I love this new food truck!!! The chipotle burger is incredible! I have been trying to frequent here since I’ve discovered them, not to mention the owners are so kind & very friendly! It takes a lot for me to give a 5 star, but HotMess deserves it.
Things that a must: the nachos! Delish! Of course, they’re famous for the chipotle burger… and its devine too! Thanks for always keeping us happy HotMess!

My favorite thing about hotmess is EVERYTHING. The pulled pork tacos are to die for, but don’t die until you try the chipotle burger! And you can top that off with a side of mac n cheese. Such quality food from such a dope spot. Still trying to figure out that secret sauce…

Showed up at 6 when they were supposed to open, but no one was there. Called their number and it was sent to some google voice message. What a waste of time — I’ll try it again when they seem to run a decent operation and are more professional.

I’ve never written a Unilocal review. This place was so awesome it drove me to do it. If you like a mouth full of spice– get the chipotle burger (as my boyfriend did). I’m a bit more timid so I opted for the Western but added the special (which is spicy) sauce. Did not disappoint. I’ve eaten a lot of burgers in my life, like a LOT of burgers. And I can confidently say this is one of the best I’ve ever had. Top it off with the fact that the workers are awesome and it’s in the front yard of the «Historic Scoot Inn» which has great beers, live music and movies! Go here. You won’t regret.

Hot Mess has the best ribs I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. I’ve lived in Texas for 25 years and have eaten a lot of ribs, but nothing compares to these ribs. I even brought my parents here from Dallas to taste the ribs and they were out and I was devastated. I have an emotional attachment to these ribs… that’s how good they are.

We had BBQ from Hot Mess catered for lunch. I was really disappointed! Brisket was really tough, chicken & ribs were ok. Sides were not to our liking either, tasteless. But the worst was the sauce. You can’t be a BBQ place in Austin, TX and not have a good sauce.
It was probably one of the most disappointing BBQ experiences I’ve had in Austin the 15 years I’ve lived here.

Ordered the pulled pork on potato. It was delicious!!! First time going and it is very lively with music and alcohol. Didn’t know you have to be 21 to come in as it didn’t say on Unilocal reviews but I guess I can mention about that. There is a security guy that checks your ID. Don’t know if its a Sunday event or I just happen to be lucky.

Fantastic! I had the loaded potato and the ¼ lb bacon cheeseburger. So good! Fresh veggies, bacon was melted into the cheese. Doesn’t get better than this. :)

This place is pretty money. Huge potato for $ 3. If you’re Irish you need a potato a day, so this fulfills that requirement. Mac and cheese is on par — super delicious and unique. Love that it’s on Historic Scoot — they wouldn’t allow them if they weren’t chill.

I cannot say enough good things about this food truck! It truly is a hidden gem! I had the hot mess with pulled pork on top is incredible! The burgers were on point and I cannot wait to go back! Plus their staff is hysterical!

Great food in an awesome spot. Got the titular Hot Mess and it was delicious. Plenty of seating at picnic tables and you can enjoy it with some good beer from inside. Overall, I highly recommend dropping in if you’re in the area or even going out of your way to try it.

Mmmmmmm! If you’re looking for a awesome place for food that’s sinfully good you have to stop by this food truck. The avocado dip is literally the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth (don’t tell my husband I said that ;)) Not only is the food soo delish it’s parked in front of Scoot Inn which is the oldest bar in Austin located on the East Side (the cool side). If they have ribs on the day you stop by GET THEM! Neely and Kyle run the joint and they are pretty f-​in cool. They will stop and have a beer and beat you in washers.
