Placed an order for a one topping pizza at 8:25pm and was told it would take max 45 minutes. It is now 9:50pm and still waiting. I called the store at 9:27 and was told they had a huge problem with the computers and phones but that our pizza had already been out for delivery about 10 minutes. Our pizza has yet to arrive. I Wasn’t offered any type of compensation any apology or anything. This is by far the worst!

I’m pretty sure I could get better service from a brick wall. The girl answering the phone has an IQ of 4 ½. She hung up on my three times because I asked the difficult question of, «When is my pizza going to get here?» My pizza arrived late, cold, made incorrectly, and completely unappetizing. The only bright side was my driver who was pleasant and apologetic, David Sprinkle. Thank you, David.

worst customer service EVER. I cut them slack the last time I tried to order — it was 30minutes til close. THIS time, it was dinner time! still rude. not sure what the opposite of helpful is — maybe obstructive? whatever — this store has not one employee that gives a darn about their customers. it’s obvious they’re killing time til the paycheck appears. they’re argumentative, they seem to be more than lazy. I’m so disgusted and pissed that a business is surviving based solely on the MRGATTIS name. this place would not survive otherwise.

I ordered a pizza for lunch at 11:19 and it didn’t arrive until 1:00 with no explanation. Driver said pizza was still hot. Bull! It was just barely warm. I had to call twice to find out why it was taking so long.

I ordered two large pizzas to go on 01÷28÷12. The cashier said that I could wait in my car and that he would bring them out when they were ready. After about 15 minutes, I saw the cashier outside and I asked him to bring parmesean when the pizzas were ready. He said that he forgot that I was waiting and he asked for my name and asked whether or not I had ordered drinks. When the pizzas arrived at my car, the beef and mushroom was burnt. It was burnt so bad that several pieces were broken off inside of the box. I brought it back in and they acknowledged that it was burnt and said that they could make another. Needless to say, the second pizza wasn’t very hot when I got back home.

Let’s face it: Austin sucks at pizza. That being said, I have to review this place for what it is, and not try to rank it in terms of how it stacks up to the best pizza ever. Mr Gatti’s is essentially a cut above the standard Pizza Hut/Papa John’s type places. It offers the same quick delivery, but somewhat better taste. One warning though: Avoid the«pan» crust”. It used to be really greasy and decadent, but the last several times I’ve ordered it it’s been badly undercooked. The hand tossed crust, though, is very good. Delivery times here are usually pretty good, averaging around 30 – 40 minutes to my house(because I know delivery time to my house is the metric everyone else cares about). I usually choose to pick it up though, and when they say it will be ready in 15 minutes, they aren’t kidding. I’ve never had to wait more than a minute or two beyond that 15 minutes to get my pizza. Oh, and you can order online, which is a big plus for the socially inept, such as myself. They also have an iPhone app which is quite functional, if slightly unstable. As a candidate for the best pizza in the world, Gatti’s is not really in the conversation. As an alternative to the big chain pizza places, though, Gatti’s is a fabulous choice. When I’m craving pizza, they’re almost always who I order from.

Since I haven’t had pizza for a month, I decided to try gatti’s for the first time. I placed the order online(a large Margherita original crust) after creating the account. It was very easy and straight forward. The pizza was ready for pick-up in 20 minutes. Now onto the pizza. This is papa john’s quality. The sauce doesn’t have any flavor. The crust is eh. For $ 9, it is just ok. Honestly, I had a lot of expectation from gatti’s since this is my first Austin pizza and from its commercial. It didn’t «wow» me and was kind of a letdown. 2.5 stars.

This is where I get my Gattis’ pizza. I’ve been a fan of Gatti’s since I was a kid — having gone there with my dad on a regular basis. This location is close enough for me to pick-up, so I usually save myself a few bucks and make the drive. Delivery is prompt(45 min at most) if you go that route. My only«complaint» is that the cinnamon sticks are a bit fluffy for my taste. I don’t know if it’s location specific, or if the recipe changed, but I wish they were on thinner crust and a little crispier. NOTE: This is NOT a dine-in location. It’s delivery or pick-up only.
