Loved this place. Very close to work, so it made a great lunch spot. Nothing like getting a veggie burger, curly fries, and a milkshake for lunch, right? I usually got the wild mushroom burger with swiss cheese and the veggie patty. They had the option of a wheat bun as well. What made this whole burger was the chipotle mayo for me. It was made in house and was to die for. The fries were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Just the way I like them. They have a very nice outside patio, with misters and all. I am sad its closing shop today.

Not bad… really. It could be better, especially given the location and limited food choices for those that work in this area. It’s a serve yourself kinda place.

I recently switched jobs and have been scouring the West Lake Hills area in search of a good place to grab lunch at. Thank god for places like Hang Town Grill. This place reminds me of a place from my hometown and delivers on juicy burgers. I’m also a fan of their Chicken Caesar wrap which says a lot because I’m not ever a fan of salads or wraps. I think their fries would be better if they were thicker cut but curly fries are still pretty kick ass and hard to f’ up. I think the best thing about this place is the atmosphere. Its just an all around nice relaxing local place to grab some American cuisine.

This is somewhere I come regularly for lunch. The close proximity to work is the number one reason for it. The food is hit or miss to be honest. Some days I will have an amazing lunch, and others it is lack luster. Can really say the same about the service as well. Is that what you would call what the do here? Service? You basically order up at an ordering station, and then wait for name to be called. You grab food, and refills and everything are on you to get. The only complaint I have is how long you wait some days for the food. I understand a place being slammed, which honestly during lunch it really is always busy. But the length of time to get order varies to a high degree. High Points Pizza’s are delicious, they do make them quite well. Grilled Chicken sand which mushroom melt is tasty. Chipotle Mayo Everything else I have had has been ok, but not good enough to shout about. Overall this place is good, somewhere I would recommend anyone in the area to go for lunch. But I would not go out of my way to venture here for a meal. It is a solid 3.3 for me.

Alrighty then! As good as I can remember from 5+ years ago. Had the Classic Burger with bacon & cheese and a side of onion rings. The restaurant was busy for lunch and took awhile for our order, however, the pretty people took my mind off of the wait. Considering all of the newer and upper end burger joints in town, this is a good burger. If you’re in the area, eat here over fast food please.

Hadn’t been to this place in ages, still just as good as I remembered. I had the weekly special, the Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich, with a side of curly fries. MMMM_MMMM! bacon was cooked perfectly, and the chicken breast was tender and juicy. Definitely recommend this place. Great hamburgers and salads too!

Very good turkey burger with green chillis. Big and moist like it should be. Casual indoor and outdoor seating.

I can’t say it was terrible — because it wasn’t. But what I can say is that I had the MOSTBLAND Green Chile Hamburger that has ever existed in the world. No salt that I could discern, no heat(spice), and no other flavors either. The menu did a great job luring me to it, but sadly the cooks did a bad job making me enjoy it.

The Reed Salad is the best salad ever. It’s the only thing I’ve eaten there and the only thing I ever will.

Pretty good, quick and tasty. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the great weather. It’s near my client so I’m sure we’ll go back.

I guess I’m prissy, because when I walk into a place where you automatically get in line to order, I’m ready to walk out. The interior of this place was very generic. We sat outside, which was far more pleasant than inside. The food was acceptable, but I wasn’t overwhelmed enough to change how I felt about the experience.

Biggest burger I’ve even had! No joke, and one of the best. I almost turned around when I saw the fairly pricey menu and realized I would have to stand in line and order from the counter, fast food style. But the tubs of iced-down beer and the funky mural of a buffalo kept it from seeming like Arby’s. And the daily special seemed to be a very good value — $ 7.99 for a 10oz burger, curly fries, onion rings, and a drink. As it turns out, that may be the most«good» food I’ve ever attempted to eat for 8 bucks. I’m attaching a photo of this awesome bounty because it is difficult to describe with words, and even more difficult for one person to devour. Luckily, I have a snake-like ability to consume twice my own weight. Not only do they fill you up, the food is very good. The burger of the day was the Tex Mex; 10oz of perfectly char-grilled ground chuck, chipotle mayo, pico de gallo, jack cheese, quac, and a side of queso. AWESOME!!! The curly fries were very good, and the freshly made onion rings were other-worldly. My only complaint was that the napkins were entirely too thin; you can’t win them all…

I’ve been here 3 times now and the burgers are great. they give a very generous slice of cheese and bacon which i love. i also like the fact that they serve curly fries by default. recently they began serving combo meals for $ 7.99 which include your choice of a burger, fries, and a drink(or pizza, salad, and a drink). kids also eat free on mondays with a purchase of adult meal. i had the pizza the other day and wasn’t too impressed, so i can’t recommend it to anyone. i can get the same kind of pizza at schlotsky’s for less and better taste. one added pro is that there is no waiter service so no need to worry about gratuity, which means you can eat a quality burger combo for under $ 10.

Having dined at Hangtown Grill a few times over the years; our visit last night was tad disappointing. The place was near empty and maybe the lack of business has hurt its cooking practices. We started with the combo basket of onion rings and curly fries. Thanks to the on temperature fryer, its was the best part of the meal. Jenny’s Bistro Chicken pizza suffered from extremely tough chicken. My Fish Tacos(ordered grilled) was delivered fried to our table. I would have complained but we were in a hurry to do some shopping down the road at Barton Creek Mall. Maybe it was an off night for Hangtown; but expect us to choose another place when we venture into Westlake again.

I had the hacked chicken salad today for lunch(to go) and let me just tell you, that if there had been extra dressing, i would have bathed in it tonight… seriously…freaking…amazing. the salad was char-grilled chicken, napa cabbage mix, chopped peanuts, green onions, carrots, fried wontons, spicy Thai peanut and oriental vinaigrette dressings… and it was in the top 3 best salad i’ve ever tasted. and seriouly cheap, too… my friend said their burgers are amazing, as well as the onion rings, but we both had salad today. she had the chicken tortilla salad and it looked scrumptious. i will be eating lunch here at least once a week from here on out… i’m officially addicted.

Great for families with younger children because of menu and atmosphere. I have always been unimpressed with the food. The service was TERRIBLE last time I went. Young girl at the counter… she REALLY didn’t want to be there. I said hello and she went straight to «do you know what you want». Oh well, I know it’s hard to find good help, but some customer service training couldn’t hurt. They do semi-fancy more adult dishes like gourmet salads. They’re passable enough to make a parent be excited that there is something«good» they can eat at a place more suitable for children. My hamburger was dry and over done… the toppings were very sloppily put on… they weren’t busy, but it seemed as though the food was very rushed. If you’re in that area and really need a burger and fries… I guess that’s the place to go because everywhere else in the area like that has closed, or is closing soon.

Oh how I love Hang Town! I was so depressed when the central location on 29th Street closed. I used to eat there ALL the time. Now that the only location open is in Westlake, I don’t make it here very often. Their salads are terrific. All their dressings are homemade, and their caesar dressing is a garlic-lover’s dream come true. Hang Town’s Reed Salad was my first introduction to putting carmelized pecans and feta cheese on a salad. Now I make my hubby do this all the time when we eat salads at home. I also love their wild mushroom burger, probably in part because that addictive caesar dressing makes an appearance on it, as well. They also have both curly and wedge fries. I dig the curlies, ’cause they’re always perfectly crisped — no soggy fries here. Word to the wise: kids eat free here on Monday nights. If you have kids, you’ll love it. If you don’t, you might be happier eating elsewhere that night.
