is probably in the top three and could compete well even if it was in a better place than Round Rock.

This place has one of the best rolls and sushi in Austin, me and my wife go there often. Great service and the food is so good, all the dishes are great. My suggestions: AJ roll, bacon roll

I have been here once and I will certainly be back for more. On a recommendation(and a whim based on it’s location and timing) we stopped in one Saturday evening with the kids. It was dark, not a whole lot of folks in there, kind of fancy looking(did I mention it was dark?) based on the napkins, plates, etc on the tables. I ordered the Ka-Prow Noodles instead of my standard Kung Pow or General Tao’s Chicken as my judging meal since my wife and I were going to split it. I am glad I did. It came with chicken and the flavors were great. It was kind of spicy, but not too much. There was plenty of food to split with another person although I could have probably eaten the entire thing. The kids ordered the chow mein and I was a little worried they would not like it, but they both cleaned their bowls. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and we will have to stop in here again.

My wife and I have had Ka-Prow about 5 times now. We keep coming back because it’s great Thai food! We’ve always done takeout and eaten at home, so we’ve never actually dined in. But the takeout service has been great. I’ve had the Beef Pad Thai, and the Beef Pad Seuo, and both are amazing. My wife loves the Yellow Curry with Chicken and gets it every time.

I’ve seen this place and have driven by undermining until last night. I stopped by for a quick dinner to be surprised by its elegant ambient and the combinations of dishes available. Thai food and sushi exactly. Perfect place to bring a date on a budget and still impress. Quality and quantity. Highly encourage foodies to try this place. I will be a regular.

So I met Guy S. here for lunch(and he was as nice as can be :) because so many Unilocal friends highly recommended it… It was good. Nice place. Nice service. Great tofu pad thai. Even the side salad was good. Nothing much else to review… I’d go back ;)

Everything tastes better in good company and today I had the pleasure of dining with Lindsay M. She adds 1-star to any restaurant rating just by being there. So, Ka-Prow Bistro, today you receive a 5-star review. As soon as I spotted Burmese chicken on the menu I knew I had to have it. Burma, officially Myanmar, fascinates me. I’ve read articles on Burma, seen videos and the country is officially on my Bucket List to visit. However, I can now say I’ve had Burmese chicken. And I like it. A lot! I’m impressed with the al dente veggies, flavorful sauce, spice level and the chicken itself in my Burmese chicken dish. However, next time I’ll order white rice instead of brown rice. I guess I had a momentary lapse of reason when I ordered brown instead of white rice? I dunno? But it was still a 4-star dish with the brown rice. I’ll be back.

Ka-Prow is a new lunch spot for me! They have a wonderful menu with plenty of options. I almost went with the pad thai but the yellow curry caught my eye. Pad thai looked awesome so that will be my next lunch. I started off with their hot and sour soup. I usually spice it up with some chili peppers/sauce but no need for that with their version. If you don’t like heat I would recommend not ordering this. My yellow curry with chicken was spiced perfectly and was just the right portion for lunch. Service was attentive and my ice tea glass was never empty. Love dining at these hidden gems.

Last Monday I had a friend from NY visiting and I wanted to take her to Thai restaurant. off course I chose my favorite thai Titaya’s. We drove there and it was closed. I didn’t realize they’re closed on Mondays. So I took her to Ka-Prow(which I’ve never been to) and I’d say the experience was not horrible but I wouldn’t go back there. We were(and remained throughout our dinner) the only customers at 7:30pm on Monday. There were few tables(I’m serious) with dirty dishes on it from the guests who were there before we arrived. My friend was ordering for us. And she ordered the coconut milk based soup(bland), tuna sushi roll for app(big but average tasting sushi.) and we shared the Pad Ke Mao(flat, wide rice noodle shrimp) dish that was good but not great. We didn’t order much as we just wanted to chat and snack. So still being the only guests in the restaurant the waitress made a mistake and brought us two Pad Ke Mao dishes(one with veggies, one with shrimp) where we requested one dish to share that had both veggies and shrimp. She went back to the kitchen to fix it and we waited another 5 – 10 min. At the end she gave us a check with the two noodle entrees that she mistakenly ordered so we had to wait another 5 min for the check to be corrected. I noticed that our Pad Ke Mao was $ 14.50. And it had 4 – 5 small shrimp, 5 small florets of broccoli, and few strips of onion and bell pepper. I don’t know if it was worth $ 14.50 Honestly, my friend from NY was polite and the beer she was drinking helped her to be positive but I was quite embarrassed about the whole experience. Maybe we just went there on the wrong night? Oh and the dirty dishes remained on one table right next to us, while two waitresses were chatting away a couple tables away from us. Pad Ke Mao was tasty but nothing that I’d take picture of or drive for again. The rest of the meal: bland. The service? I don’t know how to describe it… the waitress was sweet and I think she meant good… just too many mistakes(with the entrée and the check) and the table with dirty dishes right next to us… :O

I love Kaprow! They are not always open but I love the food and service here. They have gluten free menus and they are sensitive to food allergies. I love the water here too! I know that sounds silly but they must have a very good water filter lol. The mango sticky rice always hits the spot! They have happy hours specials on Sunday too

Ka-Prow has come highly recommended by my FB foodie group so I decided to give them a try when I came back into town and we didn’t feel like making dinner this week. They are SUPER conscious of the gluten and allergy crowd, so much that you get your own color menu, plate and take out box. My guess is someone probably tried to pull a scam and burned them before, but it is very nice to see that they are so careful and attentive to people with special tummy needs. I am one of them but I don’t have deathly dangerous allergies so I opted to look at both menus to see the difference. Honey got the pad thai and I got the sizzling grilled duck with pan fried rice noodles, more medium than medium spicy. We also got the spring rolls and I tried their house salad and thai iced tea. The spring rolls were OK, the shrimp tasted a little fishy but it didn’t get me sick and I put some soy sauce on there to help. The salad was standard and was also just OK. I did like their thai iced tea but most places are pretty consistent with that. So far, everything is just OK… but then I get my dinner and I am taken back to when I visited Thailand with the bold spices and clean flavors and overall yum factor that I have not been able to get with any other of the«highly recommended» thai places in the area. The duck was grilled perfectly and juicy and spiced just right. I loved the fresh basil and veggies with the rice noodles, the sauce was not too cloying or sweet… but it was not cheap at $ 17! The pad thai was just OK maybe a little bland. I gave it an extra star though because our service was excellent and while they are pricey, if I wanted thai food then I would come back. The sushi seemed interesting as well but it was also very pricey so I might not bother getting it from here, it is also in a weird strip mall with a ghetto bar in pretty close range and a mexican fruit cup place that looked pretty good actually. Very varied neighborhood, Austin continues to amaze me with that.

The salad was yummy, the sushi was okay, tempura was not fresh. Soup was good. Will return to try the egg drop soup.
