I was in search for a couple of items for my new home. This store is located within the parking lot of Best Buy and Ross’s. Being new to the area I get slightly lost in the Southwark Meadow area since there is tons of stores within the area. Hobby Lobby is very similar to Michael’s. I enjoyed the fact that Hobby Lobby offered coupons online, has a lot of items on sale, and sells cute furniture. I found a few possible cute pieces for the home. The check out area was a little slow but I can honestly blame it on some of the people who shop here. Someone was using a check??? Who pays with checks anymore? It was grandma and it took awhile for her to check out all together. Cash is even old fashion now a days. Save some time and get your coupon online before showing up here and use your debit or credit card to check out. Easy peasy.

I will start this by saying Joanns is my preferred store. Went here looking for carbon paper, didn’t find it at either places. Browsed here and had a few employees look at me and never offer help. Seems pretty typical of retail these days, which sucks. Meh.

I picked up everything I needed. You can’t go wrong for crafts and office supplies here. There usually aren’t enough employees to serve your needs if you’re a needy type of customer but if you can browse on your own then the store is fine. That’s true of any Hobby Lobby. Go crazy! You will walk out with more than what you came for. Their prices beat most stores, including Target and Walmart, but the product quality is still superior. I’m a Hobby Lobby fan. Other craft stores don’t have the inventory and just are not as good overall.

After having a generally miserable experience at every store I’ve visited, I resorted to HL being the last place I’d go for general supplies. Excluding the few items they sell exclusively, I haven’t gone to one in months. Now, here I am living in a new place, very close to this location, decided, what the heck, I’ll try it. At all locations I’ve encountered staff who aren’t overly zealous to help. But now, I actually find staff who actually helps, at the very least, tries sincerely. This is a vast improvement from all my other experiences. I just got done returning a few items, making a purchase, and retrieving coupons. The young lady, Ashley, was superb. Patient, helpful, and was able to process my transaction and returns easily. Apparently now, they can look up my transaction by my card. That’s been a huge issue for me. Now, that huge issue is gone, staff is overall much more pleasant. This makes my serious resistance to this big box, a lot less of a thing now. I can comfortably say I will go here to get what I need, and won’t have an anxiety attack thinking about it.

So I went in on a cold rainy night, to see if the manager Ricky would honor an in store coupon. Ricky approached me and did NOTSMILE. Nor did he offer me a handshake as a customer. RUDE! Needless to say Ricky agreed to honor my coupon but FAILEDATCUSTOMERSERVICE! I mean you’re the Manager for crap sake. Ugh I will NEVERGOBACKTHEREAGAIN. And I WILL be calling the GM.

Great selection and pricing. Heard a rumor they might be closing, I hope it’s not true

Please save yourself the trouble. Stay away! The customer service is beyond rude to almost hostile. I was ignored repeatedly asking a customer representative for something. Check out is extremely slow with constant price checks(I don’t think they use Barcodes which really slows things down.) I know that Hobby Lobby is a Christian store, but I don’t think their God will smite them if they sale a few items for Chanukah. A few years ago I asked if they had Chanukah crafts and the customer service representative said that they only sold Christmas holiday items.

I shop here for Art supplies, nick-nacks, picture frames and so forth. They have great sale items and tons of craft and art supplies. This is the place, I think of… whenever I need art supplies. They have never let me down. Sometimes, it is hard to find a customer service employee among the numerous racks and the lines to the cash registers get a little long but that is getting picky!

I love hobby lobby… until I get to the checkout. It’s always slow, all returns require a manager approval, the lines are so long & there never seem to be enough cashiers. They’re friendly enough when you get to the front of the line, but they could use more checkstands open more often.

Today I went in the store and remembered why I stopped going to this store. This store NEVER has enough cashiers and then when they get busy(and by busy I mean people 6 and 7 deep waiting to check out) then they throw some staff that don’t know how to work the registers, on the registers. Stood in line for almost 20 minutes today to check out. Almost considered just leaving my cart full of stuff and walking out. This is not the first time the check out has been a major hassle at this time, it is almost always like this if you go during non-normal work hours(meaning times other than 9 – 5 monday through friday). Their selection is ok. Prices aren’t that great. I have never once had a staff ask me if I needed any help. Going to stick with Target and Bed Bath and Beyond…

Walked the entire store looking for jewelry box inserts for a custom built-in I was making without being asked if I needed help by a single employee. Eventually I asked the fabric guy if they had any and of course, they didn’t. I’ve now been here 4 times, and only once did they have what I came for. I’ve had much better luck at other locations in the past. Seems to be a long checkout line every time too. I’m sure this store has a purpose other than lots of pretty women to stare at and make uncomfortable, I just haven’t figured it out yet…
