Awesome sandwiches. Probably one of the best Reuben sandwiches I’ve ever had. Fresh sliced pastrami with melted cheese and sauerkraut on rye bread pressed on a grill was amazing in every way. The wife got the 3 Little Piggies which was a ham, bacon, and salami sandwich that was equally amazing. Everything tasted great. The one thing that left a bad taste in our mouth however was they wouldn’t honor our Groupon. I did get a free soda out of it but apparently they’re in some sort of dispute with them. I blame Groupon more than I do G’s. Overall G’s Dynamite Deli lives up to their name.

Delicious, large, homemade sandwiches. Probably the best in South Austin. The sandwiches are always very flavorful! There are only one to two people working at a time so it could take a little while to get your food if it’s busy.

Their manwich is amazing!!! Its basically a meat lover’s sandwich with all kinds of good stuff, only reason I’m giving it four stars is because it’s kind of expensive. that sandwich was $ 12.99 but well worth it. The place is tiny(total of 3 inside tables), yet well kept! Doesn’t look like much from first glance but definitely a unique place to go try. They have outdoor seating which is also limited to 2 – 3 tables, however I would still highly recommend

Stopped here because it was near another appointment I had. Freaking amazing. I had the MJ’s salad. The ingredients were crazy fresh and delicious. Perfectly ripe avocado, crunchy bacon, crispy romain and the salad on top wasn’t too mayo laden which is often an issue for me. The Topo Chico was icy cold! The staff was pleasant and my food was on the table in 4 minutes! What more could you ask for?

Stopped in for lunch after a soccer game with kids. What an awesome find. Friendly people and feet sandwiches. And huge bonus, kids eat free on Saturdays and comes with sandwich, chips and cookie. Husband had a pastrami and I had a roast beef dip. Great sourdough bread. I’m off dairy and it was great even without the cheese! Wish it were north of the river, that’s the only down side.

Fresh ingredients and so many options! I tried«The Lunchbox» because I couldn’t resist a sandwich with potato chips on it. I also added bacon because why not, let’s have a truly salty sandwich. Although not crazy flavorful or unique, the chips add a good crunch and it was a sizable sandwich(the bread itself was great, very soft and fresh). I’ve also had the spinach salad, which was great but had SO much cheese! Great if you love mozzarella. Overall, a great lunch spot.

This is a must try lunch spot. So hidden and most of the people I preach about it to haven’t heard about it. So GO! Get pretty much anything. You can’t go wrong. «Sandwich» isn’t a big enough word.

Very small space. Soft drinks in crushed ice. Good sandwiches, and they are huge. I had soup and it was good. Wife got a salad, it was pretty good. Nice service too-people were nice. Good little spot in South Austin.

Love this place. They have the best egg salad in town and their sandwiches are HUGE. Seriously, they don’t skimp on the portions! I usually call in my order to go, but I’ve eaten outside once. Atmosphere isn’t really their thing… Food is!

It took 4 years and a tip from Do512 to even find out that G’s existed, but I’m thrilled to have finally tried this hidden gem. In my experience, most sandwich shops try pretty hard to be visible to the casual observer. But this place is pretty easy to miss if you’re not looking for it, which is a shame because their sandwiches are exquisite and damn good. G’s is nestled in what’s basically a tiny house set back from the main road, just before the Oltorf intersection, with a sign that might have trouble drawing attention. It doesn’t have its own parking, as far as I could see. Still, it’s worth finding street parking. This place is super chill. The inside is small, with only a couple tables if you’re sticking around to eat. But the wall décor is a bit quirky and there’s a generally relaxed vibe. A welcome change from my typical deli. Oh right, the sandwich. Quite possibly the best tuna salad I’ve ever had. They put pineapple in it! Made for a unique, inviting flavor, only heightens the whole experience. The focaccia bread it came on was hearty, well-toasted, and had a hint of sun dried tomato. Plus the sandwich was huge for a decent price, and every ingredient seemed super fresh. Will be back to try some other mouth-watering item on their giant menu.

This hidden gem may dissuade you upon first glance or from its limited parking but it leaves very little to be desired when it comes to a damn good Sandwhich. The Texas Dip with its Shiner bock infused au jus has me reminiscing for its delicious goodness anytime I try its lesser French counterparts elsewhere. The muffuletta is astounding, with great tapenade it truly does the great state of Louisiana justice. Most recently I tried Carly’s Hot Mess, which may seem a bit daunting at first glance with its long list of toppings, but fear not, it’s a pure amalgamation of Sandwhich bliss that will leave you ready to explore all the mystic wonders that«G» has managed to create at his dynamite deli!

Terrible customer service. Overcharged my card. Tried to call to get the charge reversed, as advised by my bank, but the manager was so rude. Had to open a claim with my bank anyway. Don’t go here. The same woman I heard talking shit about her own staff to her friends while customers were eating. How unprofessional. You wonder why you can’t get people to work for you. Gs Not So Dynamite Deli

This place has THEBEST ingredients and sadly I can’t rate it a 5. I have never gotten the right amount of ingredients. $ 10 sandwich and 2 slices of meat and when I asked for extra olives I got 4. Too bad because this place could really be so good! Oh and they sell their delicious bread. It’s also super expensive but worth it if you’re willing to splurge on bread.

After reading other reviews I was hesitant to try G’s, but I am SO glad I did. I had Carly’s Hot Mess and it was exactly that. The sandwich was piled high with tons of ingredients that all paired well together. It was delicious and worth every calorie. My fiancé had the Manwich. There was so much meat on it I didn’t think there was anyway he could eat the sandwich but as usual, he impressed me and didn’t have any problem at all. He also had the pablano soup(I think that’s the name) and it was rich, creamy and hearty. We didn’t have the problem with the wait time that other people have commented on. But if you’re looking for Subway style speed then this isn’t the place for you. This also isn’t the place for you if you like Subway in general(sorry babe). The staff were super friendly, checked on us often, and gave us a fresh HOT cookie on the way out the door — so nice! Our one complaint was that we used so many dang napkins to wipe our messy faces.

This is definitely one of my favorite delis. I usually just order to go as the inside has very limited seating, but I’ve also sat out front at a table and people watched on 1st Street. My go to items are the Carly’s Hot Mess sandwich — turkey, bacon, provolone, Swiss, cheddar, jalapeños, chipotle mayo, homemade Dijon, spring mix, red onion, pickles, avocado and pepperocini on jalapeño cheddar bread + a side of jalapeño ranch — it is a mouthful and a mess, but super tasty. I also like the MJ salad — egg salad over spring mix, turkey, bacon, provolone, avocado, red onion, carrot, pepperocini + Italian and ranch dressing. Don’t forget to snag a cup of mushroom Brie soup or some Mrs. Vickie’s chips for a side dish. The reason for only 4 stars is that they are frequently out of at least one ingredient. And one time I received some less than friendly service but usually the girls at the counter are really nice.

I really like the food here! Unfortunately my last experience wasn’t so great. I came in at 6:00 on a Monday and wanted a veggie sandwich… but they were out of hummus. So I ordered a salad and the mushroom brie soup(my fave!)…but they were out of soup. So, basically the two reasons I came here were gone. *Ugh* I stayed and waited for my salad. There was no one else waiting so I thought they could whip up a salad«to go» pretty quickly… nope. The girl making it kept stopping to do things for the other girl working the register… I think she was divvying up tips? Or maybe she was her manager… I dunno, but I just wanted to tell the girl to, «take some ADD meds and focus! I’m hungry over here!» (Disclaimer: I had just finished working out so I was ravenous… but still trying to be healthy). TWENTY minutes later my little spinach salad was finally ready. It was great, but not as big as I thought it would be. *sigh* Would I come back? Yes! But not when I’m in a hurry, and definitely not any time other than lunch… and maybe not at the beginning of the week(that was her reason for being out if soup???) Pros: yummy, fresh food Cons: mediocre service, unreliable menu

Yum! I love sandwiches and they do them RIGHT. The Texas Dip was my favorite out of the two I tried. The jalapeño cheddar bread was more cheddar than jalapeño, which is how I think it should be. Ha! The bacon and sriracha deviled eggs were my favorite part! At only $ 1 each, I’d totally buy extra to take home if I lived closer. The place is BYOB& kids eat free on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Not a lot of indoor seating so come on a pretty day!

I live 2 streets over. Why have I never been here before? This a quaint little café and cool little place to go on a lunch date(with your honey or even your friend). Reuben — they warn you this takes 20min but I don’t feel it took as long. It also came with a special reuben juice? sauce but it really didn’t need it as the reuben itself had great rich flavor. The sandwich is quite large, I really only needed half of it. The Texas Dip — this was great. The bread was also great and almost seemed homemade or made in a local bakery. The sandwich was nice and warm and the au jus was perfect to add flavor to dip it in. The portion size was also pretty nice. Mushroom Brie Soup — all sandwiches come with a side(one being the soup). The soup was a little different than I expected. It was thinner and there wasn’t a strong flavor of either mushroom or brie. Don’t get me wrong, even though it was different, it was still a good flavor for a soup. Other pluses — BYOB and kids eat free on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
